Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is an American supernatural horror television series based on the comic book series of the same name. The entire first season, consisting of 10 episodes, was released on October 26, 2018. 

Sabrina Spellman must reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal while fighting the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit. The series was inspired by "slow-burn horror" films such as The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, and other "great satanic horror movies from the 1960s and 1970s".

The adaptation is a re-imagining of the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, with a darker and more edgy story along the lines of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic series.

I'm really enjoying the series! Kiernan Shipka snapped as Sabrina, and I'm loving the feminism and friendship on the show. I'm also shipping Sabrina and Harvey so bad! I'll start reading the HQ soon, so I though it would be nice for us to have a thread to discuss all things related to Sabrina's universe. saaaaaame, they're so cute! Haven't watched the whole thing yet but until now Harvey seems like the cutest boyfriend in the world. I love how the romance on the serie is so healthy and pure

I love the tone of the series, and the cast is amazing too. I wish Netflix's ASoUE was as dark as this

Yeah, it mentions a lot of witchcraft. I've seen some (minimal) complaints about how the show portrays wicca/paganism in a wrong light because of how they associate witchcraft with satanism. If you're like super catholic or have strong beliefs towards God you may not like the show because the witches worship Satan a lot and refer to him as God, whereas God/Jesus is called "false God". As for the story, I don't think this season has a clear arc. It shows Sabrina dealing with this new chapter of her life where she has responsabilities as a witch but doesn't want to give up on the human side of her life, but each episode focus on different things like her baptism, her life at the Academy, demon possessions and stuff. Although her relationship with Harvey is a huge part of the series (sometimes it's even annoying) I still enjoyed the show and I think it's worth a shot.

I'm glad to hear the show has reached an audience. I honestly found it almost unwatchable, only got about 5 eps in. Plots and archs were okay but characters and acting were reals bad gotta say.

It hits me the same way Riverdale does. The acting/writing is really bad but it still sucks me in and I have to know what happens

just watched the final episode and wow that was a fucking SERVE  imma go sign that book too so i can get a new hairdo and walk with sassy witches!

I was expecting it to be bad since it's by the creators of Riverdale (yuck!) but it turned out to an entertaining one time watch. I'm on episode 8!

 

Having said that it doesn't hold a candle to AHS: Coven since it's mainly for a younger audience.

i was also v pleasantly surprised by the show! i was expecting a rehash of 90s Sabrina, but this darker/scarier version was so much better. i did prefer the first 2 thirds or so of the show to the last episodes tho, which i thought were a lot more cliché & predictable.

i loved it!!! i thought it was going to be horrible as riverdale but i gave it a chance and it turned out to be good!!!

 

i love kiernan a lot - im a huge mad men fan - and she still looks like a baby, she looks so much younger than 16 tbh babyy

 

anyway, as i type this, im finishing the tv show and i liked it
