Sigur Rós have given a dozen film makers the same modest budget and asked them to create whatever comes into their head when they listen to songs from the band's new album valtari. the idea is to bypass the usual artistic approval process and allow people utmost creative freedom. among the filmmakers are Ramin Bahrani, Alma Har'el and John Cameron Mitchell.

The only album of theirs I've listened to is Ágætis Byrjun and I really, really, really loved it. Posting this now makes me wonder why I haven't already downloaded their discography! Thanks for the reminder! :creep:

Just discovered them and I've listened to Takk twice. I'm now starting my first listen of Ágætis Byrjun. Any tips for getting into their music?

Be aware of the language of the vocals being made up at some of their work. Its purpose is to make you imagine what the lyrics are so that they're 100% accurate to what you feel listening to the song. That is truly iconic if you ask me :teehee:
