I got a BRIT Award recently. And that was something four years ago that I would have died for. But when I finally got that award it meant absolutely nothing to me. Because I now know that The BRIT Awards is a TV show. Record company executives make deals with a TV channel and the producers about who wins what award in exchange for performance time. So its just become a non-award, like thank you for this.'

 

Let's discuss the marvelous Lily fucking Allen. I was obsessed with Lily from 2008 to 2011. IMO Lily is everything you wish in a pop artist: talented, has a huge mouth in which she usually puts her feet in, controversy, likeable, terrible fashion sense, Twitter addict and a drunk hot mess back in the day. These mommy days of hers took away one of my favs but it's all good, Lily is happy and I'm happy for her.

 

I love both albuns, Alright Still and It's Not Me It's You, but INMIY is my fav no doubt. I used to play it no stop and is hard to find an album that you can listen to all songs without wanting to skip a song or 2 or 5. In my humble opinion she is one of the best songwriters out there. So many goodies on her on INMIY  that is hard to pick favorites. Some of my LA addictions: Fuck You, 22, Everyone is at It, LDN, Alfie, It's Not Fair, Little Things, Everybody is Changing, Whod have Known, The Fear.....

I fucking love her. Ever since smile came out a couple of years ago I was hooked. Then there was alfie omg for some reason the vid made me crack up. When the fear was a hit it was everywhere and I was so happy for her. I only heard about the BRITS since last year because I am from the us and its not broadcasted here but I agree w/her some award ceremonies don't mean anything nowadays it's ridiculous. It's not me it's you is my fav album I love love how she sings about anything and put emotion into her music whilst being quirky with the beats/lyrics. That's really smart of her. Some people don't realize what "the fear" was actually about. 22, Back from the start, Fuck You, Smile, and the fear are my favs. Oh and let's not forget when she paired with mark ronson in "oh my god".

 

 

 

Also, really happy she's not lily rose cooper anymore she will always be lily allen imo.

Lily is just so special to me that I can't even describe her. It's not that she is my favorite artist ever or anything near that but the feeling I have towards her is definitely special when I compare her to other artists I like. I think I feel this way because most of my friends like her too, and I remember back in 2009 when I used to sing her songs with another friend of mine.  I even gave her Lily's CD singles as a birthday gift in 2010.

 

I feel so, so glad that she's coming back to music next year. I just really wish she doesn't change her artistic name to Lily Rose Cooper, that's crap. I have all of her songs and I love how her lyrics are so brilliantly written, and how they always represent some sort of social problem or other interesting subject to talk about instead of just sex/sex/sex/sex/men/hot people/sex/sex like most pop music.

 

Last but not least, everyone should praise her brilliant covers that look absolutely awesome as a whole.

Yes Lily is a brillant writer and her social talks and jabs are spetacular and usually not that obvious

 

 

I also might add that Lily Allen Hitted big in our home sweet home. She was one of the 2 (the other is godness Adele) international singers to have 3 musics at the same time in the top 10 Brazil in the last 2 decades. She also did a crazy drunk tour in 2009 all over Brazil and a more sober tour in 2011. Sold out arenas everywhere and she basically  just did radio promo. Amazing since her lyrics are not easy teasy english but everyone just loved her here. I remember having the same feeling like was this one artis that all my friends and everyone I knew loved. Even my parents love her. I got to her concert and was amazing. Did you go? I can't wait for her next album. Her mommy duties are getting in the way of good music lol

Unfortunately I didn't go. It was supposed to be my first concert ever (if I quite recall, it was September 2009 when she came to Rio) and I would go to HSBC Arena, but I couldn't go because no one was available to go with me. I got so frustrated but I got over it, I just wish I can see her someday, ti would be so special to me.

It's Not Me, It's You is a AMAZING ALBUM One of the best pop albums in the past 20 years. Hands down.  It's intelligent, silly and poignant all in one. Her lyrics are so relatable and she's tongue-in-cheek enough to not taker herself too seriously but just serious enough for it to all mean something. I can't wait for this album and can't wait to see what she brings to the table tbh

"Hard Out Here" is absolutely perfect. I feel like Lily can do no wrong, it's a stunning track, she looks hot, it's catchy and the lyrics are (as always) talking about something interesting or a social problem.

I did not know we had a thread for this goddess!!

She is so amazing! My fave song by her is 22, and HOH is totally great. Although the twerking in the video makes me wanna throw up (literally, I have that reaction to the female body for some reason   ) she looks great in it!

Her other new song, Somewhere only we know is also really cool. Her voice is so fragile in it I love it.
