I have listened to West Coast like a million times and I just noticed that before the second verse she says something "get it girl"

God I miss Ultraviolence

 

UV summer and VB/MAC release will always be soooo special in my heart because I was actually happy in my life at those times. Obviously they are the best album/singles from lana too soo lucked out there haha!

 

I just started listening to Flipside again because I've only really been listening to spotify and I still can't believe it was just a bonus track omg I wish it was on the full album instead of TOW

The fact that this poll would definitely be the most uniform out of all of her albums is quite telling. It's her BEST album.

 

I always struggle between Honeymoon and Ultraviolence, but I think she just 'did' Ultraviolence the best out of any album. There was so much anticipation. There was nothing to criticise in her lead singles. NOTHING. It came out so soon after Tropico. It was like her Rebirth.

definitely but i do appreciate the approach that the chorus isn't outshining the verses

it's almost like it's simple in wording but defined with impact

like a period on the verses in a way

the lasting memory/impression she puts on her love

Cruel World and West Coast are a couple of my ultimate faves from this album. Venice Bitch slightly reminds me of those songs which is part of why I love it so much.

TBH Fucked My Way is one of my favourite songs from this album. I love its dark sound and her vocals sound very hypnotic there.

Been listening to this (her best album) a lot lately and present-day I can hear the Jeff Buckley influence all over it

 

It actually makes me wonder if his live rendition of Mojo Pin somehow subliminally influenced the chorus for Video Games...

I get what you mean, but nah, it's actually one of the most bluesy moments on the album, which is a genre influenced by African music. The hammond organ (or whatever variation they use in the song) is present in blues, progressive rock, psychedelic rock and reggae, all genres found in UV.
