Still not loving this title at all. "Norton" sounds like a person's name and every time I hear the title I think of a person named Norton being burnt over a campfire. Omg that sounds so morbid but it won't leave my head

That's perfectly hilarious!!!

"Words move, music moves

Only in time; but that which is only living

Can only die. "

Love this part and the references to Rose gardens and lotus and birds. Timeless themes, makes me think of 'bird and flower paintings' from 18th century Asian painters

To call a song by the name of a famous poem, where the name doesn't really make much sense to the average pop fan, is interesting. LDR didn't quite do this for Body Electric, which I don't think uses any part of the poem except (part of) the poem's title, and that title is pretty pop (or at least meaningful) to most pop fans. She might do the same kind of a thing for Burnt Norton, but what would the song content be if not part of the poem?  @@evilentity 's chemical burn suggestion? The weirdest case scenario would be an oratorio or cantata setting the entire poem (all 5 parts, which would definitely keep her and Keefus Ciancia busy for a while). However, even if the song turns out to be based on just part of the poem, that would be really neat. Joni Mitchell did some songs based on Kipling poems, and Kate Bush did a (revised) song based on Joyce prose, so there is some precedent.

LEAKED LYRICS???? ALL OVER TUMBLR!!!

You have all the girls you want

But we are matrimonial

Who is your truest antiquity

When all your girls are so pretty

Plump red lips, got my cherry balm on

Baby I can mow the lawn if you want

Goodbye for tonight, don’t let me fall

In your love, in your love

[Chorus]

Is all the ash the burnt roses leave?

He gives me his sweet relief.

From time present to time past

Cruising down the coast to hell this fast

Take me to your Burnt Norton

He’s at the bank with watching the van pass

And my sultry soul in summer midnight crass

Tomorrow for this generation sings

For the land of our posterity to be free

Plump red lips, got my cherry balm on

Baby I can mow the lawn if you want

Goodbye for tonight, don’t let me fall

In your love, in your love

[chorus]

Is all the ash the burnt roses leave?

Baby give me your sweet relief.

From time present to time past

Cruising down the coast to hell this fast

Take me to your Burnt Norton

When he left all he said

Lana Rey, are you afraid?

I said, no Bill, I live to see

Our Garlic and Sapphires in the sea

Cause words move and music moves

And I breath in God's wind in my lungs

Which flesh the mistress can't endure

[chorus]

Is all the ash the burnt roses leave?

Baby give me your sweet relief.

From time present to time past

Cruising down the coast to hell this fast

Take me to your Burnt Norton
