The Manuscript is my fave on that part of the album. It’s really heartbreaking

She apparently disses at her fans on a couple of tracks, according to this GQ article 👀 https://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/article/taylor-swift-the-tortured-poets-department-diss

I’ve narrowed the album down to 16 tracks from both parts and it became very good. But 31 songs with minimal production, all about the same period of time… It’s bound to get repetitive at some point. Many lyrics will need time to sink in, but I must admit there are some cringey lines in there. as for the Kim feud, I wasn’t even aware what it was about: I had to check it up on Google. TayTay, get over it indeed!

If you love the 1989 vault tracks, you’ll love this album. I personally think that many songs are a bit of a filler to be honest but I do love 16 tracks out of the 31 she released.

You have the best description for this album

First listen to the « Costco-sized Warehouse Edition ». i get what she was doing, wanting to put out an unedited journal of her breakup, but this is an oversized and undercooked demo-feeling project. Sorry Taylor, it’s too much raw cake for me

I’ve been reading your reviews and comments without having listened to any songs and I really can’t get my head around on the sound of this album.. « It’s Midnights 2.0 » « No it’s not » « reminds me of Reputation » « Reminds me of a mix of folklore and lover and reputation with some Red sounds on one track » Fortnight is probably the song I’m most worried about…
  9. Oh Lana do spill the tea seriously, considering everything bad that happened before her performance, she delivered !!
  10. Geez Courtney is sure flipping her switch in an instant
  11. Five or six months prior is the usual timeframe (or it was last year but I can’t seen how it’s changed with all the vinyl demand). So it would have to be submitted already (like end of last month or first week of this month)
  12. And I do hope that when she starts the era officially that it won’t be too long before we get the album. Long pre-releases bring out the worst in us. And strategy-wise, it’s better for her to wait until summer: spring is packed with releases by major female artists. The lead to Lasso could go very much unnoticed if released during this high-season.
  13. Werent the logo and part of the cowgirl in the chatroom put together by Interscope for her Coachella performance? If so, it seems like her company is really preparing to release Lasso by the end of the year.
  14. Rolling Stone loved her performance, « cimenting her icon status ». Didn’t read the thing but thought it was nice to say
  15. I really liked the show. She looked beautiful, sounded good most of the time (although we do feel she was nervous some times or maybe she got thrown off by her mic having problems). The visuals were nice, loved the Billie moment, the entrance. i guess our expectations were, again, way too high, which feels like it’s a bit of a letdown. with Lana and her team, we always have to tell ourselves that any phrase could mean two things: « Epic » means great stage, « She’ll perform new songs » could mean songs she never sung before and not necessarily the never-heard-before lead single to a new album, « many guest » mean two or three (including Jack), and songs heard at soundcheck (especially unreleased ones) never end up having their official moment on stage
