i was expecting the return of interesting vocal manipulation lolita lana but all i got was a flat tone and a weird vocal filter with no variation till the bridge

 

I agree. It's definitely flatter than what I was expecting and like others have said, the end seems odd. 

 

I don't hate it, I understand why people are excited, and I'm happy to have something new but I don't think it's spectacular. Maybe that's due to my perception that she's phoning everything in, though. 

 

And sometimes I do complete 180s with songs, so we'll see.

I actually think it's perfectly. It's abruptly balanced, and that, that how that does that, makes it super prone to get repeated/replayed easy like crazy. The layered sax tho, the flirty dial tone opening, and her fucking voice melting and hovering over everything like a fucking female cupid --- Interscope shouldn't let this one get away - does anyone else think of 1950's, 60's fashion when they listen to this? Tans and bright colors to wear for the summer, those vintage filters that make everything seem so perfect? Bc W O W change up the summer scene Lanaaaaaaaa

Love Doin' Time. I really wasn't seeing any of the NFR song so far as a potential lead / fan track for early summertime. Which proves she's still a step ahead (it really feels like she releases a song or two with each season before the whole thing finally).

However, I wonder how long before the album era finally picks up. I can't see the lead not being released before August (and yet, it's her and I've been wrong so many times since September)
