I never understand why when you listen to Lana the suggested artists that come up are always Marina, Halsey, Charlie Xxx & all that shit. Even when you ask ppl for suggestions they say they’re similar and they really aren’t. I do like marina out of those but the only similarity I can find is they both have vintage aesthetics and their lyrics are from a sad girl perspective (most of the time) but even like that they’re different. Imagine comparing Lana to those other pop, high pitched, demons. I literally HAVE to scream or I’ll pop

Yeah I always had this problem when I’d look for that modern artists similar to Lana. There are none. I usually compare her to Joni Mitchell and Stevie Nicks the most and even they’re pretty different from her (although definitely more similar than all the alt pop girls). But if there were lots of artists comparable to Lana, her art wouldn’t be so special.

Funny enough the follow up to that Beach Boys album was never finished and Brian Wilson’s mental health got really bad in the process and he took a back seat for the rest of the Beach Boys albums of the decade so hopefully this is not an NFR clue

see the thing is, for some reason whenever i think ab the day this album is released, i see myself listening to cinnamon and HIAB and IYC, so im not too excited bc i already heard some of each. and i forget theres songs we literally havent heard at all yet and then i realize such and i get excited and antsy all over again, its a painful tiring loop

I do have some quick Wikipedia searches to share about Hillsong. No, I’m NOT ignoring the past and I’m not saying I’m okay with Hillsong, but. Something really interesting. In 2007/2008 they supported the Australian Labor Party who in 2015/2016 wanted to ban conversion therapy and called it “abhorrent“. I’m not Australian so idk, but it’s either they supported them, knowing their stance on gay rights OR ALP turned out different than they expected and Hillsong already supported them in the past by the time 2015/2016 rolled around

 

One other thing too, Brian Houston said he’s more understanding of the LGBT community, but after backlash from “Christians” he said he “never said I deny biblical truth or support gay marriage”

That just means the algorithm deduced that Lana’s audience are the same people who listen to these pop girls. If she really were that different from these “demons” then her audience would be completely different from theirs, wouldn’t it?
