TEMPORARY Chemtrails Over the Country Club - Pre-Release Thread: OUT March 19th, 2021

Recommended Posts

Carmen is one of my least fav lana songs.... I could never get into it, though I do see its appeal.

I guess what I’m referring to is more “vibe” of the music. For me, personally, Happiness is a Butterfly and Love Song are more beautiful than anything on BtD, even tho I still love a lot of born to die. I’m not saying I don’t like it, it’s just not the sound I want. Literally just piano is something I’d consider “gorgeous instrumentation”. Give me sax, give me surf guitars, give me drums, give me synths, what I’m saying when I’m saying I don’t want BtD is that I don’t want anything over over over produced, which is something that BtD without a question in my mind IS. I can’t even listen to Million Dollar Man because of whatever auto tune processed thing is happening to her voice on the studio cut. Luckily I don’t think any of her stuff has been overproduced since.

Also, I’m aware there aren’t trap beats on BtD, that was a separate wish. I actually really like Summer Bummer and few of the trap beat songs on LfL, I just don’t necessarily need more of them.

THIS! Simplicity can be beautiful

yeah! and I know we know nothing about the cover, or even the direction of the record, but the ideas have been real great, and a pool cover/ some kind of water would be AMAZING

I couldn't agree more, I would LOVE something that is a kind of updated take on the Paradise cover's concept with some sort of commentary like the NFR cover

Paradise's cover was amazing. like, I guess some call it a bit edited, and I can see that, but it was done, well(?). I'd wanna see Flaunt Mag/Slim Aarons. I forgot the other reference I made. commentary YES. timelessness too, but still have it fresh?

I'd wanna talk more ideas, but really right now, it'd be great if she shared something directly about the record soon, so we can piece things if just a little better

YES YES TO FLAUNT MAG/SLIM AARONS. The Flaunt Mag shoot was unreal, I would really dig some similar visuals for COTCC.

I have a feeling before the end of this month she'll do something album-related, so hopefully we'll get closer to stitching everything together!

mix a little of Galor maaaaag w it. Every time I think about the magazine itself, the images just pop up still, even if the issue was like a while back ago. me too!

Same here. responsibly speaking, don't think she's gonna say anything about the album on the fourth, and a little after. she mentioned a poetry book being done. wish we could buy it. so there's that too. mid July would be, best case scenario i think,

and I know. the title says much already, and im caught btwn hm. lowkey stripped back/acoustic. to smooth. want hm vibes. get bad/paradise(lowkey) vibes. aesthetic possibly aged like lfl. connected to nfr, bc of hope, and feminism/bartender. UV? maybe rage? but that's not even confirmed.

Kill Kill/DT/ Freak vibes. like. smooth twilight zone or something.

would be beautiful if we got an off white pearlescent vinyl. an amber color variant'd b great too, vinyl rainbow her albums. lots to want to expect but yeah lol

I love everything you wrote.

Musically speaking I would love something that has a classic feel to it - maybe a mix of Honeymoon and ‘Me & Mr. Jones’ by Amy Winehouse with some more dreamy guitars like the instrumentation of the Patent Leather Do-Over Instagram vid.

I would love a pearlescent white or amber vinyl as well! I wouldn’t even mind a nice lavender/lilac shade as well. So exciting!

random but Bel Air is one of those songs I can barely listen to just bc it makes me so emotional, like it's one of my absolute faves but it's just so emotional to me I can't listen to it all the time

There are also a few songs on Ray of Light that I think feel are very Lana-ish. Drowned World, Candy Perfume Girl and Swim come to mind.

Actually, Rick worked on that album. For anyone who's not into Madonna and has never heard it, that album is worth a listen. Trust.

YES! also frozen and mer girl are very creepy and lana esque too, speaking of i would love for lana to cover mer girl. i'd die
