LDR10 - Pre-Pre-Release Thread
fishtails and 7 others liked a post in a topic by Elle
Recently, Lana has followed both Harper’s Bazaar and Collier Schorr who has photographed previous cover shoots for HB (as well as for other magazines that Lana has also covered before such as Interview, T, and AnOther) I wonder if this will result in a cover story that leads to info about LDR10.. it’s been 7 months since the release of Ocean Blvd, and 7 months after Blue Banisters is when Lana had her cover story with W Magazine where she gave us the first LDR9 tidbit with Fingertips lyrics x -

8 likesthese titles sound intriguing and really sound like they’d fit in with the theme of zodiac – “for the serial killer, the prostitute pick up, and pantyhose thriller”…very mysterious, dark, and reminiscent of vintage thriller/horror films. do you guys think they’ll see the light of day on ldr10, or will we have to wait years for them to be leaked

Lana Del Rey circa 1893, taking a last walk with a lamed horse before having to put it down, as the winter quickly approaches, in the coldest town, south of the Canadian border. -

i've said something along these lines before but this fanbase is so miserable, like its the same thing every time she releases anything that's not AG_PC_beat_v426 because some of you see her as a vessel for his production and not an actual artist herself. Anyways I like the song, i'm a sucker for a piano house beat and I really like Sam's ad-libs in the final chorus, but my one critique is that the song itself feels pieced together and a little choppy,. like the struggled to get the first chorus, post chorus, and sam's verse to flow right. I hope it gets the remix treatment I'd like to hear what some DJs could do with it. -

6 likesI actually theorise that they met through him. Nikki & Lana first met in January 2014 (or at least that’s when they were first photographed together) and at the time, Dan was the lead producer on both of their albums that they were set to release that year. Dan’s albums for both Lana (Ultraviolence) and Nikki (All or Nothin) are my favourite from each of their discographies, so I think the takeaway here is that they need to bring Dan in for their collab album… Here’s some of the Nikki tracks that Dan worked on for her 2014 record - the first one, You Can’t Talk To Me Like That, is my favourite Nikki song and something I could definitely hear Lana singing. The second one I shared, Seein’ Double, reminds me a little bit of Velvet Crowbar with the production. The last one, Right Time, is the most popular song from the record and one of her top songs among her whole discography (#4 in her Popular songs on Spotify & her most streamed song from one of her own albums) x

This discussion is so fucking annoying honestly… why are we bothered that someone is not “poor enough” for our understanding? Why do you feel that there is only one version of poverty and struggle? Black-and-white mentality is getting proper ridiculous at this point. -

6 likesDon't get me wrong, I love all the channels making "Ultraviolence" versions of other Lana songs, and many of them I listen to regularly, but it's like we all forgot Ultraviolence has some songs that aren't rock-based at all and also has other sounds that branch out a lot more. There is so much focus on making a song sound like rock and calling it an Ultraviolence Version, but no one is noticing the soft jazz, the vintage sounds, the piano and the strings as the part that is distinctly Lana. In fact, the album sounding too "classic rock" is exactly what Dan Auerbach said was wrong with the original record before he produced it. I absolutely get that rock is probably easier for amateur musicians to do on their computers, but yeah, I still kinda see it as making Ultraviolence more shallow than it is. It's such a complex album, I'm always searching for more and never being satisfied!

Happy 20th anniversary to "Frank", released by Amy Winehouse on October 20th, 2003. Most Lipsters here have heard of Back to Black, but I encourage you to give this record a chance (if you haven't yet) ! -

4 likesI don't know how unpopular this is cause I've seen mixed reactions all over the internet but I don't like the new tour at all I love her looks, vocals are amazing and she's so happy so I'm happy for her but all the dancers doing random shit on stage takes me out of it She said it helps her confidence so at the end of the day I'm glad for her but I really miss the earlier tours when it was just her doing her random mini dances, the sexy drops and the walks around the stage without any planning. I guess it made every single show a bit more special cause you didn't know what to expect from her and now it's all more choreographed and such I get why some people would prefer this type of show tho

The head of her label destroyed all copies of unfinished unreleased material in label hands specifically to prevent that scenario. He realized that she was a perfectionist and the material wasn't anywhere close to finished enough to form an album. We do know a few titles of songs intended for the third album: Do Me a Lemon Gutter A Lion's Pride You Always Hurt the Ones You Love [which you can hear a snippet of her working on during the Amy documentary] Song for Dionne Our Souls Ain't Sold Not a Penny Cremated [this might be an alt title for "Like Smoke", as a page from her diary has it listed near "Like Smoke" and "Never Wanted You (To Be My Man)", so it seems like she might've been deciding between the three] Lion(ess) in Limbo Where Is He? [probably the Amy solo version of what became "Cherry Wine"] Misery Loves Company How Long Now You Never Came Back for Me Between the Cheats was also on the same list, but that obviously saw release, alongside Like Smoke. All of these are presumably still held in the hands of the producers who worked on them, though. Salaam Remi and Mark Ronson have both said in the past that they're against the release of any of the unfinished unreleased songs that are still in their possession. -

ughhh i’m so tired of this disingenuous argument, this conversation always comes up because charli struggles to be receptive to negative feedback and makes it everyone else’s problem. it has nothing to do with seeing her as a “vessel” or being “miserable” or whatever you’re talking about… i’ve been a fan for over a decade and i have enjoyed most of what she’s released, crash for example is completely generic and i love it. the vast majority of artists i listen to are not hyperpop, i’m capable of enjoying other music. in my opinion in the city is just not a good song; the melody is boring, the writing is boring, it’s not good. it wouldn’t be any better if it were pcm. she’s got dozens of leaks with even weaker production that don’t even have lyrics, just 3 minutes of mumbling and nonsense and they still manage to be catchier than this. stop parrotting this point about how everyone hates anything that’s not beep bop boop when in reality it’s just because people think the music is bad. if you like the song then cool other people are entitled to disagree. moving on -

Mel needs to just drop an outtake ep for portals and call it a day for this era.. 2020-2021 when the leaks came out i visioned something huge for this album and to be her best material but with her scrapping the songs that made the album masterful and selling crappy merch, lazy tour, lack of promotion, cgi vomit MVs, cash grabbing, arguing/distancing from fans and her being desperate to get that movie made (which will never come out) it's really just so dry rn and i think it's best to give the fans what they always wanted and then work on new material that hopefully will be worth another 5 year wait NOT DEAD, JUST EXPIRED (EP) (would have the demo of void as void pt 2) 1. GARDEN 2. DRAGONS BLOOD 3. MOTHER OF PEARL 4. NEEDLE & THREAD 5. FINGERS CROSSED 6. VOID (pt. 2) 7. EMERALD 8. SYNCHRONICITIES -
