In 2018, @salvatore "swept" with six awards including Lipster of the Year and the now defunct Melania Trump Award for Originality, although the rest of their wins were all in the so-called "bad categories": Attention Whore, Drama Queen, Most Annoying Member and Clown of the Year. A similar situation occurred in 2019, when @Rorman Nockwell won three awards: Biggest Lana Hater, Drama Queen and Lipster of the Year. It also marked the first and only time Biggest Lana Hater and Lipster of the Year were given to the same member. The only time a tie took place at the Lipsters Awards was in 2019: @Elle and @evilentity shared Veteran Member, while @movebaby and @Masochism both won Best Banned Member. The only time a non-member has ever won an award (not counting Lana Del Rey herself) was "Cassette Girl", winning Favorite Leaker in 2019. not entirely lana-related or anything too significant or crazy, but interesting nonetheless... so, yesterday, i found myself curious about steven mertens' music, so i decided to search him on youtube, not much came up, one song called on ice which i didn't find too interesting honestly, and a music video for a song called no roof, now, if you watch the music video and listen to the lyrics (they're kind of hard to understand honestly ) it may seem familiar to you... it features a girl wearing a wig walking around new york, the beach, and coney island, and not only that, but steven mertens sings the line lookin' like a calendar kitten which obviously she mentions in boarding school, now, you may look at the upload date (march 2nd, 2013) and assume it's a song he wrote about her, but if you look at the youtube channel which uploaded it, you'll see they also previously uploaded it on january 26, 2007, and i'm going to assume they didn't know each other yet, and even if they did, it was before she took on the coney island/new york/kitschy americana aesthetic around late 2007/early 2008, perhaps she took some inspiration from steven mertens' song and video because it's very lizzy-esque and this wasn't even her aesthetic at the time you can also see the original 2007 upload on a screenshot of his old myspace what led me to finding this in the first place was finding out (and realizing i was correct about) steven mertens was the guitarist at her october 22, 2009 show at canal room, by reading the information section on the thread about it in the early shows section i'm actually really surprised to find out he still worked with lana past 2007, i suppose i always assumed they only really worked together in 2007 and never really did past that, but i suppose i was wrong and he played at her shows at the least... it really seems like the more i know, the less i know! steven mertens performing a song mentioning calendar kitten while an old song of his featuring a girl in a wig frolicking around coney island and the beach also mentions it... it's literally all connected...

I forgot to add this: @annedauphine (2015) and @Beautiful Loser (2017) are the only members to win Best New Member and Lipster of the Year in a single night. Truly an achievement! @Embach was so close

My only request is that she sounds clear and louder. The last album is so quiet and it’s especially apparent when I play songs from that album in a playlist with her other songs and they sound so much louder.

FJM has teased his new music while in the studio and his latest story is very jazz. Drew is still on board for that project. i don’t think my wish will come true, but anything Buddy’s Rendezvous would be a dream to me, whether for his album or hers

To be fair, I think when I first joined, people didn't understand my humour and thought I was hatin' (although there may've been some genuine frustration because this was around the NFR era) I love you but you don't understand me ANYWAY congratulations to everyone else on the list but I personally think we should make a rule that you can't be nommed for more than 3 categories per year because: 1. I think people tend to forget names when nominating and reuse the same well-known ones in many categories. Like one year I had like 7 nominations including for best AND worst username 2. As a consequence of #1, users who don't post as often seem to be overlooked and that's a shame. Quality not quantity And 3. No shade to anyone on the list (I'm on there myself) buti t's boring to have the same people win everything It's more fun to share it around Just my onion

Sit your asses down, she did her sell out album, that era is over. Our cunt pop princess is back, just give her time to release her stuff. SOPHIE and Charli made some great stuff, but she isn't lost without her. Look at the myriad of amazing A.G. tracks or those with umru, Dylan Brady, Danny L Harle or EASYFUN... Stop being haters and go back to begging for moonlight solo and true romance title track.

This exact same thing happened to me. I keep coming back to this album. You wouldn't think that, considering the album is long, dense and complex. But the replay value as a listening experience is insane to me.

Yeah but this wouldn't really stop the sweeps (where ppl just put the same name cos they can't think of anyone else). Plus idk that people would necessarily remember/read who won the previous year Like every year our company does awards like this and all the people who work at the head office always win almost everything because everyone knows them (whereas a nominee from our office would only be known by others in our office, so they never win) As a result no one rly cares or bothers with it But I think more winners = more participation and more people feeling appreciated and we should definitely find a way to do that, however we happen to go about it

I don't mind one or two outtakes from other albums as long as they are not leaked material (or heavily reworked/just reused melodies and lyrics). The already leaked ones can go all together into an Unreleased Collection She has to finally use the chorus of On Our Way for something. She really loves it by the amount of songs with it
