Its only been 18 days? genuinely feels like it’s been 2 months, but I guess the first two months of the year do typically go a bit slower

Thinking about the NFR rollout makes me laugh…it picked up as a traditional cycle in the summer of 2019 but she really didn’t give a fuck in the 9 months before that and STILL reached a career peak She is so casually cool. Goals.

And Chemtrails was announced the day NFR dropped.

my dutch wife, who is a big time publicist, who works with many huge labels including Polydor and UMG says that Lasso is a double album. Part one is very coquette country while the second half is more jazzy. But again with Lana even the best laid plans can change.....

I still have PTSD from NFR pre-release era thank god that the next eras weren't that long, even COTCC era went smoother. I hope that Lasso era is smooth as well.

I've lost count of the number of times I've read psychedelic surf rock trip hop in this thread.

Sometimes I genuinely think Lana still believes putting out an album as the LANA DEL REY is still as easy as hitting “upload” on YouTube like she did in her Lizzy days lmao

And blue banisters the day after Chemtrails. idk she’s been messy with her announcements since NFR, but I think the September date is the most ‘planned’ random blurb she’s given. The twitter insider said it’s scheduled for September 20th, so at the very least her and her team have a rough idea of when it’ll come out. I think her being in LA lately is an indication the album is almost done, because she was working with Luke in Nashville (and has been since at least November) and now she’s been home since early February. Aside from the Quavo colab that she just worked on, I think a majority of Lasso is done and now is the mixing/planning phase

Lana is a revolutionary of art, and her music is literally like reading a classic novel. I am obsessed with the intrinsic message of Lust for Life, as it is literally one of the greatest and most enriching ideas to pursue satisfaction, love, and embracing life. It talks about the impulses and critical events in life, it’s unbelievably insane.

when she surprises us with an unreleased album & a covers album AND a new poetry book to make the wait less painful

to be fair it was ultimately released in June, so it was probably a distribution issue. I mean look at Ocean, it was delayed 2 weeks in January, and she barely said anything about it! But yeah, she definitely has a habit of doing this. I’ve been around since BTD and I’m STILL haunted by the Tropico release. “Its coming you little bitch” was the most iconic Lana line at that time

I trust her approximate date this time. It's far away enough that it feels realistic and it wasn't an impulsive reaction like Chemtrails or RCS that were announced while defending herself from controversies and stuff

The date will pass and she'll be radio silent until at least March 2025 when she drops the first single and pre order for a summer 2025 release

I seriously cannot wait for this album to come out! I'm curious about the sound. I don't think we're getting a full on traditional country sounding album, but more of a folk-ish/americana with country influence type of sound...? I don't know, Henry doesn't really scream country to me. Although, Lana is not really known for providing accurate sound descriptions I definitely expect a style similar to Chemtrails, but perhaps even more stripped down. Very chill and quiet, but I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Somehow it's good that she didn't leave us in the dark. We know the name of the album, when to expect it and what direction it will take (of course, nothing is absolutely set in stone). Maybe it was also a forewarning so that some wouldn't be too disappointed despite the long wait. We've even heard the snippet of a possible next song (and it whets the appetite for more). So we're relatively well informed in this era, now it's just a case of wait and see.

they must hate every time she just comes with a random date and announce a random album that they probably didn’t even knew it was being produced honestly they deserve since their management fails sometimes

Okay so i’ve listened to the album and here is what I can say right now: So the album opens with Lasso, the title track. Here she sings: «Put a lasso around my neck, pull it real tight, i just wanna DIE, just kidding, i just wanna feel ALIVE» Over a banjo and a psychedelic trap beat. Then the second track is Henry, Come On. Let me tell you she is BELTING with her voice. Henry, Come On is about erectile dysfunction. Okay so thats what i could tell you for now. Stay tuned…

https://theface.com/music/charli-xcx-interview-new-album-xcx6-vol-4-issue-18 interview with the face. girl is practically confirmed for the album, it's her most "aggressive and confrontational but also her most vulnerable." a song inspired by dasha about why people find "succubus, dead-eyed women" mean. von dutch mv is filmed and she jumps off the wing of a plane. "The push-and-pull between vulnerability and braggadocio is at the heart of XCX6."

Kinda worries me that neither Ben nor Ed reposted anything Lasso-related so far I thought we were out of these woods, when she blurs out an approximate and yet impossible date for an album release, that she had learned her lesson after multiple album rollouts
