I love them. They really struggled & took their time to record their debut album, and even though it's not perfect (some of songs could have been a lot better when you compare to how they sound live), I really dig it. Hopefully they'll get better recording in the studio with the time, I still think they can get bigger. some stuff to check out if you're a new fan: Oh and they're doing SNL on 23rd november.

  4. Saw this on the Music Essentials he made for hypetrak, thought it was interesting: "My Zoom - I always have it with me. Whatever happens and where ever I am. Sometimes, I hear sounds that I want to record. It's full of things. The memory card is huge because I have sounds from 2007. I have rehearsals of Lana Del Rey and I singing together. Hopefully it will come out someday." You can read the rest of his Music Essentials here.
  5. I don't think Lana has anything to say in this... it's most likely her managers, I'd say. It all depends on how/if you want to commercialize it (copyrights $$) and if it's far different from the original. But he has a contract with Interscope now, sooooo don't worry about this and be ready to eat some Gervais girl. Didn't she said a few words about it in that Radio.com interview? I don't really remember.
  6. This one reminded me a LOT of Nicolas Winding Refn's first movies (the first 2 Pusher & Bleeder particularly), very similar style! Ever saw them? --- My favorites: Flying Lotus - Until The Quiet Comes short film directed by Kahlil Joseph The most beautiful video clip I ever saw, hands down! The Shoes - Time To Dance directed by Daniel Wolfe Ultra violent, Jake Gyllenhaal completely nailed it. DJ Mehdi - Signatune directed by Romain Gavras Because dude's gone too soon, RIP Mehdi. Daft Punk - Da Funk directed by Spike Jonze Most random clip EVER, love it. XXYYXX - About You directed by VASH SO hypnotizing & chill...

IKR! WTF is Wanderlust?! His 3 mixtapes were so dark and great... with Kiss Land it's like he's trying to be more mainstream and touch more people, I already wasn't feeling it when I saw the cover of the album tbh. I remember reading an interview of Jeremy Rose (producer of 'What You Need', 'Loft Music' & the original 'The Morning') on VICE, where he said that Abel was a basic rapper before and his lyrics were boring AF... I think he needs to be well surrounded to make great music, unfortunately I guess.
