She argued with me once on IG when I didn’t even attack her so I dropped her from that point onwards- hopefully she finds her purpose someday

Lorry makes baseless assumptions constantly, the woman is genuinely luckily not to be sued for her daily Mail level expertise

but my point was that crash failed in its attempt to be a "sell out" album because nothing went viral. it did well because by that time charli was established + it had lots of features, but no song went viral. good ones was supposed to be her "sell out" anthem and it tanked horribly. it's not even top 10 of her most viral songs.
BRAT, on the other hand, can claim more than actual hit. i don't think they will be as long lived as boom clap or i love it but they're still huge on tiktok which is pretty much what being viral means now
It went #2 in the UK- did its chart position change?

either way, tay loves charli and we will be getting that sympathy is a knife remix
She comes across as extremely false- I don’t doubt she’s a fan but she’s also extremely competitive and not the girls girl she wants to brand herself as- from not letting go a decades fued with the KS and 60x physical releases when another artist releases.

It didn’t tank- it reached no1 and did better record wise on the charts but less culturally like brat.
crash= mild charting singles
No1 album.
Brat= Cultural impact
Tik Tok hit

Also were people really being warned for comments involving trailer? Charli will continue to enjoy her success I guess

Radical optimism was a bit of a comercial flop, but she's still a household name, it could be good for them both. Has she been seen at any of these parties or shows?
I wouldn’t say household name- maybe to men in their 30s and up drooling and girls and gay men in their 20s

I definitely think this could be her no1 single if she’s going to get one- depends on how hard they push but it wouldn’t make sense putting Billie on it if she didn’t want it to chart really

I think the video has a nice concept- I like the truck destroying the building with the overloading underwear- I’m just not a fan of Charlis fashion sense this era or her boob jiggle dance poses so it’s hard for me to really like the aesthetic. Billie is someone I’d need to have more time with song wise to see if it actually gels for me.
Surprised she didn’t just use the dare for the video- I wonder how he felt about him being replaced by a bigger artist.

I don’t think holy child really said anything negative at all- I always assumed brat was a reference to charli being called “brat pop” circa sucker which to me meant high paced, bratty vocal led pop music that drew from pop punk slightly. Definitely don’t think the culture was inspired by their usage of the word at all though sadly.
I remember sleigh bells and panic at the disco being labelled as brat pop too during death of a bachelor

This type of impact is exactly the sort that will enrage someone like Taylor Swift aswell considering that if a lesser seller can do it- why can’t the supposed biggest artist of the decade with billions of streams? Shouldn’t she have this impact? I bet she’s pissed

I think what this album is showing is that the divide between the internet and real life is gradually becoming closer for better or worse- Brat isn’t a no1 album with a massive hit but it doesn’t need to be in this decade- you can influence an entire trend, presidential election or fashion- similarly JK Rowling is using this newfound closeness for other purposes despite not having a hit book in years…..

Whilst I do think it’s disingenuous for politics to latch onto pop culture for political gain- I do think it’s interesting how otherwise niche or other internet culture seems to be gaining a major platform on tik tok that influences big events in history etc.

Honestly I was not expecting this (great and iconic) album to hit the mainstream as hard as it has. I tough CRASH would’ve been her highest peak in “mainstream reach”Brat itself is big but we don’t have a boom clap sized hit currently or even a speed drive level one. BRAT itself has become a massive thing but the album seems to be doing really well as a whole on streaming.

The brat thing is so bizarre- she really turned it into a pop culture staple in history- I just don’t understand how it keeps getting bigger as a concept unrelated to the album
It’s not like the album is cranking out 10 number 1s but somehow you’ve got designers ripping off the cover left, right and centre and it’s bizarrely lodged into a political campaign.

She feels so different this era- honestly I find it really jarring seeing her bounce from era to era because her personality seems to change massively in interviews- I really can’t imagine sucker era charli saying she’d want to start acting at all or that’s she’s contemplating quitting music.
In fact I remember several interviews where she outright stated it wasn’t a passion of hers and that she thought the concept of marriage was utterly pointless

It’s kind of interesting because I truly do believe Duas commercial decline(as I predicted) has lended forward for people like charli and Sabrina carpenter(through TikTok mass algorithm buying) to take her place in dance pop. Audiences are very fickle as seen with Ed Sheeran.
Once you’re gone now you’re effectively gone but can still get a succesful tour so it will be interesting to assess whether Charli wants to keep the pop momentum going but she may have no choice seeing as her fanbase is very cultish- like Lana she may continue to get bigger and bigger.
