I should mention that I don't think Madonna has any bad albums. Aside from Like A Virgin (which is really just bops + some awful filler), they all have some redeeming qualities, and I actually think True Blue is probably the best 80s album, period. Madonna's 80s music aged a lot better than most other 80s stuff, in my opinion. But yes, I definitely think there was a massive step up quality-wise afterwards, and if I had my way, she would primarily be remembered for her music from the 90s rather than the 80s.

1999 is literally the song that got Charli out of label purgatory after the whole mess with XCX World and yet y'all constantly shit on it and Troye smh. It's a bop, they sound nice together, and I don't think Charli would've had the kind of chemistry that gave us the iconic video with anyone else but Troye. And a few months later they even dropped 2099 to keep the PC Music crowd happy as well. Honestly let's be grateful everything happened the way it did because ever since then it's been smooth sailing. In a parallel universe her career ended with the droplet era.

It was mentioned somewhere that the very first vocal take they did for Hung Up actually ended up being the one they put in the final song, which I think it pretty fascinating considering it's one of those songs that's literally produced to perfection. And I totally agree, like I already think she doesn't get enough credit as a performer and cultural influence, but even less so as a vocalist.

Can we talk about how amazing Mother And Father is? Both the studio version and the live performances:

Obviously Ray Of Light is Ray Of Light and Confessions is Confessions, but I will say that on certain days American Life is her best album to me.

I think overall I agree with @the ocean's ranking more, but I would still rank Girl Gone Wild, GMAYL, Medellín, Die Another Day, God Control and Bad Girl at least one tier higher each, and Frozen absolutely is one of her top tier videos (you definitely got that one right @weinendersoldat, but that doesn't mean I'll let you get away with the Bitch I'm Madonna slander lol).

Well. After going completely overboard with NFR (lime green, alt. cover pink, and translucent blue vinyl, plus the glitter cassette and the signed CD) and especially with Chemtrails (green, red, and blue vinyl, plus the Spotify-exclusive picture disc and the alt. cover picture disc, plus the alt. cover CD, plus the boxset + signed art card) and holding back with Blue Banisters (which admittedly was easy because most things were impossible to get for me lmao) where I only got the red vinyl and the alt. cover CD, I guess I managed to find a healthy-ish balance this time around: I have the red, green and pink vinyl variants and the alt. cover CD preordered, and unless a super amazing additional variant or a boxset or something drops, I'll definitely keep it at that.

With Blue Banisters, it felt like every variant was pretty limited, even the standard one was hard to get at times. Ocean Boulevard seems to be more of a "normal" rollout again, comparable to NFR and Chemtrails, so it should be easier to get the variants you want. My guess would also be that the indies one will end up being the rarest, especially since it also seems to be a lot of people's favourite. Amazon-exclusives usually aren't super limited, and the Target/HMV/FNAC variants are usually available for quite a while too. The one that's hard to tell is the webstore-exclusive one since we have no idea about pressing numbers of this one, but if it's anything like the lime-green NFR, then I don't think it's gonna sell out anytime soon. TL;DR – buy the indies variant lol.
