Listen im not trying to be an edgy Ultraviolence snob or anything, but i really hope Lana strips back her sound again. There was something about that era that gave us the most insight into her inner thoughts and feelings and the stripped back sound matched it so well. The real instruments cut out all the bullshit, as if Lana was like "that's it, you wanna make assumptions about who I am? Then take this REAL shit!" And I think it kinda worked. It cut out all the fakers and the people who really couldn't be bothered to look deeper. We need this again. Honeymoon was from another universe, but Lust for Life felt like such 'surface work', and there was a very clear filter in which it came through (P.S. THE DEMOS DONT HAVE THIS FILTER SO LEAK EM ALLLLL I BEG YOU"). Idk, i just think real instruments bring out her best, and creates the heavy atmosphere that captivated everyone to begin with. As much as i love the first verse of the studio BPBP, this would have hit so much harder and probably would have been so much better. Stop denying it. We want controversial Lana back. Only reading the lyrics is way different to hearing how she would have delivered it vocally. And this was written way before other LFL songs that disappointed most. Like imagine reading the Ultraviolence verse 1 lyrics before hearing the song. They suck but her delivery with vocals and instrumentals makes it one of her best

People who liked Grimea way before Art Angels will always say Visions though. Her fans compared her to other electronic bands like Crystal Castles where the energy was all over the place and unexpected. So when AA came out THAT was the album we all had to get used to. Still, the only songs i consistently listen to from her previous are Genesis, Circumambient, Be a Body, Vanessa, Crystal Ball, Rosa and Caladan, which are the ones that actually sound like songs rather than random shit she thought of when on drugs hahha Cause yeah, most of Geidi Primes gives me a headache

Art Angels seemed like a really consistent album to me, and if Im in the mood its great to listen all the way through, but I NEED the unexpected like Visions and Halfaxa again. I want to feel that "WOW this is crazy and I LOVE IT" again with Grimes. The snippet in the Behind The Mac video gives me that.

For a lot of people, the allegations were a good enough reason to not START listening to her music more than the few songs they probably knew. For others who stanned her hard before the allegations tho, a lot of them, including me, went through the "defend timothy" Stage, not because i 100% thought Melanie was evil, but because id do the same for any alleged victim. But after the drama died down and we were able to rationally analyse the 'evidence' including a really good body language analysis video of Timothy talking about it, i think even us who did momentarily turn against Mel decided that it was too messy to make a decision- both sides not telling the absolute truth, and to just try and forget about it I think the majority of people still hating Mel just hate her personally, not because of Timothys story. And also, her response to the bisexual question is really good. I feel that no one believes bisexuality until you 'prove it' and thats the reason i never formally came out. There usually doesnt need to be "experimentation" before you realise youre bisexual, or gay, or whatever. Most people just know, but never get to experience it.
