  1. I think a lot of people are missing the point when I brought up the fact that my preferential album was the one that appealed to a mass audience. I had been called 'basic' by a fellow member and the point I'm making is that although its meant in a derogatory way, I'm not offended by it. The point is, I do prefer the album that was more commercially appealing and there's nothing wrong with that. Yep I'm one of those cliche fans that many music snobs on here look down on complete with the flower garlands in my hair - but theres room for us all! I'm not interested in dissecting every song Lana creates and attempting to appreciate a song that otherwise doesn't push my buttons by emphasising how 'lyrically artistic' the song is, and I'm not interested in joining competitions to be Lana's biggest or most loyal fan either.
  2. I really hope we get some well-written choruses with Honeymoon. Lana and co got a bit lazy with chorus writing on UV and there was a lot of repetition. I miss choruses like BTD, VG and Ride.
  3. Again I'm noticing how anything Lana says about this new album is being taken in two completely different contexts by those who want a sound on the same vein as BTD or those who want a sound on the same vein as UV. Again I think we'll just have to wait and see what the finished product sounds like.
  4. Lana has said herself that this record will sound similar to BTD and Paradise (yay for me). However, I do wonder if this is Lana's decision of whether label executives are pulling her strings.
  5. His music is very commercial I think it will be a far cry from UV, but I also don't think it will be particularly close to BTD either.
  6. You've completely missed my point, not once did I say Born To Die was better because it appealed to the masses, it's better because it is (for me).
  7. Thank you. You see, I dont feel the need to bow down to every move Lana makes... I didn't enjoy Ultraviolence as much as BTD. Yeah that's right - I preferred the more marketable album that appealed to the general masses than the less successful one, because for me BTD, has the better songs that I simply prefer to listen to. I see no point in lying and if that makes me "literally so basic" then literally so be it. Would love Honeymoon to be a return to BTD sound or would appreciate something fresh, but please, do not return to Ultraviolence.
  8. So much better material was scrapped. Ultraviolence was good but not great.
  9. Except the quality of UV's music wasn't particularly high.
  10. Wow I thought she was dazzling. Her dress really stood out (debatable whether it was for all the wrong reasons or not). I think the worst Lana has ever looked at an awards show was that year she went to the Brits with a plait in her hair which was dyed way too dark for her complexion and she wore really plain dress (she looked rough that night).
  11. Both, although the Paradise one made a really bad song worse which I honestly didn't think was possible.
  12. Barrie's got a new girl judging by his Instagram.
  13. It just bores me and I don't like her voice in it sounds too high for my liking.
  14. I know Yayo is considered Lana gold but I can't stand it.
  15. Yayo is one of Lana's worst songs.
  16. I said three words. Also, looking at your response to trinity along with this one, I think you'll find that its you who needs to "calm down and breathe".
  17. Yeah, unless Honeymoon was a continuation of music produced by Dan Auerbach, I don't think it would work as a continuation. I'm all for a clean slate too.
  18. Wow I hadn't seen this photo from the shoot before. It's heavenly.
  19. Exactly, and there's no need to get personal or start mocking someone for their taste in other artists. But yeah I think people need to realise that even as a fan, you don't have to worship every piece of work an artist makes.
