Beautiful Loser

I remember telling my boyfriend when A&W came out that Lana is changing the music game (once again) and we are watching history being made. It was a beautiful way for her to usher in 2023 and gave us a sneak peek of the experimentalism of the album. 
 
Seeing Pitchfork and NME name A&W song of the year makes me ecstatic and gives me hope that she’ll be making waves at this year’s Grammys. There’s no song like it and there never will be. 

On the Grammy's page you can read that SOTY is about songwriting, if that's the case A&W is the best written song in that category. A&W SOTY Grammy's 2024

this album really brought her back to the forefront more than I realized honestly 

They are getting our hopes up so much…….if she gets snubbed the result will be truly apocalyptic for the academy

One of my fav guilty pleasures is Christmas Tree Farm... it's a bit corny but it always puts me in a festive mood!

my dad reads The Guardian religiously betting a hundred dollars he's going to text me that article tomorrow morning.... he really didn't get Lana from the few songs I showed him in the past but imagine if he decides to listen to A&W because of this list lmaoo the shock he will be in for

There are some songs that make me cry. A lot of Lana songs, actually. 
 
But I've never experienced a song that makes me cry every. single. time. I hear it — without fail. 
 
And then there's The Grants. Kintsugi. Fingertips. 
 
Tears, every single time. The power of her songwriting (and production) to illicit that response in me every single time is extraordinary. She is the songwriter of our generation.

I left a comment on their instagram and I honestly didn't think they would reply, but they did. It sounded like they're still planning to release the fan arts as merch. Which sounds promising, if they really mean it, I honestly started to believe it had all been forgotten considering the winners were announced 7 months ago and there hasn't been a second part to the contest (yet).

I think her team got her account verified now because of that fake verified profile fiasco to prevent others from impersonating her

I have no idea whether the screenshots are real, but the person who posted them on reddit seems to be a genuine person and based on their comment history just wants to know what happened to their order like everyone else... the email address is definitely real though, I emailed Ed (Lana's other manager) once back in the LFL days and his email was at that same address

This is all so strange, I really wonder what happened. It was definitely a real store since its inception and I've ordered from them before and had my stuff delivered. Their instagram was posting regularly like every other day up until October 2nd and then it just abruptly stopped.
I'm sad I won't ever get my stuff, I really wanted it. There are fans who have the things I bought (I ordered an ashtray, a bunch of pins, chapstick, and some air fresheners) so it's not like it's not real merch. There's actually more stuff I wanted to order but I've held off buying it since I currently have two separate orders I've been waiting for.
whether Lana's team decided to end their relationship with whoever runs the store or something else happened, they should've taken the site down and processed refunds automatically if they knew they weren't going to deliver

I’ve been trying to think of an answer to this for the past two days, I don’t think I have one. A&W was the song I streamed the most but lyrically… I don’t think any of Lana’s songs can describe the past year. Maybe Ocean Blvd or Say yes to Heaven? Because I developed a crush for the first time in my life yay I’m normal after all! I met him very briefly and for a short time so “don’t forget me” and all that could describe it, as well as the chorus for SYTH.

MESS!!! Omg this is SO unprofessional, since when has it not been an official anymore?? Why is this not publicly announced, so many people have been affected by this shop and waited for their packages or refunds!

I love seeing her acknowledge Heroin on insta and Lust for Life in The Times article. The album truly gives a snapshot into the politics of 2016 and it’s still important today.
