it shouldn't, all the etchings I've seen aren't raised, so it plays normally. I can't tell if it's the angle/reflection or whatever but the picture looks kinda raised which is weird

I have a pro-ject elemental which I love (it's a little pricey), I've heard audio technica are good and there's cheaper ones. Basically you get what you pay for, hope that helps a bit
