  1. She has made mention of when the muse leaves her or doesn’t frequent her much quite a bit this past year. I don’t have the exact quotes but I know she’s talked about it a few times this year. I’m getting a sense that she doesn’t know where to go next and is very much in a transitional period. Pantene has basically confirmed the album is half baked and boring. Other insiders like 111 and BoZ have hinted they’ve heard parts of Lasso and are dead silent otherwise. That’s not a good sign. Absolutely no insider is hyping this album, Lana herself included. I can’t wait for the recording process of this album to be detailed in the future bc it seems messy af.
  2. Pantene said the surprise is music related so we have something else to look forward to, as well
  3. I think this song is a part of the new direction she's talking about. I think "Has anyone else died for you?" and the fenway song are part of the gothic sound.
  4. Wait, I just realized she said regarding Lasso: "there was a lot of 'American flair', too much of that American aesthetic." Who was it that claimed she was hesitant about releasing around the election and that some songs are political in nature akin to God Bless America...?? Maybe they actually knew something
  5. and a final version of "If I Die Young" as the album closer where she admits she can't escape the pull of California and heads home to create her psychedelic surf rock 11th album masterpiece
  6. "I'm entering a new era. It has to do with living in Oklahoma and feeling different. My eyes have seen so much open space, I've felt the wind, and that's the kind of energy I want to talk about now." It’s refreshing to hear her say this after months of hinting at a major shift. It feels almost like she's leaving Hollywood behind—not retiring or leaving LA entirely, but that her music might start reflecting a different, even more grounded perspective. There was a clear leap between LFL and NFR—a new chapter of self-possessed lyrics, at times a more positive outlook and deeply introspective lyrics that carried through COCC, BB and Tunnel. Now, as she says she's done with the ultra-personal, I can’t wait to see where this new direction takes her.
  7. Amazing photoshoot, amazing interview I'm actually very glad she's pushing pause on the next album because the vibes around it have been off. We can now look forward to something completely fresh, something southern gothic inspired in 2025 and never utter that cursed L word again
  8. Imaginal Disc (entire album) and Aquamarine by Mizz Rae has been on repeat
  9. I think it was Popinsider on twitter who said back in the summer that Lana would be filming a music video in the fall. Could have been a lucky guess or maybe they have some sources. I just searched their tweets though and they’ve deleted anything mentioning Lana I’m sure these shoots are booked months in advance to work with everyone’s schedule. Hollywood basically shuts down the week before Thanksgiving through the new year so maybe this is one last thing to check off before end of year.
  10. Here’s my delulu theory: there was a shift around January or February this year. Before this, she seemed to have some stripped-back, country/Americana songs ready—subdued, simpler tracks. “Henry” might be one of these. But after the shift, possibly triggered by the Grammy snub, her perspective changed. I’m holding out hope that this is where “Has Anyone Else Died For You?” came to life. The Fenway intro could also reflect this shift, with its southern gothic tone fitting the new direction. If she’s writing about being “crucified” so others can succeed, it suggests something more layered than the “simpler, Americana songs” she mentioned last year. It’s likely she now has a mix of tracks that don’t yet form a cohesive album, and she’s still working through the creative process.
  11. At this point, the vibes around this album are very strange. Kind of hope whatever comes next has a new name, 0 country vibes and is totally fresh. Lana seems so unenthused by it herself.
  12. It feels like she was chasing a bit of a trend with the country phase, but she’s clearly moved past it now. She—and maybe a lot of the entertainment industry—seemed to be anticipating a big wave of country music influence taking over pop culture. Cowboy Carter was a great project and made an impact, but while some other artists jumped on the country bandwagon, I don’t think it ever blew up the way people expected. Maybe that’s just mye being in my own bubble, though. IF Pantene is right about the secret project I hope it’s an unreleased album with songs that never leaked over the years
  13. This is so unexpected in the best way. Glad to see she’s not gone off grid completely since the we**ing
