I love, love, love this song so much because I feel really personally connected to it. I grew up near Fordham Road, so I can offer my take on the geography, at least. I'm almost certain the "bad neighborhood" she's talking about is on one side of Fordham, which you would have to pass through if you were walking up to Fordham Road from downtown (Harlem/South Bronx). The other side, going uptown, is a decent neighborhood. In the vicinity is a Catholic girls' high school, which has a stone statue of the Virgin Mary on a rocky hill in their garden, which is in clear view as you walk past. Valentine refers to Valentine Avenue, which is a cross street in the neighborhood. Depending on which route you took, you'd have to pass the statue in order to walk up to Valentine Av. I hope all that made sense!

Off course she does!! And if irony strikes once again she will win an Oscar with one of her worst songs!!  Leo DiCaprio could also win an Oscar as best actor for Gatsby for the entire thing turn out as  comedy.
 
Leo has been robbed at least 2 Oscars and Lana was ignored and treated as a parea and a fake. Makes total sense both win with a poor version of their amazing body of work.
 
Wish she winsssss so badly. The look on her face will be priceless. We know that she knows that Y&B is just a meh song among all the others. Better yet imagine if she WINS and doesn't show up and is pictured having a coffee while shopping at K-Mart instead off being at the Oscar's ???

Of course "Paradise" deserves every award on this planet. One of the best albums ever. (For me.)

Just watched it. I have way too many thoughts to condense here at 4:30 in the morning. One thing: Did any one consider Lana's character to represent Carmen? (Eating soft ice cream, her character seeming to be Hispanic/have some sort of Hispanic background or heritage, "dance till you drop") Of course in Tropico she's a stripper and not a prostitute so maybe not. That was the just first thing I thought of when I saw where she ended up.

For one,  I am not entirely convinced Ultraviolence will remain the album title.

Second, there is no way in hell she is going to even make a peep in an interview about the album until February.

Third,  We wont hear a single until August 2014
Fourth, We wont have an album until November 2014.

lol you're optimistic. my prediction is she's going to do a few interviews in like february or early spring mentioning the album and possibly mentioning plans for a new single, then be silent for 3 months, announce the single, the single doesn't come out (lol obviously), it comes out like 2 months later with a homemade video and we don't hear anything about the album till fall

he produced bel air, blue jeans, the orchestral young & beautiful and i think the score for tropico (and maybe other stuff as well) so yes it's good!

I am just assuming that he is (so) legit for a second. If the song is indeed intended for Ultraviolent as his message basically states, he must have signed a few things, or must have been informed about how to behave. Just look at what this message caused. We as a forum have been discussing this for multiple pages already and let's not even be so delusional to think that a very certain party of the record label pays attention to things like this. In no time at all, information will spread and it's going to be everywhere. We all know how thirsty we are for album details. I am not saying that the sudden confirmation of a song title will cause Universal to upset plans, but it will certainly make them doubt about their creative "staff." Of course there is talk, and there is a whole lot of talk between publishers and labels... if you think longterm: unless his work is so incredibly outstanding and marketable... who would want to hire him after this?

This all seems a bit strange to me....a random guy claiming to write Lana's songs? I mean it could be possible, but idk...I'm just sceptical.
Just a thought but he only wanted to be credited for a song which is supposedly for her upcoming album, but he actually didn't ask for removing the song from Youtube. Of course this song has been online for quite a while but we all know that Lana doesn't like leaks and especially if it will be used for Ultraviolence I'm a bit surprised that they didn't take the vid down.
 
Anyway I'm actually not that much interessted in that guy as some of you seem to be and I hope he won't get over-confident because of his recently gained "fame" and leaks more than just a few quotes that might belong to a Lana song. I really don't want a déjà-vu-thingie of the leaking of Black Beauty, AFFA etc...
