everything is so relate-able oh my
you know you'e a ldr fan when
    - you get annoyed when people say they love her but don't actually know about her
    - you read/ watch lolita
    - you read interviews in her voice
    - you start taking music recommendations from her
    - you stalk her old myspace and reverbnation

wow, so glad i joined this and finally found other lana stans
i didn't read the whole thread but i have a few things to add
i used to think dark paradise was about k and dealing with his death. until i heard the demo version, which threw me off a bit. but maybe. maybe k isn't actually dead, but dead in a metaphorical sense?? like maybe he got too deeply involved in crime and sirens could be lana predicting what she think may be k's future. maybe blue jeans is about what really happened with k - he was too involved in making money and crime so the relationship ended. i've always imagined that jim reminded lana of k. i have no evidence for this though. i'm not sure if bill even exists. in driving with cars with boys she may have just used billy because it's a fairly generic name. as for trash magic, i always assumed bill was just a nickname. perhaps role playing with her man. it makes me think of bill clinton, which sounds stupid i know i really wanna know whether she actually got with mr campbell or just fantasized  as for young an beautiful, i kinda think that it isn't really about anyone, maybe only loosely based on someone. after all, it was written for a movie. there are so many possibilities. but i really hope that in like 20 or 30 years lana releases an autobiography where she explains everything. that would be amazing.

Yeah, as well as these, I think Put The Radio On is also about wanting to be with Jimmy
    I don't wanna know I'm wrong

Cause I'm a really good girl,
    You a very bad guy,
We're a little match made in heaven if I say so, yay-o
Come over here boy and play-o

(edit: i know it's already been established that this song was about jimmy. but I'm now thinking of it as the truth about jimmy and lana, whereas a lot of other songs would be fantasy. I used to think it was about wanting jimmy back after a break up, but it might actually be the start of the story)

You know, I can't directly relate to a lot of what Lana sings about, but I get really emotional listening to a lot of her music
Like she conveys her emotions so well that I feel them too
    feels

but also i would like a man to dominate me i can relate to that fuck yeah
  11. Wilde_child liked a post in a topic by erink4te in If Lana was a singer in a rock band...
Ooh I was just thinking about this today
    I can envision this
I imagine she could almost be the female equivalent to Brandon Flowers of the killers
I think she would still have a following, she'd be an amazing front woman

But her music is very, very personal, so I don't know how that would work with a band

@ I know your title is just descriptive. But what do you think about changing it to "ISIL and other contemporary terrorists"?

Atheism does not have to be anti-religion. Religion is not the problem; it's people using groupthink to manipulate other people. You might as well try to ban all human organizations. (Actually, we've been there and done that, and anti-establishment proponents generally go on to try and establish their own brand of groupthink. So good luck with that.)

i have so many favourites but these are just a few

    YAYO (AKA version)
this song is honestly the most beautiful love song i have ever heard. it captures so much emotion and it makes me so sad to think that lana is no
longer with the man this is about. even though their relationship probably had flaws, i feel like this song captures one perfect moment. it captures how it feels to truly need someone's love. i say captures too much. sorry

    ON OUR WAY
this song makes me cry and smile at the same time. smile because she is so sweet and the way she sings kaaaayy-mart. but cry because i don't think lana and her lover ever really ran away, never really just got in the car and drove away forever. i sound stupid, i know, but i just really love this song. and the video. oh my.

    KINDA OUTTA LUCK
makes me so happy. makes me want to go be a femme fatale. i went through a phase where i listened to it religiously.

    KILL KILL
such a soothing, summery vibe. makes me want to lie down on a sunny beach with my feet in the sand.

    NATIONAL ANTHEM
both versions. but the demo version feels so badass.

honourable mentions: you can be the boss, lolita (demo with the fast music), put me in a movie, mermaid motel, trash magic

I worry about Lana. Honestly have expected her to take a hiatus for a while, might be good for her. She has it tough, cops way more criticism than she deserves. And it is so easy to focus on the criticism and completely disregard the amount of love people, especially fans, have for her. And not just superficial love. I, as do many others, adore HER MUSIC, HER WRITING. My God, she's like a fucking poet. She writes like no other. Her lyrics hold a very special place in my heart, they evoke emotions I have never felt before. She has so much talent and intelligence. In my prayers

Went a little deep there, but I really do think that, despite her success, her authenticity and talent and a singer/ songwriter is STILL underrated, particularly by harsh critics.

I also believe it was a moment thing. I mean she spoke about wanting kids and now about being dead. Who of us hasn't thought about both those things? Two crucial moments in anyone's life, it's only natural. The only difference is that you don't say that to journalist, you say it to friends. lol But now that she did, oh well.

I hope it was a moment thing. I really dont believe she is sad all the time. She has fans , she has people who cry for her , people who love her.

All the love from her fans will never fill the emptiness she feels inside or increase the love she doesn't have for herself. That's not real love, it's not shared, she's not connected deeply with people and it's understandable. The applause is just a thrill. It's not reality. And she can't face reality. She can't find a place where she belongs, she can't find people to rely to and she have a hard time keeping meaningful relationships. She still feels alone when there are so many people who would like to love her and care for her. I might be wrong, but that's how I see things. It's sad.
