  1. The exhibition is also coming to Sao Paulo, Toronto, Groningen, Chicago and Paris. So maybe if you ever go on vacation to these cities you can still see the exhibition :ohno:

Paris is definitely a possibility! Do you have any idea if dates have announced? I can't seem to find anything...

  2. A couple days ago I was on vacation in London and bought loads of Bowie stuff + been to the 'David Bowie Is..' exhibition (it was really amazing)

    :crying:

I just found out about this.

From March to July I went to London 5 TIMES and the exhibition ended YESTERDAY. I didn't know about it. Brb killing myself.

  3. Oop, I genuinely thought this would be a Fiona Apple thread. :awk:

I hate all apple products 8) what kind of overrated status symbol!

It's not even that anymore since everyone and their dog has an iPhone/iPod now. But I do agree that they're overrated and, most especially, overpriced. Their products' quality is undeniable imo but you pay a fuckton for branding & design. Also, fucking iTunes. :woot:

Never bought an Apple product (both my iPods were gifts) & I'll sure as hell never own an iPhone (Android >>>>). A while ago I was seriously tempted to buy a Mac (I'll have to buy a new laptop soon, probably still this year) but now I'm unsure.

  4. Kind of embarrassing but despite all the hype I never actually listened to them...

Someone please tell me what album or EP I should start with?

Btw, what's the deal with their (pretty eventful) no-show at Lolla? ~conceptual art, or...?

  5. Aladdin Sane, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust & Hunky Dory :bodyisready:

I'll also forever love him for stanning for Syd Barrett since the 70s and to this day. :worship:

"Barrett was a huge influence on me, absolutely. I thought Syd could do no wrong. I thought he was a massive talent. He was the first I has ever seen in the middle '60 who could decorate a stage. He has this strange mystical look to him, with painted black fingernails and his eyes fully made up. He was like some figure out of an indonesian play or something, and he wasn't altogether of this world." - David Bowie, 1990

And I love his cover of 'See Emily Play' even if Syd wasn't exactly nice about it.

And his Arnold Layne tribute with Dave Gilmour. :flutter: :flutter: :flutter:

  6. i've been pretty off it since Yeezus came out tho bco the threads since that point have been pretty averageeee. i'll probs come back during september though because there's a bunch of releases i'm excited about.

~~Summer. And yeah, me too. I only go there for the occasional sharethread.

  7. What's wrong with his dick? I really don't understand it, sorry.

I don't see anything wrong with it either, tbh. Sure, it's not the prettiest dick I've ever seen, but I don't see what all the fuss is about either. :whatever:

    3deep5u i guess :creepna:

:omfg: that is brilliant oh God. 8.3/10 Best New Name.

sure is high school around here.

Okay so this is really random BUUUT

    r u a /mu/tant? :candy:

  8. oh my GOD @@elllipsis !!! that would be sublime!  :crying4:

jeff buckley is my favorite, ever, and "dream brother" is one of his best ♥

@ i also really adore that BBW instrumental! if you were meaning with which lana song it would combine, i can hear it with "miss america / trash magic", beginning the vocals at the same time the instruments start...if only i knew how to try this mix out and see if it works! what program do you use? is it very difficult?

'Dream Brother' is probably my fave Buckley song. :sadcore2: I thought it could fit the BBW instrumental quite nicely, and also figured it'd be something Lana would approve. :whatever:

(Btw, have you ever read his bio 'Dream Brother'? 2 people recommended it to me recently & both said it was very good and incredibly sad... Judging from the story & lyrics of 'Dream Brother' and how much it affects me, I believe it! I think I'm gonna buy it soon...)

  9. morrissey-bitch-please.gif

Sorry about that, I just wanted an excuse to post one of my fave gifs of all time & this thread was it. :smirk:

The Smiths aren't one of my favourite bands or anything (I don't know all that much about them since I've only listened to 2 albums) but I do love 'The Queen Is Dead'. Really need to listen to the rest of their discography.

  10.

Someone please help ~ I can't find 'Disobey' anywhere but YouTube, and it's the one thing I want to complete my collection!

    UGH

    :deadbanana:

Only version I could find is a 192kpbs one. Do you want it?

  11. Excuse me, not gore? I watched the the first and second in a row and even though the second one is way more gorey, the implied gore in the first one is enough for you to feel sick.

And in terms of creepy movies, I suggest "Sinister" and "Insidious". Watch "Mama" if you like something creepy ad unexpected but it's not that great.

'Implied gore' kinda defeats the whole definition of gore though... While it was disturbing I didn't think it was that gory either, tbh (I never watched the 2nd).

  12. yessss! of course i remember "a stroke of genius"!  :oprah:

i SO wish i knew how to use audio programs...would "blue jeans" fit with "trying your luck"??

So do I... And it definitely could!! I think the chorus of Blue Jeans + the instrumentals of the chorus of Trying your luck could fit really nicely...

  13. Can you believe she's just turned 55?! How did you feel about Director's Cut? I sort of think of it as the closest thing we'll get to a live album from her. I love 50 Words For Snow, but I'm not a fan of the collaborations on that album. They don't quite seem to fit in with the rest.

I like it, but I was a bit disappointed at first, when I found out it was only a re-recording and restructuring of old songs... I was a bit like, 'what's the point?'.

I absolutely love the collab with Stephen Fry in '50 Words for Snow' (song)... And I mostly like them, tbh.

And yeah, it's unbelievable... And she's such a genuinely strange person, so reserved and eccentric. I love that aspect of hers.

  14. @@elllipsis wouldn't a mashup of lana and the strokes sound awesome?? way back when the band came out there used to be a zillion mashups, especially using "hard to explain"...what nostalgia  :aw:

Omg, yesss I remember that! :defeated: Do you remember A Stroke of Genie-us??? :hooker:

I feel like the a capella of Blue Jeans could fit really well with something out of Is This It or Room On Fire. Help me out @@ednafrau and @@Quentin!

I would also LOVE to hear a mashup of Heavy Hitter (instrumental) and Between love & hate!!! :flutter: :flutter: :flutter: I feel like these 2 could make a really great mashup for some reason!

  15. I love that the remixer used her vocals from the Jools Holland performance (and not sure if I should feel weird for recognizing it right after the vocals started)

I think I read somewhere that he'd used a live performance because it was the closest he could get to an a capella version (and you definitely shouldn't :)).
