seeing as how it says "file name: the manuscript" and knowing that that's a deluxe track, i definitely feel there's going to be different variations for other "file names", so that's possible

These titles are giving mentally unwell😭 So Long, London??? Omg she’s really coming for Joe…

The titles themselves are so corny (she really took a page out of the Lana Del Rey weird titles book) but I’m convinced there is going to be an extremely sarcastic tone on this album. I really don’t understand why there is a Post Malone feature though.

there’s something VERRRYYY suspicious going on. The lowkey release (even tho the album announcement has 13 million likes it’s still lowkey for Taylor), the immediate track list reveal (no codes, mayhem, nothing), the fact that the “file name” is “the manuscript”, the book theme of the album. Something more is brewing.

    I haven't done a cartwheel since I was nine.

Such a simple but profound sentence. I am in my late 60's and this doesn't make me sad or melancholy. Just makes me think and reflect. One sentence. That is why she deserved to win.

That's why the Grammys should have an award called Artist Of The Year because in that case Taylor would've been more deserving because of her crazy achievements in the world with Eras tour and so

Ok I know it's nottt that serious but I'm on my lunch break running on two hours of sleep and I felt inspired to write a dramatic incoherent rant of my own to get some of my frustration out, read at your own peril:

I feel like this was a "last exit before the bridge" type of situation; it's a shame the Grammy's missed it. Not for Lana, but for them.

As other on this forum have so eloquently pointed out, it's a sore spot for the music industry at large that the woman they ridiculed a decade ago turned into arguably the most influential artist of her generation, spawning many of today's establishment-darlings. It's no wonder they are scared of her, and scared to reward her, because it means admitting fault, and that's never an easy thing to do.

Yet, one might have thought, twelve years after Born To Die's release, on the back of a career-defining, genre-spanning ninth studio album, they could finally have found the grace and humility to say, hey, we were wrong. To finally give an artist as influential - and historically controversial - as Lana her flowers would have been a good look on the Grammys, one that's become rarer and rarer in years mired by public outcry at the choice of winners for the big awards.

I don't mean to understate Lana's ability to reinvent herself and redefine her artistry time and time again, I'm certain she can and will continue to challenge our expectations of her in the best way possible, but it’s still hard to imagine an opus rivaling Ocean Blvd arriving anytime soon. This album is such a layered, richly rewarding listen for anyone who has followed Lana's journey as an artist: her barest lyrics yet evoke impossible emotions, worlds of meaning are hidden within the structure of the tracklist, the album morphs into then transcends the metaphor of its eponymous track.

Nominating such a body of work five times yet refusing to bestow any accolades upon it while awarding other, derivative, and frankly infinitely more simple albums and songs is a confounding choice on the Recording Academy's part, but it's not Lana Del Rey's loss. Though she keeps pushing ever forward, the culture at large has finally caught up to her—  at least enough to recognise her impact as a generational artist, even as her self-mythology remains impermeable to many.

Lana will move through this as she has moved through all the noise that has surrounded her for more than decade: without missing a step in her unrelenting quest to offer up her soul’s truth in her music. But when your first four-time AOTY winner in history has to take time out of her speech to praise, in her own words, that legend in her prime, who is standing behind her in the shadows, empty-handed—  you have to realise you've abjectly failed as a committee whose stated aim is to recognise "outstanding" achievements in music.

Lana will probably win a Grammy one day, but it will ring hollow when she does. The moment of redemption has passed.

I feel like she’s going to go for Kacey Musgraves, Zach Bryan type of country. She’s always been very country, but her country music is more so folk. To fully commit to a country album, I feel like she would need to bring in more country aspects which is where I feel like it’s going to be similar to Kacey and Zach. I don’t know if this made sense, lol, but that’s my take on the sound of the album.

Perhaps this is our do-over year…

2020 Leap year: literally had the most traumatic day of my entire life on leap day that still heavily affects me to this very day

2024 Leap year: literally anything else happens

2020 Trump vs Biden: Biden wins, Trump claims election fraud

2024 Trump vs Biden: neither bozo wins and are somehow both disqualified from even running

2020 Chiefs vs 49ers: Chiefs win, not sure the repercussions of this (sports are a nonevent in my world)

2024 Chiefs vs 49ers: 49ers win which makes Lana happy since she’s rooting for them (tbh idrc either way again sports are a nonevent in my world)

2020 Lana Del Rey unexpectedly announces her follow up record to her previous Grammy-nominated album to be released in September that has acountry influence & production by Jack Antonoff: Lana loses at the Grammys and then the new record gets pushed back & kinda flops

I agree; sharp, almost too clear.

Honestly, I think most creators strive for artistic vision today over pleasant listening experience, and that includes filmmakers too, which is why so much of today's art fails and fails to reach a sizable audience of any kind. Look back to the great Golden Age of Hollywood when films were routinely geared towards a general public, and yet masterpiece after masterpiece was produced, and the writers, actors, and directors were still allowed to put some of their signature creativity into their work.

I think Lana's rise and success--as well as the respect she's received from her peers in the industry--is due to her being a genuine artist with an authentic vision. Sometimes she creates middle-of-the-road songs like Tomorrow Never Came, Arcadia, or Margaret but the balance of her work is very visionary, like When the World Was at War, 13 Beaches, Gods & Monsters, Money Power Glory, Ultraviolence, Cola, Bel Air, Heroin, Swan Song, and Old Money among others.

It's difficult to hear those songs and then just walk away from Lana as an artist. No one else is doing what Lana is doing or 'world building' the way she is in terms of her vision.

    i'm fine with LDR10 coming in 2025
  22. Serene Queen liked a post in a topic by Elle in LDR10 - Pre-Pre-Release Thread
    Well, not necessarily.
It depends on how far along she is in the process, but the earliest evidence we have of Lana working on a new album is from Jack's blog post from late March that stated Lana "refuses to leave the studio" despite Ocean Blvd having been released just a few days prior.
For Lust for Life, at least 6 of its songs on the final tracklist were recorded between March - June 2017 and the record was released in July. Similarly, with NFR, at least 5 of its final songs were recorded from January - July 2019 and the record was released in August. So, there's still a chance LDR10 could come in 2024 depending on when she started working on the record and how far along she is. I could see a late summer release at the absolute earliest, especially since it would match up well to when she'll be doing some of her international festival dates. If not though, I think we could still possibly anticipate a single in the third or fourth quarter of this year and then the album within the first quarter of 2025. I think her posting the “Henry, Come On” snippet was a good sign of things moving along rather quickly since she already has music ready to at least share previews of.
& then to touch on the covers, the covers for Paradise, Ultraviolence, Honeymoon, Norman, and Blue Banisters were all taken the same year the record was released. 5 of her album covers were done within 6 months of the album release (all of the above except switch out Paradise for Born to Die) with Ultraviolence having the quickest turn around of 1 month from the photoshoot to the album announcement, then the album dropped another month later. So, the covers seem to generally have a rather quick turnaround. Who knows, maybe she’s already done a few photoshoots or been garnering ideas for them! x

So it seems like Lana is working on this album for the last few months when she is in Nashville. Ultraviolence also got produced in Nashville (partly at least or "reworked" if I remember correctly).
I take this is as a sign that we get another major career highlight
Also she used alot of e-guitar on UV in 2014, then we got some e-guitar on a few NFR songs in 2019 (e-guitar being more prominent than on HM & LFL). That makes 5 years between those two albums . 2019 + 5 is 2024. So by that we must get a few e-guitar heavy songs on this album too
So the album better comes out this year

Anyways do with these theories what you want I just wanted to procrastinate so I have a longer break from studying today but I do think they are kinda delusional interesting
