so I’d take that to mean she fingertips is a literal voice memo

I have no idea if anyone has done this but I thought it would be fun to make a Lyric Book for lanas whole discography since she hasn't had one since endless summer tour

I agree completely about NFR!. 

I think it's partly because Lana doesn't really have a powerhouse voice a la Whitney Houston, Linda Ronstadt, or Aretha Franklin. She's more in the Debbie Harry - Stevie  Nicks category (if you've ever seen either in concert, then you know they have very little actual vocal range)—she needs the studio to sound really good in the varied notes—look at Video Games--it has very few high notes and is fairly monotone throughout, which is part of its charm.  I sometimes find vocal straining charming, but I don't on Grandfather. 

Her various producers probably have to do a lot of studio dickering, and we know from the video she posted on Facebook during the making of Lust for Life how she was experimenting with singing with a piece of paper between herself and the mic (I believe it was on BPBP). Lord knows what other similar hacks she's used to enhance her vocals—I'm assuming singing with the paper between her and the mic was her idea, but who knows? It may have been Rick's. 
 
Though it's not one of my favorite of her songs, to me, vocally, Lana sounds best on Money, Power, Glory, especially in the refrain. That's my own personal standard or how I'd like to hear her vocals. Clear, immediate, crisp. 

I love the snippet we have. The lyrics eat, I’m sure the rest of the song is just as interesting and I think Lana’s great when she’s a little mad as hell. 

This lady always has someone or something to blame for her shortcomings, hasnt she? It's the label or the sound tech or the festival or the tooth fairy. Pathetic.

the way Capitol hasn't uttered a single word about her at all in the last decade, dropped her ungrateful unprofessional ass on NTMT anniversary (that was so shady and hilarious of them, I never heard of a bigger gag ) while she is STILL going on about them like an obsessed ex who just can't move on. imagine how tired we all are

I see Henry as a winter single, almost like a standalone thing, even though I know it’s the lead to the new album. The melody of Henry and her voice are so nice from what we’ve heard, so great for the dark winter days. 

Yeah I understand what you mean: a bit like LMLYLAW being the first single of COCC. I’m mostly curious what the final track sounds like, if there’s more production to it compared to the snippet we got. 
ans I must say that I’m almost shocked that the first single will be the first track she teased with a snippet of.

It's kinda funny. The woman (Sisk) mixed and engineered two of the most critically acclaimed albums of Lana's career (OB and NFR), and now she's Satan herself just because a few posters don't like Lana's vocals on certain tracks?
 
Like, how are we talking about Sisk and not Dan Reid and co.'s work on Blue Banisters? I've had colleagues at work tell me off for playing Arcadia which to everyone sounded like a cat being beaten through my airpods. The sound recording on most of those tracks is so first-take and unpolished, it's kinda embarassing. Blue Banisters had twenty engineers and mixers, according to Wikipedia, and to me, they still didn't do a good of a job as Sisk, all hands on deck.

blue banisters' rugged charm and solemn would make a great album baby w ultraviolence's swift darkness and weather just sayin. southern gothic 

Ya people really gotta stop blaming other people for everything. At the end of the day Lana makes the final decision. 

Hmm. Don't quite get the Sisk hate. Lana's vocals on NFR (the song) were some of her most crystal ever. Sisk can definitely record vocals well. She's winning awards for her work.
 
Fishtail was clearly a stylistic decision made by Jack/Lana, to give it a muffled, almost underwater sound. It's not like Sisk made a mistake.
 
Also, let's not forget Rick Nowel ruining Lana's vocals with reverb on tracks like Bartender and Tomorrow Never Came. You can hear the exact moment the reverb is switched on with every verse/chorus 🤦🏻‍♂️
 
Also, let's not forget that Lana likes to record her vocals outside the recording studio as of late, sitting on a chair outside. That certainly doesn't help.
 
But yeah, hoping for crystal clear vocals this time around. Henry definitely sounded promising in that sense.

look at all of us being so 'the right person will stay' on this thread. that's a parallel. we deserve compensation for our loyalty. we deserve an album trailer maybe.

but in fact there’s nothing coming the date she said and that’s the surprise (not so surprising by now)

Realistically Laura would only be mastering the Jack tracks. That Henry snippet sounds amazingly clear, so I have hope someone from Luke’s team mastered their tracks

originally she said before the end of the year, but she went to instagram last week and said we'd get a couple of songs before Stagecoach in April, so i think the 'two songs by the end of the year' has been delayed
