i don’t think it’s a issue because i really like every sound she does, but it’s obvious that it’s lana who decides the direction and that’s why i will NEVER understand the jack slander here 
 
lana literally called mike dean just to do a ballad, she’s in control of her music and jack isn’t putting a gun to her head to make whatever he wants to do
 
so with that we conclude that jack is a king and changing the producer won’t make her release an ultraviolence part 2 like some people here wants to 
 

My potentially controversial thought on the unending Jack production discourse is that the issue isn't Jack, it's Lana. I've listened to a lot of the other stuff the Jack has worked on and he has a decently diverse sound and style. I've noticed in a lot of interviews where artists talk about working with Jack they all sort of say the same thing, how they're super comfortable working with him and that he's basically a kind of conduit for their ideas or a chameleon who brings their ideas to life, or something to that degree (a really talented yes-man is my reading of it). So ultimately, I think that the "lackluster" production on some of her more recent albums is a result of Lana as opposed to Jack not being able to do anything else as most people like to claim.
 
That said, I do agree that she could potentially benefit from working with another producer or at least bringing on another producer to help push her out of her comfort zone and try something a little different.

I believe this album will mostly feature beautiful love songs, much like Let the Light In. I think that's the kind of music she wants to create now.

Unfortunately, it doesn't mean anything. Tons of outlets have reported on her fake release dates in the past. I doubt they know anything more than we do. 

don't worry y'all she will suprise release this album right after her Stagecoach set - where she performed her 13 new tracks from this album as the album live debut show a.k.a. "very special country set", yes Lana we trust you.

Well pitchfork just listed it under the 5/21 date for most anticipated spring releases…giving me a tinge of hope that it IS coming?

I am simultaneously of the belief that no one “owes” fans anything, and at the same time incredibly disappointed she isn’t communicating with us about……….. anything.

I’m so BORED!!!!!! I can’t fucking stand this release thread anymore. I can’t even shitpost anymore, this is so unfunny. I’m all for letting Lana take her time, but cancel the album if it isn’t happening, the unprofessionalism is insane. Also fuck twitter insiders, insiders in general. The Nowelstalgia needs to stop too. It’s been discussed to death, and it ain’t ever gonna happen. This is unhinged but I woke up mad as hell today, and reading these last few pages is driving me up the wall. 

not to be a hater, but I miss Rick, I really, really do. He was just so good at coming up with rich layered sounds.
Imagine a Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson sound and lyrical style and some angelic and kind of sinister orchestral sounds. You could even throw some delta blues and real old folk influences and boom you have a true southern gothic feel

Happy Birthday to the album that rekindled my interest in Lana almost ten years after Video Games and started my still ongoing fan era. I remember accidentally reading an online article about the album and watching the music video for the title track. I didn't know it would have such an impact on my life.
