I really like this release strategy tbh. When she first announced the release date for the album it felt quite long away but by releasing songs in tracklist order every month/week it’s allowed us to spend time getting to know the first few songs and give them their moment, rather than allowing them to be overlooked or skipped when all 16 songs are available. Also, by releasing Love first Marina is truly embracing the concept of the double album by treating them as separate and I think by Friday, as it’s getting close to the release date, we’ll either have Love in full or be getting a song from Love each week. Sadly she can’t do the same for Fear and let us have the album song by song because that’d really diminish the impact of actually releasing an album. I think she’ll definitely release at least 2 singles from Fear with videos though!

The more I think about it, maybe she decided not to put TNWWY on the tracklist because it sounded too similar to songs like Enjoy Your Life and True? Also the message seems to be pretty much the same. Sadly I’d have preferred this song to something like Orange Trees (which I do like a lot), but TNWWY sounds like classic Marina and the title itself is such a powerful statement and gets to the point of what she’s been trying to say about what she’s learnt about herself over these last 4 years and what LOVE means to her?

my theory is she wanted to have some outtake in place of Baby but her label stepped in and said she needed to cut one to have baby on the album for streams and shit so she cut whatever she thought the album could do without.... truly tragic....

Oh wow .... End Of The Earth????? True is a fucking BANGER???? Enjoy Your Life is amazing as expected???? Not sure why she chose the worst songs (apart from Handmade Heaven) as singles but this is a really solid collection of tracks. It's also so clever how she released this album because now fear just seems so mysterious as she hasn't really talked about/teased it a lot which is exciting. I hope she doesn't release any singles from Fear before the album tbh, it will be cool to digest it as a whole

to be honest she doesn't serve any good lyricism which is one of the biggest reason why i ADORED her but this part of the album SLAPS

Ok yeah I def think she’s gonna drop the rest of Love now instead of just 1 single. If she surprise dropped it and it was already out in NZ way before the rest of the world the surprise would be real anticlimactic.

I hope so! I mean I’m in love with that To Be Human snippet but I’ve been gagging for Enjoy Your Life since she posted a clip on Instagram and seeing as she’s been releasing Love in tracklist order I’ll be super annoyed if she suddenly goes backwards one song at a time when EYL is next!

I really hope she releases just the whole Love part so I can bop to those 4 new songs instead of listening to one single on repeat

Wow okay why are people so rude on here? I simply put out a post in a section I found called graphics, where supposedly people can request and post graphics, asking for a graphic and get this sassy “it’s lanaboards not kimboards” response. All you had to say was I’ve merged it to Kim’s thread...

What I like about all the snippets we've heard is that there seems to be much more variety than NTMT. NTMT was basically bullet proof in terms of cohesion, Masochism on the other hand seems to have different tones already.
 
Downhill lullaby is a gothic chamber pop song with sweeping strings.
 
Artificial Love, and Prayers for rain are basically piano driven ballads with a twinkling 80s touch (guardian also fits here too)
 
Tears of Fire, and All to myself are midtempo bangers with explosive choruses, grungier feeling too.
 
Then we have those two snippets she teased back when she had blue hair and the album was more fever ray with acidy beats.
 
Not to mention she has a string of covers, voices carry (til tuesday), jump in the river (sinead o'connor), down in flames (jorge elbrecht), hands all over me (tamaryn), and possibly live to tell (madonna).
 
It's very exciting, everything already sounds good, we just need her to cross the finish line in the upcoming months.
