Sky edited the lyrics and song structure of EIE... stop the slander! Dev was bitter and has not made a song nearly as successful since

why are we dragging Dev for making successful songs on a sky thread ? when was the last time she was successful ?

anyway she says she made minor changes with Ariel and used to throw fits on twitter when dev would perform it live saying it's a song that he wrote/pitched for her ( which i was true ) because she thought she was being attacked ( our perfect victim ). two statements can be true, he could have pitched the song to her and she could have made adjustments.

anyway when's her next gig/ how long till she's reunited with her computer so she can finish learning after effects and edit this video ?

I’m feeling very manic today, might just ban all of y’all that don’t respect the masterpiece that is Every Rule!!! :silly:

ER needed a bridge, not even a third chorus, just a bridge

Takes one to know one 🤣

? i mean i wasn't op but as an ex now sober addict it's really quite easy to see whose actively using ( i actually think sky is sober now and that's the problem she's having )

Why can’t they ever get her sound right

tbh festival sound is bad for everyone usually, some artists are just able to ignore it better than others. my partner worked in sound before and would tell me horror stories

  5. goddess - bedroom wall, beggin, change, drowning

the alter - gemini feed, trainwreck, haunt, poltergeist

III - till now, propaganda, hawaiian mazes, contaminated, stroke

i’m still pretending serpentina doesn't exist

Well, most of the producers of Serpentina are the same that have worked with her since Goddess.

unpopular opinion but goddess has extremely dated production on it which is why serpentina lacks. bring back jimmy and bj.... shux was probably the only producer brought back that i thought was bringing it even though the devil was a generally ok song

when exactly does Charli's contract end? cuz the dude on tiktok said that it ended yesterday, i don't understand anything.

it hypothetically ended when she released crash but the individual contract she signed with the specific album is obviously unknown. she said she's planing on staying in the crash world at least till the end of the year. she's a lot happier with this project it seems

edit to add she also claimed she was going to take a big break after the era ends ( idk if that's going to happen lol )

Likewise, some artists really need a label (either big or small) to guide them or provide a good opinion of what songs would be the best or more appealing for their public.

she needs better producers but probably can't afford them..

Taste is subjective so yes I agree no one should hound someone else for their opinion on whatever piece of art or entertainment but I’m just saying I noticed this isn’t the first time they have pulled something like this. Sky shouldn’t be coddled or shielded as she is grown, even she said it in an excerpt:

“I’m not trying to chase people with my music, you know,” she continues. “If you like it, you like it. If you don’t, you don’t. But at the same time, there were a lot of people that supported me through this, and I don’t want it to fail either, or to fail them.”

I mean, I think she's fully capable... maybe she needs someone like sza had to just tell her that it's time... honestly the best music/albums are from artists who make what they want to make despite all the bs. I hope we get descending this year at least

I’m liking all these reactions good or bad but Pitchfork’s review was a little odd considering how often they rave about Sky ddd it reminds me of them hyping up Ethel Cain for a year + enlisting her for their festival and then demolishing her amazing debut album in a horribly written review

you can like an artist as a whole and be critical of a body of work. the difference is that critics aren't stans ( who can't separate their identity from an artist the love ). the enmeshment i've seen lately is insane ( not limited to sky in the slightest).

at the same side of things you can say " oh this critic sucks and i don't agree " and go about your day.

like i hate pitchfork, i didn't read the review but the takes i've seen on twitter that we only need to tell her good things or she'll have a mental breakdown and never release anything is pathetic. like i've straight up seen " we need to pretend to like this song so she'll release more "

    Pitchfork is trash

THE AUDACITY to call it bland after one of them heard DF before anyone else on the occasion of the cover story they did with her in 2019.

If it were bland, why would they write about it in the first place?

i mean the last mention of it was in an article about her and her upcoming releases, they can't exactly be critical. those articles are sent to the artists publicists and approved before print; even the questions are screened. it could be the worst album in the world and they'd have to say something nice or the artist would back out

  12. sky is a big girl, if she can't handle one bad review idk im personally really over the trend of the last 10 years where it was a critics job to cater to fans and artists with gassed up inconsistent reviews.

if this makes her never release anything again, she needs a new job. it's not healthy for her.

"I’m hoping that these streaming services don’t compress the fuck out of the song. I did a mix and a master, and according to people I’ve worked with in the past, they’re like, “They’re gonna compress it.” Then it just sounds completely different. But that’s also me being a control freak at a certain point, because I know once I put it out, it’s no longer mine."

She knew Apple Music would fuck up the song sound lol

the percussion is really crunchy on spotify

hearing bounce at ally pally was such a moment, that song really is nuts

would have been a perfect song for tik tok

  15. decent to good album filler...

im scared this album is going to come out in 3 years and the 80s sound will be beyond over saturated.....

but shout out to her for owning up to her bs. this album isn't out because of her, not capitol.

is the music video dropping at the same time?

    no lol

honestly at this point if your asking a question involving her the answer is probably no
