    Hi everyone,
As promised, here is my introduction video! It's a bit long (I tend to babble), so I suggest switching the speed to 1.5 or 2 if you don't really want to sit through a 16 minute video. Or you don't have to watch it at all, just if you kind of want a heads up with what's going on!
The video covers some basic things about me & my relationship with Lana (0:00 - 4:26), my plans for the site (4:27 - 12:19), and ways you can help (12:20 - 16:11)
Also, I apologize for sounding so obnoxious in this video!! I'm always told my voice is quiet, so I tried to be louder, but ended up just sounding really annoying.
    Anyway.. here it is!

I think that Put Me In a Movie isn't related to Mr. Campbell, to me it speaks more about how she felt able to do such things, her struggling to become famous. Lana said she has a perverse side she is very comfortable with.
I am not sure that we can automatically assume any Lolita reference is linked to Mr. Campbell, Off to the Races has heavy ones and Lana said she always liked older men. She might have felt like a ~Lolita even a little bit older and we don't know every man she has been in a relationship with.

Boarding School obviously involves Mr. Campbell "let's do drugs, make love with our teachers"
1949 is strongly linked to Lolita, in that case it involves a Pontiac. Tbh 1949 sounds more childish, I get K vibes from Every Man Gets His Wish, "every man deserves to see the sunrise" sounds like they travel before the guy has to leave for prison.

Without you isn't a Mr. Campbell song imo, "living on the dark side of the American dream" sounds K like. He was involved in illicit activities and had a lot of money, it really matches this line. "Can you picture it, babe the life we could have lived" is easy, it could be her imagining the happy life she would have right now with her fame, money and the love of her life by her side and not in prison. K has left her mark on her forever (TV in Black and White, Blue Jeans, ...)

Lucky Ones, well I start to see it differently after reading you but the line "It feels like falling in love for the first time" could be still accurate, Lana could consider the love she has for K as her first "real" love. But yeah it could be a Mr. Campbell song, even by its sound it reminds me of Prom Song.

National Anthem is a K song to me, it has huge references to wealth and I doubt Mr. Campbell could afford that. The subject of this song is "the dark side of the American dream", idk it is pretty clear it's not about Mr. Campbell.

Making assumptions that summer=Mr. Campbell seems wrong too, it's a time Lana loves not a real link to this relationship, unlike the ocean=K

Do you think Dum Dum could be about Mr. Campbell ? "I'm a bright child, wild child" ; "You can't go to school today" ; "I just wanna drink" seem to be big mentions to her teenage days

Did Jimmy Gnecco's girlfriend die ? I thought one time that the Born to die video was about her, that Gnecco might still love her and Lana kinda wished she could be dead like her girlfriend so he could love her like he did love his ex girlfriend.

Watch her fuckin use this footage for a Burnt Norton sorta monologue where in the video she just reads the text over the clips of people skateboarding. No music, no songs, just some very high level poetry not even the author understands the meaning of
And we're all gonna watch the whole footage trying to comprehend what we're seeing while pretending this is the greatest thing she's ever done

Character defamation my ass. How she gonna say that when last years biggest summer song was a stab at Katy Perry and 3/4th of her discography is based on her ex's?

Loose has always been a fake backstabbing conniving bitch to me.  Took people long enough to realized that.

I can tell just by looking at her anorexic skeletal frame and the way she talks.

I don't remember where, but I remember Lana discussing how she's "nomadic" in a way, and I really understand and relate to that. I've never had one specific group of friends and moved around some when I was younger so I really understand that moving around/being around new people thing. Also her interest in death, not in a weird way, but in a "what happens when you're dead" way. I guess curiosity of the unknown. I also really relate to her independence and doing things on you're own. I love to do things alone like going to the movies or mall, but I also don't mind doing them with someone and I feel like Lana is the same way. Also her many references of unrequited love, unfortunately.

Although I've never watched that film, judging by your comments it seems you may have figured it out, so great analysis!

I've always seen Jump as a song about suicide. The music is relatively upbeat and there are clapping sounds yet the lyrics seem to reference suicide ("Do you wanna jump? jump? jump?") For me the song has always resembled the idea that depression and suicidal thoughts are very difficult to recognize in another person. The music sounds happy but if you look at the lyrics it's much darker than that. I feel like the song is supposed to show how people can be struggling and contemplating suicide, and it can be right in front of your face, yet it's still so difficult to really notice. To me that's what Jump has always been about, but I think your analysis also makes a lot of sense. The best thing about Lana songs is that everyone picks it up and derives a different interpretation which is fantasic!

I've searched in the topic but I don't think it has been speculated before - I rewatched Let's Get Lost (side note - I think it's becoming one of my favourite movies) and I'm really really starting to wonder if Jump isn't, purely and simply, about no one else but Chet Baker.

_ First and foremost she used the documentary a lot in the video for it (not even to mention West Coast) and we know her love for him.
_ "Palm trees in black and white, last thing I saw before I died": there are a lot of occurrences in the documentary where you can see shots of palm trees in black and white, especially in the beginning, from where most of the references in the song as well as West Coast seem to point forward.
_ "Right mixture of cocaine and heroin": there is a memorable moment in the movie where he explains the mixture of cocaine and heroin and how you have to be careful not to put too much cocaine because the first blow is devastating.
_ "Hair thin and in the wind, Cadillac convertible with him": Lana was HEAVILY, not to say she copied, inspired by the scenes at the beginning of Let's Get Lost of Chet and others in the convertible where he is presented as already, "a very old man", and is laughing.
_ "You are a junkie on your window smiling wide": his death, if I understood correctly, was from falling from the window of the hotel he was staying in, at night, and he was found in the morning, with traces of drugs in his body. He, literally, may have jumped. "Last fight, fuck them, last words".

I don't know, it really makes sense to me. I would prefer this song to be about Chet than Mike!

I hope she continues making music although I'm sure she has alienated much of her audience
For me an artist being dislikable isn't based on the comments they make but their appearance and my desire to punch them in the face

I'm going to be honest, I LOVE THIS. I was never hyped for Roses except for the fact that it was so elusive. I always assumed it was going to be another ballad with really cliché lyrics that I'd never really care for. Aside from the rap, the song is amazing. I love it so much. The chorus is incredible, and I actually really love the lyrics too. This is definitely a song that exceeded my expectations since I wasn't too hyped for it and was expecting something completely different. Although it's probably an unpopular opinion right now, I think it's incredible. & I'm also still in such a shock that it leaked. Never thought we'd see the day for this one.

I just posted this on the Burn Norton lyrics thread but I thought that it is probably more appropriate here :

To be honest, I've been so used to this idea that I don't even know which esoteric movements proclaim it. The only movement I recall actively using Tarot Cards to change their future are people practicing Chaos Magick.
What do you think about it?

I agree with you. Swan Song, The Blackest Day and Freak all start off so good and sound so promising, but they start meandering and you're waiting for something to happen but before you know it the song is over and nothing exciting happened

Lana is actually stealing the souls of these artists using the spells outlined in her satanic witch book. That's why she's been looking so young recently.
  23. Philomene liked a post in a topic by HawaiianTropic in Baz Luhrmann Reveals Prince Song That Never Happened For Great Gatsby Turned Out To Be Opportunity For Lana Del Rey
I don't mean to be one of those annoying freaks obsessed with conspiracy theories, but I find it insane that Lana keeps having all these affiliations with dying celebrities.

Remember in 2014 when she was scheduled to collaborate with Lou Reed for a song on Ultraviolence, but on that exact day he died!

Then Lana goes and references David Bowie lyrics in 'Terrence Loves You' ("Ground control to Major Tom") and talks about him in an interview (how Lana Del Rey isn't a persona or an alter-ego like David Bowie)... then he dies a month or two after?

Now, Prince! Not that long ago on the Honeymoon account, do any of you remember this post which read:
"Living in the land of Honeymoons & Oil Tycoons. God Bless America, the land of pink champagne & purple rain. This is my favourite perspective / nothing but white sails above and blue waters rolling in front of me for miles and miles."

Take a close look, she references "PURPLE RAIN"... and now Prince is dead.

I know that it's quite possibly a coincidence, and I'm not saying that we should take any of this too seriously, but I just find it super weird that Lana keeps referencing someone, then not soon after they're dead. It could just be that she is influenced by a lot of older artists, but I just find it so strange regardless.
