  1. I was not expecting the release at all but I’m so glad it happened. I loooveee the OG Slut Pop, and it’s what made me start listening to Kim more. There’s not a lot of songs with this fun late 00s/early 10s EDM production anymore. I thing the OG is stronger, but I’m glad to get more songs and to have a longer runtime. The project peaks for me at Rim Job & Cockblocker. Combining this with the OG is one hell of a workout playlist.
  2. Obsessed with this, and I've never really listened to the original on my own I think. This is stunningly gorgeous. And the cover art is soooo pretty and fitting.
  3. My signed vinyl just arrived So excited to be able to display this gorgeous cover (and gorgeous album). Also feels super cool to have a legit autograph. Idk that I've ever gotten an autographed item from another artist that wasn't just their signature printed on something. 🙄
  4. I cannot describe how much I’ve been obsessed with this era, and I wasn’t even really a Troye fan before this. I’ve probably watched the Rush video around 25 times, already watched One of Your Girls video like 7 times, and I have the autographed vinyl arriving on Monday (my first vinyl ever). This era has really been resonating with me hard and providing the representation I didn’t even know I needed. also makes me realize how much I miss Britney and pop girlies serving like troye did in the One of Your Girls video
  5. The One of Your Girls video floored me omg. A serve but also that last long painful look into the camera. I love it sooooo much and the song is probably my favorite on the album.
  6. on my first listen and why does One of Your Girls have me feeling some kind of way
  7. November 27, 2016. Living perhaps my favorite time in my life that I still miss to this day.
  8. Was publishing your internalized homophobia really necessary?
  9. Just listening to Happiness is a butterfly and having a moment of being extremely grateful that Lana exists and shares her work with us. I thought about how different my life would be without her in it, and it’s insane to imagine. She’s been a constant influence and soundtrack in my life for over 11 years which is a bit under half my life at this point. There’s no other artist’s music that hits me in the way that hers does.
  10. Stargirl Interlude makes The Weeknd an automatic win for me. Prisoner is really good too. I like Summer Bummer a lot. Ridin’ is cute, but kinda forgettable for me. Groupie Love is ehh.
  11. Thank you! Yes, I love the cover and it comes with a 16-page booklet and at vinyl size, that gets me so excited. I usually buy CDs to support my favorite artists, to look through the booklet, and for nostalgia reasons even though I just stream it and never listen to the CD anyways. But spending 3-4x the price of a CD for a record when I don’t even have a record player made me feel weird, but you’re right. I just said fuck it and ordered it. This is the only time I’ve ever really wanted a vinyl too. Thank you for your input and for validating me.
  12. I'm like this 🤏 close to buying the vinyl because this album cover is gorgeous, I want to be able to experience the cover and the rest of the artwork on a large print, and I want to support Troye because I love everything about this era so far. Buuuuttt, I feel stupid buying a vinyl when I don't have a record player, have no intention of ever getting one, it's like $40 with shipping, and while I do like Troye's music generally, I don't listen to him a lot. Help.
  13. People are literally never happy. It feels like you can’t do anything good without a shitload of criticism because it doesn’t do every single thing everyone wants. If I was a gay artist rn, I’d 100% just say fuck it and do what I want because you’ll never please everyone. Better to at least please yourself.
  14. I love everything about this. I might even just buy the album just for the cover art (his music is also reliably good though). Trying to make straight people happy has never done anything good for our community. It just makes us repress ourselves and puts us all in the closet a little more. It reduces representation of our community in everyday life. And they just try to erase us even more. Why are the straights the only ones allowed to have sexually charged music videos? It’s rare that we ever get that. Now we finally have it, and y’all are complaining? We constantly have straight sexuality shoved in our faces. The straights can deal with the reverse (even though they can totally avoid watching this altogether). Some of y’all need to go to therapy for internalized homophobia. I’m going to celebrate and enjoy this win for our community. Thank you, Troye!
  15. Pre-ordered my copy! So excited to see what she has to share with us.
  16. I’m all for competition, especially when every social media company seems to be imploding at the moment, but I honestly rather be on Elon-run Twitter than anything run by Meta/Facebook/Zuckerberg. All of Meta’s apps are a privacy nightmare. I’m enjoying Mastodon quite a bit.
  17. I have a love/hate relationship with this album. I love that dance pop is finally back in this year (this album, Ava Max, Bebe Rexha, Ellie Goulding). The album is pretty great for workouts and just mindless happy music. I also want it to be a success since I do like this type of music and for trans representation. But so many of the songs I’ve already heard and overplayed, either because they were leaks (my fault for listening) or singles. A lot of the new songs are just fine to me - I don’t dislike them but don’t like them enough to really seek them out on their own outside of listening to the album in full. A lot of the songs I can’t decide if I like or dislike. Like Alone isn’t bad, but I never cared for the song it samples, and I’m so tired of artists using samples of older successful songs to make a new song. The only new songs I really love are Feed the Beast, uhoh, and Claws. I love/loved Hit It From the Back, brrr, and Coconuts, but I’ve already overplayed them. The rest are just mid but still enjoyable to me. I loved Unholy at the beginning, but I’m SO sick of it now. I didn’t even save it when I saved the album. I also feel conflicted with Dr. Luke involvement, and Larry Rudolf (Britney’s former manager that was there the entirety of her conservatorship). And I respect doing what you need to do to be successful, but the way she just kept throwing whatever she could to the wall to make it stick makes the album seem like it really didn’t have a strong artistic vision, which I guess isn’t necessary for all music, especially mindless dance pop, but still. Also, to whoever in this thread told us to try listening to If Jesus Was a Rockstar after Minute and before Coconuts, you’re a genius. I didn’t even care for that song as a single, but having it there in the track list makes me love it. It should’ve been included even though it flopped.
  18. Twins! My first album that I remember is Baby One More Time CD that my mom got for me at a garage sale after I begged her for it there.
  19. I can’t get over how much better this version is compared to the released. I know she probably felt like she was in a very different headspace for Chemtrails and obviously the production didn’t really match the rest of the album, but damn, this is just so much more effective and powerful. LMLYAW just sounds like your pretty standard love song but with a bit of a conservative anti-feminism sounding title which isn’t the best look. Pink Champagne isn’t really a love song, it’s kind of a desperate plea for a guy to let Lana love him as a form of escapism for how miserable she is. I mean, the line about getting hard to stay sober really gets me considering she actually has been sober. Plus the context of her dreaming of being a famous artist all her live and her dream not living up to what she thought she wanted. And then there’s the production. It’s just all around such a more interesting song. LMLYAW is gorgeous, but forgettable. And the title wouldn’t even sound cringey with the context of how the song was originally written.
  20. It's not even 2 minutes long but Stargirl Interlude has always taken over my body every time it comes on.
  21. Claws is so mindblowingly good. A career highlight for her, maybe even her best ever.
  22. you didn't have to go off so hard.. damn forgive my ignorance, but are all these songs leaked/released? if so, I want to make my own albums with these tracklists in Apple Music.
