  1. Was this posted? An ancient post in a different thread reminded me of it Truly a relic of different times. I wonder where the artist is now. LMFAO just saw this being one of the first posts here. I am sorry for being trigger happy.
  2. And yet people were claiming those songs are full of hints that she's gay Sometimes I wish I understood what people see in Taylor, but most of the times... nah, I'm good.
  3. Who is the man in Blue Banisters who is reliable and who comes back to her? Not her father, right? This is about some lover most likely, but IDK whom. I haven't been keeping up with her romances as of late...
  4. Ah, thanks! I'm listening to the new songs and wondering whom they are about.
  5. What other 'mysteries' do you mean beyond Lana's relationship with 'her father's wife'?
  6. I'm late, but thank you so much for doing that research! NGL, would love to own a typwriter someday. It's supercool to know which one Lana was (most likely) using in that iconic video.
  7. I'm so shocked that we already have the album title. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it changed suddenly, like it happened with COCC
  8. I'm not in love with COCC (yet?), but I enjoy listening to it! It's so dreamy. A perfect LP to listen to as you fall asleep or relax. I'm not sure if it's a better album than NFR, but somehow it was much easier for me to listen to it from start to finish. I am not a fan of the last 3 songs, especially the Joni Mitchell cover. I find it unnecessary and I don't really wanna hear Zella Day on a LDR record. Not a fan of her voice, sorry. WD, TJF and Yosemite are definite standouts. (By the way, how can you guys tell she's using autotune in TJF?) NGL I cannot wait for her second book of poetry now, though I am also curious how LDR8 will sound!
  9. This is not official merch, but... A handmade Lana Del Rey doll that I purchased from an artist making dolls of famous people. Love her to pieces. She's stuck in a box for now until I have a proper place set aside for a small Lana display.
  10. I feel weird when I see the WC being referenced as a classic Lana music video. It wasn't that long ago... or was it?I mean, I was there when we were awaiting the release of it!
  11. Is reading LOTR a mandatory reading for american Catholics? Don't get me wrong, I know the background of the book. Still, in my country it's not exactly a must-read for religious people, just fantasy and Tolkien fans. It's kind of out of place to see something both wholesome and mainstream being referenced by Lana. Also, she never semeed into fantasy or WW2 reimaginations, so yeah... it really surprised me. Even if she has read the book (and I'm not sure of that tbh), it's still kind of 'off brand' for her to reference it. But I'm not complaining (even if it reads like it, sorry!). I'm just shocked to the core somehow
  12. COCC's only suprise was Lana referencing Tolkien. That shocked me so hard I had to do double take to make sure that the quote does not origin from Bible or somewhere else. Nothing wrong with that, I just never expected to see Tolkien among Lana's inspirations, most of which are edgy. Is that an influence of a boyfriend or a friend, or has Lana became interested in LOTR on her own, for whatever reason?
  13. @Max I also remember when she said that she has said everything she needed to on Born to Die and will never release anything more It was back when she was univerally hated as a ~fake~ lmfao
  14. Okay can someone explain what exactly is the country club in American culture and what is it's significance in Lana's song? I feel like I'm missing a lot of context here.
  15. I asked if White Hot Forever was considered a wrong title due to racist connotations, not Chemtrails Over The Country Club. Learn to read please before you act all smug. Also I am not American so it's not clear to me what is the significance of the country club. I consider chemtrails a psycho conspiracy theory, so it's very likely that I am missing the meaning of the title. Not in the way that you suggested though.
  16. I agree WHF wasn't a good title, but this one also isn't. Do you mean that the title would be a death sentence cause it could be understood in a racist way? Like Lana talking about white power or something?
  17. I love this poem, I think it's the first one of Lana that has really touched me and that I find good. At the same time it makes me happy and cringe a bit because I have the same relationship with Sylvia (and to a smaller extent, Marilyn) as Lana (as many women do), so it's a bit embarrassing to see myself reflected so well in the poem. I need to reread Bell Jar because I forgot the part about the leather shoes. I've read it years ago so I only remember the big plot points. I have high hopes for the whole poetry book assuming it's gonna bring more poems like this one.
  18. What happened to White Hot Forever... didn't love the title but I still liked it more than the Chemtrails one. WTF is this. Is she trolling or trying to be 'political' again?
  19. Do we know for sure that Barrie and Lana knew each other before VG? This is the one part that doesn't fit... sounds to me like he's seen Lana for the first time in the music video. Not sure how he would have the phone number though...
  20. Holy shit, thank you! Will look it up now!
  21. Well, it's a narrative about a poor faithful boy who dindu nufin wrong and who loves his girl even though she's a slut fucking a whole town. It ends with said protagonist deciding he is better off fapping on his own and considering murdering his significant other for being evil. Because apparently being unfaithful is worse than being a murderer lmfao. It's like an incel wrote a story about how a typical relationship goes according to the wisdom of 4chan. It's a typical male narrative about how women are evil slut and how it justifies murder. There is a lot of such crap on the internet and in media, if you learn to recognize it it's hard not to see it. I was not suprised to see Sublime had a song about date rape tbh with the author having the below to say about it: Wow, imagine having to state that you have never date raped anyone. Anyway, don't get me wrong, I get that women can be shit to others as well. Doesn't change the fact that those Sublime lyrics are peak incelcore.
  22. Doin Time is an annoying song with incel/blackpill tier lyrics and I wish Lana had not covered it (or at least kept it far away from NFR). The video is fun and imaginative though! I'm also not gonna deny that she did her best with Doin Time, it's just that I hate the song itself. On the other hand, Some Things Last A Long Time is my fave Lana Cover (except for Heart-Shaped Box, I wish we had a studio recording!). It's a beautiful song and fits Lana perfectly. I always cry whenever I listen to it (no matter if it's the original version or Lana's). I'm glad that the cover happened. I have been out of touch with the fandom, so forgive me if those somehow are popular opinions
  23. I'm reading My Dark Vanessa (currently at page 13) and I am wondering if Lana plans to read it (or if she has already read it) and if yes, what will her opinion be about the book. I've just begun reading and the relationship between the protagonist and her teacher already reminds me the things Lana has said about her English Teacher.
