You know after a few good listens I’ve really come to be impressed with how Lana’s Melodie’s and lyric structure kinda make it difficult to sing along because the songs are more like diary entries.. it’s like these songs were for her on her terms, more than any of her other ones. She is telling her own story in a way where we have no choice but to listen and I think it’s really beautiful.. now with some of these songs, I hear stories of points in her life.. detailed stories.. that Lana holds near and dear to her heart… it’s really cool. For sure no artist is doing it like her.. also really like the new found use of the word ‘daddy’ she went from calling toxic men to actually talking to her father in ‘Kintsugi’ for example. So much growth. I feel like a lot of these confessions/stories bring light to a lot of laptop demos and concepts as well.. when I heard the 15 year old part in ‘Fingertips’ I automatically thought of ‘Bentley’ .. and even ‘Boarding School’ ..not easy stuff to ever talk about or come to terms with so I’m glad she’s at peace enough as an artist and woman to become one with her traumas.. really cool.so proud of her.. also love how Candy Necklace is masking something real dark…

UNPOPULAR OPINION: even though I've only heard A&W once so far, my first thought is  that: I actually like the first part of the song more than the second

Lana released blue banisters music video two days before the album release, If she’ll do the same with this album, this means we’re getting a music video tomorrow

Hi, new here. I don't expect to post a lot but I really just wanted to add something positive in the mix.
I've been a fan since 2011 and would never have expected to still be so invested in her by 2023. All her albums have been such amazing entries in her catalogue, it's incredible how prolific she is and how the quality is always up there.
That said, I feel like this new album is her best, and to those who want to dismiss that opinion by saying "Oh that's just initial adrenaline" or something patronizing like that, it's not.
I enjoyed her previous 2 a lot but they didn't match my absolute adoration I had for albums like "BTD", "Honeymoon" and NFR. This one definitely does match those for me. It's such a wonderful journey from beginning till end, it feels like one big warm yet emotional hug and I love the diversity.
I'll post a ranking after I heard the album in full HQ friday, I haven't heard CN yet.
I just wanted to share the love for this album, cause it deserves it.

this has been said to death but A&W's instrumental (especially the first part) is one of her most beautiful everrr  the swelling at "doesn't really REALLY matter" orgasmic. the build up and release before the second verse  literally insane. the xylophone tinks in the third verse  the collapse. and with her melodies overtop DAMN its just soooo good im obsessed

she decided to give that pastor 4.30 mins of spotlight. I'm actually glad the others don't have verses and they're mostly backing vocals

I’m so glad she isn’t sacrificing anything for critical acclaim. NFR’s one of my fav albums but it’s hands down her safest album too. It’s very easy for critics to love. Ocean Blvd is more daring and unconventional with moments like the second part of A&W, Fingertips and Peppers that lead to split opinions. It’s way more interesting to me. I love when she experiments and doesn’t keep it safe lyrically and sonically, but that’ll always be hit or miss with critics.

I find it weird when people are like the production is so bad it ruins the song but then they’ll listen to unreleased Lana that was recorded on a walkie talkie and has a bit of tambourine in the background.

I actually think Blue Banisters is up there.. it’s the epitome of false hope and neglect imo

    One, two, ready
I’m gonna take mine/mind with/of you with me
    Ah, mine! Say it again!
    Mine of you with me
    Thank you, one more time
    One, two, ready
I’m gonna take mine/mind of you with me
I’m gonna take mine/mind of you with me
I’m gonna take mine/mind of you with me
    Like Rocky Mountain High
    The way John Denver sings

So, you say there’s a chance for us
Should I do a dance for once?
    You're a family man, but
    But

    Do you think about heaven?
    Ah, ha
    Do you think about me?
    My pastor told me
When you leave all you take
    Ah, ha
    Is your memories
& I’m gonna take mine of you with me
I’m gonna take mine of you with me

So many mountains too high to climb
So many rivers so low, but I’m
    Doing the hard stuff
    I’m doing my time
    I’m doing it for us
    For our family line

    Do you think about heaven?
    Ah, ha
    Do you think about me?
    My pastor told me
When you leave all you take
    Ah, ha
    Is your memories
& I wanna take mine of you with me
I’m gonna take mine of you with me
Yeah, I’m gonna take mine of you with me
    Like Rocky Mountain High
    The way John Denver sings

    My sister's first-born child
I’m gonna take that too with me
    My grandmother’s last smile
I’m gonna take that too with me
    It’s a beautiful life
    Remember that too for me
    Ah, ha ha, ha ha
    Ah, ha ha, ha ha
    Ahh, ahh…

I personally think this surprise could be
an acting debut in abels show or multiple songs on the soundtrack
Music collaboration with a well known artist
    documentary ? Movie involvement/production
     Maybe something with Tarantino...

not sure but anything that would make boz at all any excited would probably have to be something somewhat mainstream..
