So if album’s 13 tracks long

There’s still 6 completely unknown songs, praying she’s not gonna tease them on ig again

This interview just re sparked my excitement for this record even though it hadn't even gone away.

‪Getting news about Lana’s next album is like a sprout has finally pushed through the melted snow and is now giving hope of spring.‬

The fact that it doesn't have any bangers on it and that it's just mood music with rock undertones makes me so fucking happyyyyy. Honeymoon and UV are her best albums IMO and they're both such mood records, I can't wait for NFR!!!

I think Cinnamon is gonna be track 4 just like Cherry was. I see it opening with MAC and In Your Car style songs, then some sexy bops, then halfway its gonna be piano ballads and then more rocky songs towards the end such as VB,

    omy gooood im so excited!!!!

Woah, her mind, that's really a concept.

Maybe Venice Bitch really is a transitional song in the middle of the record. Like, the album shifts from piano-driven to psych rock when the song does at the 2:00 mark.

Probably mood music. Personally I think it's a banger but it does sound pretty melancholic, but in a more fun way.

YAS GURL living her best life, taking spinning classes in like 80’s neon fashion and drinking healthy stuff, I’m glad for her! And now with these two new interviews, I really think (or hope lol) that we’ll get more album news soon!! WE ARE GETTING CLOSER!

Interesting how Lana says she finished the album in early January but when she livestreamed in December she told us it was already finished. I don't know if she lied so we shut the fuck up or she's really bad at remembering dates (probably both)

More interesting parts from that Harper’s article:

The follow-up to 2017’s Lust for Life is a “mood album” and “there aren’t any big bangers on it,” she tells BAZAAR.com, but perhaps we’ll leave the latter for her fans to decide.

If we hadn't sat down, I don't know if I would have planned to make an entire 13-track record. One thing I like about it is it has a really organic, I don't want to say an acoustic feel, but it has a kind of old L.A.—a little bit of, I don't want to say rock, but some of those rock undertones on the last songs on the record. It's like a mood album. There's not really any big bangers on it, it's just day-in-the-life mood music, which is some of my favorite stuff to drive to and listen to.

Actually the three singles—that, "Venice Bitch," and "Mariner's Apartment Complex"—I just kind of put them out because they were my most personal and I liked them the most. I said to the label, "That's my plan. I'm just putting out the stuff that's 11 minutes and that I want to put out." They were kind of like, "Okay, great."

"Born to Die just turned seven years old. How do you think you've evolved since then? "so the interview is from this week

I always try to keep [my record releases] as quiet as possible and barely promote my stuff, just because that's the way I like it [laughs].

She had done more interviews yet to come

I actually tried to do all my interviews before I released it, so that I wouldn't talk about it, because it's just one of those songs that is really personal to me for a lot of different reasons and that's often how my music is.

LDR: I am excited about this album. I finished it for the most part at the beginning of January, and I think it's a little bit different from maybe the last two records in the way that I just don't really have a plan for it. It sort of came about because I met Jack Antonoff last year up at the Clive Davis party before the Grammys and he said that we should get in the studio, and I told him I only had a few songs that I had already written.

I conpletely agree with this. This album has the potential to be critically acclaimed and receive multiple nominations. It’s personal and unique and the flare from the recent singles prove that it’s such an authentic, raw album. But Lana decides to put this album in the shadows and maybe she feels it’s too personal? to make it a “big” album with promotion and high budget videos but come on. Pride should be put into the work that you do. she’s just selling herself short.

you guys need to stop making up excuses about how this is supposed to be "an organic, minimalism, chill, vegan, homemade, self love, self care, anti capitalism era" like no..she's just lazy plain and simple, she needs to take a break it just seems like she's burnt out in my opinion and can't muster the effort to promote or even give the era VISUALS, I'm sorry but every era deserves to have a strong visual foreground. This Lana Del Rey we're talking about, Honeymoon was "lowkey chill" era but the visuals were really strong and completely embodied the music. NFR deserves better, this could be one of Lana's most unique projects if she were willing to put the effort in. There's no excuse to recycle and cut up 1 shitty video filmed by chuck on a iphone and make it the representation of 3 songs... I just don't understand what she's doing.

Lana sees this album as lowkey and "all natural" so I think she's just acting in a  way that comes naturally to her as a person that isn't stuffy or flashy (anymore). BTD was an album that felt huge, like a movie, but NFR is more of a chill trip and I think Lana wants to keep that same energy in the promotion.

Well I don't know about others, but I'll stay a stan as long as her music is great.

At this point I doubt it's laziness. I think she genuinely just doesn't feel like doing anything special for this album for whatever reason. I have so many friends who've been in bands longer than Lana's been alive, and also friends who've only been in the scene for like 5 years. I know how hard it USED to be to promote your music and make a name for yourself; in the 70s, 80s, 90s and even 00s artists heavily relied on labels and managers. Now? If you're smart & hardworking all you need is a fucking iphone. Like we make fun of Lana about this but in my opinion, it's really not the equipment (or lack thereof). You can absolutely make great things with subpar equipment & a tiny budget, I've seen it happen hundreds of times. I mean just look at her old homemade videos; cringy as they are, they're adorable, and far superior -again, in my opinion- to that MAC/VB/HIAB mess or whatever it was.

That pic of her from 2009 with blonde hair sitting in her old kitchen would be perfect for Sylvia/Hope Is A Dangerous Thing. God knows how many unseen West Coast outtakes there are that she could have used for MAC & VB. It would be ridiculously easy to handle these new releases...just a little bit better. It can't be laziness.

Watch Cinnamon get more streams than any of the singles from NFR when it gets released
