I feel like the issue with singer-songwriters doing poetry books is that they sometimes forget how much the music can mask some of the faultiness that their actual lyrics have. Without the music behind it, the words need to stand by themselves on their own. I feel like Marina's gonna encounter the same problem based on what I've seen so far.
 
In all fairness though, showing your poetry to the world is quite emotionally taxing. Poems tend to be the most exposing type of written media imo, so for her to expose nearly 300 poems of hers to the general public is kinda commendable in a way. 

The problem with her poems is the structure. They look like those poems that people write in a way thinking it’s soooo aesthetic and edgy, but in reality they’re trying to seem like something they’re not and it’s sad bc her first poem wasn’t bad, and I actually liked it, but structurally it was a mess and hard to read.

I RANNN to buy it like it was already out. I cannot fathom having FROOT on vinyl. Omg this is the stuff from urban legends. IM excited

The drop in quality from her debut to now is SHOCKING

As someone who was a diehard Kim fan up until Slutpop 1 released... I just dont understand the thought behind doing it again.
Its definitely the weakest of all of her bodies of work let alone just lacking in any artistic depth or quality. There are so many artists making "erotic pop" music actually bringing something to the table while this is just.......... well, it exists.
 
Like, what really is the benefit for releasing this? Just more controversy and shock value? It feels like since slutpop, unholy, jesus is a rockstar, feed the beast shes really trying to get a lil nas x moment to get headlines and propel her forward but at what cost to the music quality?
 
After Feed the Beast I thought she'd kind of be given more reigns over her music / aesthetic direction. I guess I dont know why, but in Era 1 and Clarity, and TOTL, I saw Kim as being an artist that had a bit of a cool edge charisma to her. But it really seems like all she has to offer is "slutpop", "coconuts", and "slutpop miami".... from someone who just doesnt genuinely give off this type of energy in interviews.
 
I think thats what really gets to me too with these slutpop records is its just so clear that this is kim trying to put on a characterization that she isn't exactly pulling off like Ayesha or Slayyyter do. At her core Kim is a goofy, quirky, socially awkward pop culture nerd and she isn't really fooling anyone pretending shes a regina george sex goddess. She's just trying way, way too hard.

Lies is immaculate but the bridge fr is the cherry on top. Wish it was re-recorded for a special rerelease of the song 

The Froot slander  is it an unpopular opinion when I say that I love it more than TFJ and Electra Heart?

i do count tolt as a mixtape because of the halloween theme, but i do agree clarity is her debut rather she likes it or not

My version of FTB doesn’t include the problematique tracks so I can’t wait to add them to this release…. So so sooo happy. Honestly I’m not even mad that left my body or your time to cry arent on the record. Treat me like a ho tho…? Girl?

She changed the Hold the Girl cover on apple music to the superior blue one yupp I’ll never get why this wasn’t the standard cover in the first place it’s So much better than the red one and fits the whole album theme so well

Haven’t watched the film yet so no spoilers but like just going off of the lyrical content of PC, it would not fit the film. I’d find it hard to believe in barbie we are talking about pollution, climate change and Marie Antoinette

Ever since that big batch of leaks I've been back into hardcore BANKS stanning mode. What About Love has been hitting me so hard, and III has been on repeat since last week. It's truly her finest work, and I'm realizing that it's honestly one of my top favorite albums of all time, up there with Ultraviolence and evermore. Serpentina really tainted my love for BANKS and I'm so grateful for those leaks as they helped guide me back to her. I mean, I've loved her ever since seeing her open on the Kiss Land tour when she only had 6 songs. I shouldn't let one bad album ruin everything.
