This is a nice article that reflects on the niche that Lana has carved for herself these last few years. I like how more critics are starting to see her integrity and artistry, and take her on her merits, rather than the same old misinformed slander.

18 songs? WOW. It totally makes sense now why it took her much longer than usual to create this record! I can forgive her for the drought we've been in since Honeymoon now that she's going to be delivering the goods!!!
 
Although I'm EXTREMELY happy we are getting so many tracks all at once, my biggest concern now is that the album might feel extremely lengthy and drawn out. I can only imagine how some of you will whine (especially since you complained about HM being too drawn out and that was only 14 songs  ). Hopefully the album is truly diverse and "jumps around a lot" as she said, because if there's a variety of sounds I think the album will definitely make sense as one body of work.
 
The other thing that I hope she has done properly is have the songs with heavier beats merge smoothly into the acoustic side of the album. It could be a total mess if the order of the tracklist isn't organised according to sound this time around. Perhaps one of those 18 tracks is an interlude to separate the different sounds of the record?
 
I'm sure she's thought this through (as she always does with her tracklists) and she will deliver a truly spectacular experience for all of us. It sounds like there's a good mix of sounds coming from this album, so hopefully everybody will find something they like!

I think she means the standard edition will be 18 tracks because she said she couldn't leave any songs out and deluxe tracks are usually songs that didn't make the final tracklist but get added on as bonus tracks? So I imagine standard will be 18 and we may not get a deluxe unless her label persuade her haha!
 
But yes, this announcement of an 18 track album seems to have put everyone back in a happier mood which is good! I hated seeing everyone so down and stressed! 

After she said we're having 18 tracks I feel way more positive, it'll be a long wait til July 21st but knowing that we'll get a lot of new songs I guess can control myself and not go crazy with the wait. Plus I think she'll be releasing the tracklist in the next 2 or 3 weeks + pre-order. Maybe we'll even get Cherry as a single with a mv coming out the same day as the record (or a few days later).
But what i'm curious about is: are those 18 tracks just on standard version or in a deluxe version. Cause if we get a standard version with 18 tracks, then please Lana release a deluxe version with 4 more tracks. 
This has to be her best record since her magnum opus a.k.a. Ultraviolence 

I've loved everything she's released so far, I'm really loving this era!!

I haven't got any problem with the July release date so I'm double savouring it omg. I love the new sound, I'm excited for the collabs, the visuals are all fucking perfect, I adore this era, I don't mind the wait at all it feels so easy to wait when everything presented is THAT GOOD

I'm so glad I've missed the last few pages ): I hope the unpleasantness will go away now. We can all enjoy Lana's performance today and look forward to the French radio one (: it's not the end of the world everyone she is gonna serve us some amazing songs and we will all be having the best time bopping to them on July 21st xxx

Imagine if Lana got back to her roots and made a homemade music video for one of the promo tracks or album cuts. It would be a really cute homage to how she got big in the first place and it'll keep us busy till she releases the third single or whatever....

In regards to the release - I have accepted the date; I'm not completely happy with the vague and random way it was just released, but that's that on that

 
In regards to the album - I'm personally worried because I (personally) don't really enjoy collabs in general, and I tend to loathe excessively long albums in general. So the news that she's spent time adding songs and collabs isn't exactly delightful. This is just my personal preference so don't come for me.
 
In regards to this forum - I'm not sure if I'm looking at the past with rose coloured glasses on but I don't think I've ever seen such general unpleasantness here. Of course there's been drama and hysterics, but I feel it's getting to the point where it's not even enjoyable to read through the thread anymore because of how toxic the atmosphere is. All I can say is that in the end we're all here because we love Lana, we all are entitled to different opinions, we all have a right to let others air their different opinions, and we all have a right to respond to those opinions in a calm and non-confrontational or ad-hominem manner.
