I totally understand your opinion btw and I wasn't trying to come for you or anyone with my original post - just getting that out there cause I do understand everyone's criticisms this era. I just genuinely think she has gotten older and her personality and her goals changed and thus her sound and lyricism has changed - sadly for us, it means it's gotten worse. I don't think M&TD was fake, I just think she called herself it when she was a young, raw and somewhat mouthy 20-year-old girl who couldn't work out if she wanted to be pop or not and cutting off "and the Diamonds" is her way of creating a new image, more like her 33-year-old self. This is all just my own way of viewing it though so I could be wrong and she is going more pop for all the wrong reasons (success, selling out) but I think it's just cause shes aged and got more basic as a person lol

Agreed. She changed her stage name so she wouldn't feel confined to what people thought "Marina and the Diamonds" was so I find it surprising that everyone else is shocked that she is doing something different. Yes it's more basic, some of the tracks have been choices and the lyrics just aren't there but really we can't expect her to write the same as she did 10 years ago writing TFJ or even 8 years ago writing EH (or keep to the same dated sound). It's disappointing that she does appear to be declining though. She was the first person I stanned back in 2010 when I first heard Hollywood when I was like 13 so to see her contemporaries continue to improve or at least keep to the same standard, but Marina slowly becoming more basic is sad but I'm just gonna take the bops and get over it.

Listened to this and its the first time I've listened to her and it was fine. It was interesting and somewhat different - a better attempt at being "alternative" than Halsey or Melanie or that kinda crowd imo. Some of the songs came off so ...like trying too hard to be different (xanny especially comes to mind) but besides that, I liked most of it! Still dislike that she did that xxx song tho

You know what - it's not the waiting that has made the gap between NTMT and now so hard, it has been the false promises, the fake hype, and Sky's attitude. But I'm like happy to forgive all that if it really has been as hard as she says it has been with the label and producers and shit, cause you can tell she really has been honestly so particular and dedicated to getting the right sound, which is what makes the music so good. I just feel like every decision on the track has been made for a reason and she has really been trying to not compromise. I mean comparing her music from 2011 to now (which has been like 3 releases ) shows her music get more authentic, less pop and generic and has also improved in quality. So, what I'm trying to say is I'm happy to wait for her releases but if she could like delete social media between album cycles that would be great.

The last she said about it was last year and that she still plans to release it, just not on the album. She said after the first album singles it would come out but it's Sky so take it how you will.

Releasing Blame It On Your Love to me just proves she could easily release more leaked songs but it's just kinda lazy :/ It will good to have HQ version / final version if it's more in the way of the Stargate demo.

Honestly can't bring myself to even get the tiniest bit hyped. She always does this she gives vague times but NEVER a title, exact date or artwork so until that happens, she is still a liar to me.

I miss the monthly singles (up until Girls Night Out, after that it got lost). There are probably many good songs she could release until she is ready for the album. But I mean after the mixtapes and the leaks last few years, I could prob wait till next year for an album - counting on it having a good release without delays, uncertainty and leaks.
