I'm getting a lot of: "Why is she not depressed, why is she feeling confident?" vibes from some comments here. How dare she and Jack like each other and feel good about what they're working on.

I think she's indirectly addressing the issue of criticism all the time bc it's something she's been keeping to herself all this years and she's not over it yet. Tbh i don't see the bad thing about it at all. It's her story, we don't really know how much that has been affecting her through the years or whatever so. Anyways, I can't see how she's putting herself on a pedestal or talking as if she was some kind of god? I mean she shows her privilege sometimes but imo she said she knows she was always right about the unfair criticcism and all that stuff. They just talked about the issues going on right now and music and normal things? she gave us news about the album, she released an album last year, a poetry book these past months, a new album this month, another book next year... i'm not saying she can't be criticized by us, but I think that sometimes the overanalysis of her words leads to conclusions that are not entirely correct in my opinion and there's always something that bothers someone... but that's personal and I'm not to go into that too much further. It's just that i can't see how she's being arrogant or putting herself on a pedestal as some of y'all say.

    Hey everyone,

so, I had a really difficult time reading this thread and trying to understand why some of you put so much effort trying to demonstrate why Lana looks good or bad in X o Y ways. One thing is saying "I prefer her darker hair", "Her hair doesn't look healthy", etc., but comments like the ones I'm about to quote are simply -- yes -- misogynist.

This might be the lighter one, but still -- why are we comparing her all dolled up for a freaking mega event (that happened a decade ago) to a selfie with a fan in a casual day?

This user definitely knows a lot about her life. I would like to know the color of the Chemtrails vinyl also.

We have a lot of pics of Lana with no make up back in the day; and even if we didn't, what if she didn't feel comfortable wearing no make up back then?

And this one takes the cake. One of the most horrible posts I've seen on LanaBoards. No one is trying to defend Lana and her "plastic surgery", this is about defending women in general. Also this user wants her to hire a stylist for a casual day... she probably went to buy something or just go for a walk. She needs to call a stylist for that? Oh wow, I didn't know women had to put so much effort in that. And the best part of it all: We're offending you? Perhaps the most privileged white gay comment I've seen in a long sec.

And that takes us to another conversation...

As a bi man myself, I find it terrible to see fellow LGBT+ folks negatively discussing a woman's look, saying she should stop doing this, do more of that... do you guys think she doesn't care about her looks? We all do. She's just chilling, for fucks sake. And the amount of pics you guys provided just to prove your point... that's the effort gay men put? This needs to stop.

born to die is my least favorite album.       it's not a bad album, i truly love it, but it's been put on this ginormous pedestal and it's been dried out from tumblr.
any other album > btd (imo)

I thought it was cute how she says she's proud of it. It's not official but I'm sure by how things turn out to be Interscope or Polydor gave her a hard time, If I could bet I would say she  fought ( like she did with UV) to release this album as it is. They obviously tried to set her up with Mark Ronson, she "leaked" her own song, she created HM instagram and promoted the album herself.

So yeah, I'm also really proud of her by that. Our girl isn't selling out and is doing the best of it considering the circumstances. I'm sure a bunch of other artist would die to have sales comparable to this.

While I understand the desire for a favorite artist to create more art, and the hope that other people will enjoy and be enriched by the music you enjoy, I don't understand the almost pathological obsession by some here with sales figures, promo for promo's sake (or merely for the sake of stimulating sales), or needing your listening choices validated by the general public's purchasing decisions.

Also, aside from the possibility of not recouping an excessive budget (which seems extremely unlikely here), any metric by which an album that went to #2 on the Billboard 200-- a feat achieved by only 36 musicians on the entire planet the previous year-- would be considered a "flop" is kind of absurd.

Taylor Swift is a corporation. She's parading half of the biggest celebrities in her videos and on her tour to reach her insane targets in streaming and selling. She's the most manufactured celebrity that I know of, it's painful to see how she manages her image, even faking tender moments with fans for likability. She is the worst, the way she "befriended" every artist dujour makes me vomit

OK, maybe not technically a Lana opinion, but now that the "Prisoner" collab has been confirmed I've got to get this off my chest:

The Weeknd's current haircut is stupid.

    There. I said it.
