Oh wow new records from Ethel Cain, Fka Twigs, and Oklou within the span of a couple weeks, 2025 working overtime with excellent music to make up for other shortcomings…

popping in to say I’ve since listened to this and it’s so gorgeous. It’s been so gloomy in Pittsburgh recently and it’s been the perfect soundtrack.

I guess that’s “soon” by her standards im sure it will be a masterpiece, as everything she has put out has been.

I feel like considering the political landscape in the US, an album about breaking the chains of tradition and making futuristic free love is gonna hit even harder tbh

Still praying for a new album soon. I don’t consider it enough but I literally have her lyrics tattooed on my body

I think if she had dropped the title track and drums of death at the same time on streaming it wouldn’t feel a lil disappointing.

I just started baldurs gate 3 again as a half elf bard let’s hope my crippling perfectionism doesn’t get in the way of actually playing through and enjoying the game this time

Don’t get me wrong I love ambient music! I listen to it frequently. I just love her voice and melodies so I’m hoping it’s at least a 50/50 split. If we get lots of Punish vibes I’ll be more than happy. I’ve never felt particularly compelled by the ambient stuff she has uploaded, but maybe that’s because they’ve never been on an official release and I didn’t give it a fair try. And of course she can put out whatever kind of music she is writing and feels passionate about.

It has the same opening chord progression as white mustang but there are like hundreds of songs with that same chord progression. I imagine the fact that it’s played delicately on piano is enough to draw comparisons. It doesn’t really sound much like a Lana song other than that and the fact that the vocals are delicate and sad.

I’m in Pittsburgh and I’d go to Kamala rally if I wasn’t working. This is the most anxiety ridden election ever. My bestie is so sure Kamala is gonna win. My boyfriend is a major downer and is certain Trump is gonna win. Here I am sitting in the middle thinking it’s a 50/50 toss up. I’m sick.

The orchestral into to this version of Between Two Lungs is absolutely insanely breathtaking.

So basically don’t expect anything anytime soon. But maybe two songs before the end of the year?? The mystery deepens.

So the lyrics are a little… silly (the verses specifically) but otherwise this is absolutely gorgeous. I was thoroughly gagged.

I believe he would prefer Redcar, and I’ve heard he’s gone through some difficulty regarding old name/new name stuff so it wouldn’t surprise me if the label previous records are out on has been giving him a hard time about changing the name of the artist attributed to them. Anohni’s back catalogue kinda went through a similar thing, though now you can find her stuff under both Antony and the Johnson AND anohni. this is all just assumption based on the stuff I’ve seen/read, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was correct, sadly

Saw her open for Ms. Polachek and she was mesmerizing! also the full pic that is the cover for galore is one of my favorite photographs ever and was my watch background for a long time I hope these three newer songs are indications that a full length project is on the horizon. Family and Friends and Harvest Sky and both so good.

I can’t believe I’m getting remastered Angel of darkness in the year of our lord 2024/2025 i loved that game so much as a kid and as an adult realize it’s actually bad but I still love it

Idk I luvd the whole thing. I don’t really care to consider whether I think the old ones or these ones are better because they are so very different (apart from Girl So Confusing, Lorde version obviously superior). I’m just happy we have both versions of all these songs. She really did get every artist to infuse their specific style into each track and it’s so cool to behold.
