Speaking of K-pop stans, anyone know any?
I'm interested on your last line.. -

It just, makes me, INSANELY happy. This song's melody just puts me over the universe. Which is so weird cause I couldn't care less when the album got out, but ever since I've became a CP77 huge stan I've really been listening to her more. And her process for creating Visions inspires me every second of my life

This is what she longs for, or at least one of them, maybe. To have people trust that she has good intention enough to just be. idk since when, but maybe since 50s to present, we are conditioned to choose and excel in a specialty, and are deemed a failure when doing otherwise.
And maybe because it's her inherent nature to crave and be in variety.
She has the hunger to know and try everything, and thus try to familiarize herself with the topic of death, to sort of make peace with the fact that she might never gonna know or be everything that she wants, in this lifetime.
Enough just to make her feel crazy.
Once she got the initial understanding that we all were born to die, she doesn't really care how deep or shallow people think her songs are; doesn't matter if people, or she herself think that she's not enough--cos she's young and in love (enough).

I really loved too how I think Rosé said that the only difference between American pop acts and kpop is the amount of time they spend training. there's something in me that just...for some reason thrives knowing there's a literal pop bootcamp. call me crazy haha.
I like how Jennie was visibly amused when Kimmel mention Hogwarts as an analogy of the KPOP idol music companies.pop bootcamp: isn't it essentially the same tho, with all of the million talents shows and reality tv since god knows when?
It's kinda interesting tho if we draw comparisons of it to Korean's culture of 'gisaeng'.QuoteThe career of most kisaeng was very short, generally peaking at age 16 or 17, and over by age 22.[12] Only a few kisaeng were able to maintain their business for very long beyond this time. It may be for this reason that the kisaeng training institutes accepted entrants as young as eight.[13] All kisaeng were obliged by law to retire at age 50.

But yeah, Rosé is right, the trainee thing they have in Korea is probably the biggest difference.
Daniel Jones of Savage Garden once said (non-verbatim):
"Pop is from the word 'popular'.
So whatever genre is currently popular,
then THAT is pop music."
BACH, CHOPIN, MOZART was pop music.
SINATRA, ASTAIRE, COUNT BASSIE was pop music.
ELVIS, HENDRIX, BEE GEES was pop music.
THE CURE, MORRISSEY, MARIAH CAREY was pop music.
BSB, NSYNC, GREEN DAY, DESTINYS CHILD was pop music.
BLACKPINK, ARIANA, TAYLOR, 1D, LANA DEL REY, JASON DE RULO is pop music. -

What's The Weeknd's label?

On a related note, I'm not shocked that Dua has benefitted from payola.
Wait, isn't Dua under Interscope? -

As some user said here, it does kinda reminds of Stoplight De-lite, but in a bad way lmao
Hahahaha, it's such a guilt free track for me, I just ran away with it.
Ah dam, Lana grant some of your unreleased to BP, will ye? -

I can't like Bet You Wanna but yeah, I'll stay w/ my LTHM and PS
Yeah, they've been quite controversial on some stuff that happened in their videos
I think they might purposefully bland-ified (if you will) the production?

Personally, I hate Bet You Wanna and I don't really like You Never Know.
Love To Hate Me was an instant fav and Pretty Savage is a bop. Lovesick Girls grew on me, I don't like the chorus that much.
Crazy Over You I love the chorus and Lisa's part but it's somewhat a grower.
So, I'd say:
Love To Hate Me = How You Like That> Pretty Savage > Ice Cream > Lovesick Girls > Crazy Over You > You Never Know (and Bet You Wanna, to me, it doesn't exist lmao)
I really hope they make LTHM the next single.
lol, I love Bet You Wanna so much
Looks like blinks will prob elect You Never Know as their official fandom anthem or sth, jk. The lyrics is apparently about the harsh reality of kpop idols, which I observed is kinda extra harsher when it comes to BLACKPINK compared to other idol groups?
Some hours ago kpop twitter was about South Korea Nurse association demanding YG Ent to address the issue of Jennie wearing nurse uniform in the LSG mv.
It does look like they are targeting BLACKPINK, specifically Jennie on the daily.
So maybe that's why I guess BP phenomenon is particularly fascinating to me, cos similar to Lana, they come from privilege*, but they are essentially 'underdogs', you know what I mean?
I don't really observe how Japan's idol industry works, but I'd be looking forward to watch BP's upcoming Netflix documentary.
*only know Rose's father and sister being lawyers in Aussie, Lisa's stepfather being a chef, Jisoo and Jennie's father rumored to be CEOs or sth

Ha, me and my siblings have this 3 singles rule when we buy albums, if we like 3 singles of an album, we would consider buying it. So far I like HYLT and IC, and looks like I will bop to Lovesick Girls as well. It's a guilt free bop -

First time I saw the photo of them at MET GALA I was like, "HAHAHAHHAHA OFC!"
I think I know Grimes first, then Elon--so it makes perfect sense to me, how they would clicked.
Although, I also think that Elon is such a Lana type--ambitious, visionary, hard working, techie, conservative (prob. on the outside, hipster irl)--not to mention a certified DADDY (5 sons hello...)
