strange weather

I've been thinking about this song quite a lot recently. I wasn't expecting to like it at all, the snippets really didn't do it justice, but now I think it may be one of Lana's best pop songs. The production, the lyrics and the vocals are all so sublime and it's literally just the demo. I'm very anxious to hear the final version but I think it may be lacking some of the elements that make this song perfect. 

agreed. the background vocals for the last chorus are amazing. really shows what's special about her voice.

for me, it would be perfect if it wasn't about an instant messenger that no one even uses anymore....

i wrote this song off as trash when it leaked, but lately i can't seem to get it out of my head. i swear, every lana song ends up growing on me if i didn't already love it immediately. 

she's looking heavenly, lately. i feel like something is up her sleeve, but whoever knows with lana?

i'm really addicted to "hard to forget ya" lately. (apparently, that is an unpopular opinion?? is no one else here for the early 00s pop feel? shame.) there could be so many good choices. 

i keep imagining these ridic videos for glory:

--"coupure electrique" with britney as a ballerina. kinda like when she popped out of the music box for the dream within a dream tour, you know? but with an artsy, minimalist video done in pastels.

--"man on the moon" done in a style reminiscent to "lucky," but with britney doing some OTT soap opera-style acting set in retro-futuristic sci-fi setting. 

--a sexy, choreography-driven video for "slumber party" filmed in a mansion, moving from room-to-room of a ~sensual~ shindig

hahaha. anyway, i'm really, really enjoying the album. britney jean was such a letdown that i didn't expect anything this time around in order to not get my hopes up, but i am impressed. yeah, i am a britney fan to begin with, but there is major replay value here. it finally feels like an album britney wanted to make.

i also vote for multiple themes to choose from that are QUALITY and well-cultivated, as well as a main theme that is updated on a semi-regular basis. an @@annedauphine theme would be perfect!!!!!

has the mess with the user icons been solved yet? i'm still afraid to try to change mine since getting the one i have was a pain in the ass.

HR2 was recorded in 2009, Hothouse was recorded between 2012-13.

I really like the song Hothouse and the video is so pretty! What happened after that? They disappeared again

kinda a lot, actually! 

most recently, aly & aj starred in a movie loosely based on their lives, called Weepah Way For Now (if you like the hothouse music video, you'll love it). going by that, it seems like their record company or whoever shelved the album they were supposed to release under 78violet. despite this, someone leaked over 20 songs from the sessions (some of them here). some songs were also performed live. 

then, like you said, they disappeared again, despite promising the album. i'm not sure if they ever publicly commented on why it wasn't released, since a lot of this is still a mystery.  

last year they changed their names back to Aly & AJ and this year said that new music would be coming out in 2017--the 10th anniversary of Insomniatic! crazy to think about that. i went for so long not realizing there was new music from them out there until recently and i think it's fantastic. i can't understand why their comeback didn't quite take off. but i also realize that not a lot of people have heard the music, so therein lies the issue. 

can i resurrect this thread? 

one of the things i love about lana is her mysterious, interesting back catalog of unreleased demos. sure, lana is more prolific, but you know who else has shelved albums/a plethora of underappreciated unreleased demos? these girls. 

would it help for some kind of masterpost to be spread around? some kind of informative post for people who are not nostalgic fans? i don't understand why more people aren't talking about their amazing 78violet songs. i think lana fans would be into them. they even also worked with david kahne. 

i fucking love it, minus the horrible feature. it has ~atmosphere~ & she sounds more natural/like herself. 

i hope someone makes a remix without the ft. or mashed up w/a different one

can she wear something other than a little white dress & those godawful sandals? pls?
