Meg Myers is a 28 year old artist from Tennessee who now lives in L.A. She's been compared to Fiona Apple and Alanis Morisette, but her music has some electronic elements that kind of remind me of Nine Inch Nails' lighter stuff. Her biggest songs so far have been "Desire" and "Monster." I like the Hucci remix of "Desire."

I'm late, but she's my favorite discovery since Spooky Black/Corbin. She sings, raps, and wears crazy hair colors like Nicki Minaj, but she's 100 times better.

She wouldn't know how the video would be edited and most likely wasn't there when the bus scenes were filmed. I do feel bad for Charli, though, because Rose McGowan thinks she's insulting the director when she's really insulting Charli. Charli was so excited to have her in the video and loved the outcome, then her hero later slams it in public.

I just heard "Break the Rules" on a commercial for the Goosebumps DVD. For those who don't know, the movie is based off of a children's book series.

I saw a rock thread and a hip hop thread, but not one for R&B. I mostly listen to older stuff, but I occasionally come across some good new stuff. Who here listens to R&B? Do you have any newer songs or albums to recommend?

It just might be the most overplayed R&B song ever. LOL. A few years ago, a radio personality was reading the top 10 most played songs of all time. He came to this song and said he never heard of it. He must have been living under a rock or only listening to country or rock stations.

What I Like and Cloud Aura (strangely) were the two songs that got me into Charli back in the day.

oh my gawwwd i love this thread, i think i just liked every post. i will have to come back and make a post with better links but after browsing this here are some groups /people not yet mentioned (that i have seen live, so this aint just 10 hype men yelling over a karaoke track crap rap):

Lupe Fiasco - featured on Touch the Sky with Kanye, Push Kick, American Terrorist, he has newer albums but the first one is a great place to start

The Roots - good lawd so much to list, but Black Thought is one of my favorite male rappers - check his freestyle

PUBLIC ENEMY - this is a homework assigement for anyone who hasn't heard this, you gotta hear the first album and just block out all you know about Flavor Flav on reality TV. RIP Eric Garner

rage against the machine - ok i have ventured into is this hip hop or rap or rap rock, but f it. RATM is classic and was revolutionary back in the day. i dont even know what song to link, they are so many. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w211KOQ5BMI

Arrested Development - they were before the TV show, i love the positive vibes and group mentality

Doomtree - i think they are still on tour, get out there and see em. this is a rap collective, most of the artists also do good solo shit

i also added a bunch of artists to my 'gotta listen to it list' from this thread.

She's still not doing anything interesting? Wake me up when she records that SOPHIE-produced album.

Other people like Caught in the Middle that much? It's so underappreciated. It's the only song off the album I'm still listening to. Doing It is the second best song. She should take a risk and release Caught in the Middle as a single considering that Break the Rules, Doing It, and Famous flopped.

PC Music is nothing like the TR era music though. Like they literally don't sound alike at all. What would your definition of further be? As much as people would like to think, top 40 pop isn't Charli's strong suit, she can write a nice hook, but as evidenced by the Sucker era it doesn't seem to work out for her. I'd rather her continue to make the music she actually enjoys making rather than whatever Sucker was. Also it's not that Sucker wasn't cool enough, its that it was a messy, rushed, half-assed effort brought on by her label.

Nicole Scherzinger is a mediocre singer and some of the Pussycat Dolls look like men.

You called my post misogynist when you don't even know what the word means, and then you turn around and call these women cheap, talentless, and ugly. What the hell? You have no room to talk.
