    BINCH!!!!

But also it looks like an iPhone video so I think this is definitely a continuation of Ultraviolence

I don't understand these critical posts about Lana at this time. She said last year that she had a follow-up idea after UV, she said that the album is almost ready and then she spilled the release date which is September. Nothing unusual or inconsistent here she didn't break her word yet. We should be proud of her because she is finishing successfully (bar that technical issue at the GovBall) a big arena tour which is quite a feat. Her live performances are giving me hope that she'll be a consistent good a performer from now on. I want new material from her but I'm not bummed that she didn't performed songs from HM on her tour because this is a sign that she has a plan for the HM release. She never said that the first single for HM will come out this month so we have to wait patiently for that.

I observed how mature she looked on this tour. The poppy, youthful Lana is gone and we have a serious (still beautiful) woman instead. I cannot associate a HM pop era with Lana's image at the moment. I'm more convinced now that a more artistic (UV like album) is the right way forward for her even if she'll not regain her BTD era popularity and commercial success. So I don't expect any BTD level hype around the HM release but at least a couple of TV appearances and good videos would be nice from her.

Speaking of Rob, someone at last night's show had cut-outs of him and Chuck and they held him up during "I pledge allegiance to my dad." She laughed and nodded.

I didn't know until my friend asked me when she was looking my record cover and since it's big she looked at it and was like "oh it's her name"

I loved the show. She was great and sounded great, especially during Shades of Cool. The energy of the crowd was electrifying. It really made for a great atmosphere, especially during Off to the Races. I was seated behind three horrible drunk people that at times sang louder than she did (and seriously one of them peed half way through the show.... right where they were standing.... the poor girls in front of him left.... I was in disbelief as was everyone around), but still I was too focused on Lana. I also saw my first every vagina in person in the parking lot. First for everything.

I'm torn on whether I enjoyed last years House of Blues experience more or this one. Both had their moments. I wasn't in the pit for either of them but this one looked a lot less intense.

    House of Blues:
    - The crowd didn't overpower her vocals.
    - I was closer to the stage.
    - I MET HER.

    Xfinity Center:
    - The set list.
    - The atmosphere
    - I didn't go alone this time.

Can't wait until she comes back! Oh and one of my favorite moments was about a half hour after the doors opened a torrential down pour started and there was a stampede of annoying teenage flower crowns, skimpy clothing and ruined makeup. It was very satisfying to watch.

Hey guys, last time I posted the board went down, but I figured I'd post my experience at the concert anyway.

So, after debating over how I was going to camp out for Lana, I arrived at the Xfinity Center at 7am-ish. There were already a small crowd of people there, and I was marked 17th in line. It was expected to rain that day so I had an umbrella and rain gear, but luckily for me it never really rained that hard at all.

I waited until about 4-5pm when the VIP Nation people came, and the regular GA pit people were separated from the VIP ticket holders. Because I had a silver VIP ticket, I stayed with the VIPs, and was bumped up to #8! I was beyond happy, and after getting my VIP merch, waiting to go inside, I had made it the front row of the pit!! When Lana came out, I was ready to die, she was so close! I had made her a card, and when she came down during one of her first trips I managed to hold it up and catch her notice, and she took my card! She didn't do much else during this time except sign and take gifts, but that was my main goal. She ended up coming down to the pit 3(!!) times, and 2/3 times were at my side! The 2nd time she came down, I got her to sign the lyric book I had bought at the merch table, and she told me she loved me.

Overall, it was worth the wait. The concert was lovely, so much crowd interaction, and Lana seemed to get nervous at how loud and happy the crowd was to see her, she asked for a cigarette during the performance lmao (she also said we were the loudest yet, I don't know about that statement, but everyone sang along verrrrry loudly). I am beyond happy I got to meet her and to talk to her, even though I didn't get the coveted selfie, I wasn't exactly shoving my phone in her face. She got really into OTTR, and said she was thankful to the crowd for their support. Someone made her a Honeymoon sash and flower crown, but she didn't wear either of them ahah. The fans I met throughout the day were really nice, and the pit was actually quite relaxed then the previous venue I went to last year (House of Blues). It was pretty amazing.

Well nobody should suggest that liking Grimes means you have better musical taste; it's perfectly alright not to like her.    I would say to anyone wondering if they would like Grimes to check out her music videos first. If you don't like these, you probably won't like Grimes even with repeated exposure. Visions is the album to check out first as it was her critical break out album, but you'll also get a lot of cutting edge electronica with what's considered her popular hits (genesis, oblivion).   IMO, Grimes' relevance to LDR --on this tour-- is that Grimes is a feminist. Oblivion is a fear-of-rape song. So the fact that Grimes would open for LDR (when LDR presumably asked her to) probably follows from the fact that Grimes has historically stanned for LDR at her actuallygrimes.tumblr.com (in the sense of her saying she liked this or that LDR song/video), which means that Grimes "gets" LDR's songs/videos as art and not some kind of weird threat to the moral fiber of society (or feminism). BTW, Grimes has extremely broad taste and stans quite often (in the sense of recommending) for LOTS of very different acts; some popular, some relatively unknown (e.g. Naomi Elizabeth, a recent example, just might be as incredible as Grimes says she is). She not only stans for new and less known artists in this sense, she sometimes invites them up on stage with her at shows (e.g., like what happened with Nicole Dollanganger this past week in Toronto). So even if you don't like her songs or performance style, there's a lot to admire about her as a music advocate.

Unpopular opinion but at this point I'm kind of mad at Lana/whoever's in charge of her sound equipment.

She's been having sound problems at almost every show since the Paradise tour, they need to get their shit together. Do they think it's just going to disappear or something? Because otherwise why haven't they sorted it out yet? It's not like she hasn't got the money for it. I just don't get why they let this keep happening.

I'm not back to reality yet.

    The pre-concert experience:

I got a Silver VIP ticket. Silver VIPs had to wait at an other entrance on the other side of the building. I got there at 10:30pm the night before. If you are hesitant to camp, well just do it. I was worried about my comfort, but the key is to arrive prepared. I thought I would look like a fucking tourist, but for Lana it was worth it. I packed all my stuff, called Uber (too heavy to carry in the subway), headed downtown and arrived at the waiting spot. Five people were in line already. I installed my stuff and 15 minutes later we where smoking a joint, talking about Lana, laughing, having fun.

Here's the list of things I brought with me:

Everything would have been perfect if it wasn't for the cold night. My sleeping bag was not warm enough and I was shivering at times.

I started trying to sleep around midnight and every time I'd wake up I was pissed to see nobody else was getting in line. The next people in line got there at 5am. It's a gamble, but this time I didn't take any chance and got my ass in line early. I was #8. I thought I was #6 at first, but someone was saving a spot for two people who arrived around 6am. It didn't change a thing as I got the spot I wanted on first row (2-3 feet left of the center of the stage, right in front of the stairs).

A lot of people stopped their car to ask us what artist we were going to see, as people usually don't linup in that part of the venue. Most of them had no clue who was Lana Del Rey. Voyons calisse...

The wait didn't seem long at all during the day. Grimes passed in front of us I think it was around noon. Someone recognize her and wanted to take a picture, but she declined with a smile as she had to go to the hospital. Something with her leg. She performed later with a splint on her foot and she didn't seem to give a fuck about her situation. She performed like a firecracker, dancing and everything. Her show was great. I'm not a fan of her music, but I still enjoyed the performance. She was super happy to be there and I think she mentioned Montreal was her hometown.

Then Lana came and I burst in tears. Seriously, I couldn't control my face. I was too excited, too emotional (I'm Cancer, I can't help it). She looked like a goddess in her long lace dress. She was so elegant, so feminine, so confident. She was moving on the stage so gracefully, she was totally comfortable and in control. Her vocals where great. No sound problems that distracted her. It was a good day She was generous, we got 15 songs! It's much appreciated considering how tired she must have been (two concerts in a row. I think she enjoy a day off between shows). She also gave us 5 star as an audience (*cough* Toronto… )

    (Just kidding!)

    The Setlist:

She went to the barricade twice. The first time didn't last long, just a few seconds. People obviously lost their mind and the heavy pushing started. Maybe she saw some people struggling to survive, so she decided to get back to stage so they could breathe again. Seriously, I didn't care much about the pushing. I actually liked it as it was
massaging my sore back lol. Then, she came down again at the end of the show while her musician where still playing OTTR and spent an average 10 seconds with everybody who was front row. The pushing was so bad I though I would drop my phone.Talking about phone… I had a phone malfunction and my selfie with her was ruined by bad light or something. When she was to my level, I though I would faint. Here's what I remember:

    Me: I love you so much…! I don't know what to say…
    Her: Aww thank you!
(She gave me the most beautiful smile I've ever seen in my entire life, her face was luminous)
Me: I brought a gift for you

I handed her my gift bag and she thanked me. Then I asked for a selfie and it went bad, my cellphone was acting crazy and I was loosing precious seconds. I took 3 selfies. The quality of the image is so bad, but hey I got one!

It's just ridiculous. I spent precious time trying to figure out what was wrong with the phone when I could simply have had a hug. I would have much preferred a warm embrace as I initially didn't plan to share the selfie with anybody and I'm not into bad photography. Oh whatever...

I didn't have time to ask her to sign my UV vinyl.

So, almost off to the races she went (The Grand Prix weekend is starting now). A lot of people were waiting for her outside the venue. I waited about an hour to finally discover that she probably left. People have found out an article in the online newspaper saying she left to the airport minutes after the show. There was a picture of her in a SUV getting out of the venue. A paparazzi took it. Now I just saw someone's tweet: "When your dad texts you telling you that Lana Del Rey is staying at the same hotel as him in Montreal. WHY AM I NOT THERE". Is it true? She didn't reply. If that's true then fuck, shoot me. But I understand that she wants to go to NY to be with Francesco, that's alright

I know, I know... I met her during the concert, but I would have much preferred to talk to her after the show when it's more quiet. I was so emotional, I have like a mini black-out. The most weird part is that I don't remember is we kissed each other. I don't think so, as I would have remembered, but my friends saw us on the giant screen, kissing each other on the cheek. Maybe they didn't see properly. I'll try to find a video, hopefully I will see how it all happened. It was like in a dream and a nightmare at the same time, as I was not in control and I was overwhelmed which I don't like. I felt like I was on painkiller, not 100% there.

When we got out of the venue and tried to figure out where she would come out, one of the guy I befriended with in the VIP Silver line said that he asked her (while she was taking selfies at the end of the show) if she would meet after and she said yes. So I didn't know what to do. I stayed an hour, then decided to leave. I was exhausted. When I got home I drank 7 shooters of rum back to back and cried in the shower. Post-concert depression. Big time. I also cried when I woke up, starting to think she left so quickly, she probably didn't take my gift(S) and letter with her. I'm alright now.

Overall it was an amazing experience and I would do it again. I know I said to people around me that it was a one shot thing, but I will do it again.

This is tricky and will no doubt vary from show to show. The fans took charge and created the number system. The number system is not official nor does Live Nation, the venue nor Lana have anything to do with it. It is a courtesy system to recognize who arrived first. People have been camping out the night before for a chance to be front row. Each person will be numbered as they arrive [usually on their hand with a Sharpie. This will allow you to leave your spot to use the bathroom, get some food, etc. Everyone is usually very respectful when it comes to this [except for that one blond girl who started the fight in Houston]. It only takes one person to ruin it and she tried. Aside from that, the system worked beautifully. Once Live Nation arrives and sets up their booth, they will number you officially which should mirror your previous number if everyone adheres the system. Natalie from Live Nation is incredible. Once they sign you in, you get your tickets, your merch, and they put you in a waiting area in order by number. Once they are ready for early entry, Natalie herself will walk you to the pit in a single file like they did when you were in elementary. I know it sounds silly but it works. Those of you who went to Lana's shows in 2014 know how chaotic they were - it was a mess in the pit. Live Nation has their shit together and it's a great experience.

I went to her show at the House of Blues in Boston, and the crowd was a lot crazier than I expected for Lana. There were a lot of people who claimed that they had been at the front of the pit and tried to work their way to it. There was one guy I remember that spent most of the concert sideways, inching closer to the front. When she stepped out on stage, there was pushing and shoving to get closer to her too. I mean if you have tickets for the pit, it's always a bit of a fight. I just bought a silver vip for the pit again so maybe I haven't learned my lesson yet
