  1. I don't think a guy would voice that openly, because it would hurt his ~manliness~ (which is a whole other fucked up norm brought upon by society imo) but I don't think it would actually make anyone feel good ? Being unattractive is never a positive thing, and I think it just needs to stop. Like, why even mention if someone's had plastic surgery, when you're writing a review for their album....
  2. I keep seeing this Lana's lyrics coming off as anti-feminist thing over and over on multiple platforms, and even though I get where it's coming from, I personally don't agree. You can't expect every celebrity out there to be a role model and write lyrics that suit your beliefs, and bitch about the second they write/say something that you don't agree with (I'm not talking about anyone here, don't get me wrong) However, the whole "that as a girl hurts your feelings" line, I agree with. But, I think the issue goes deeper than that, it just happens to be that Lana is a woman, and women are more exposed to harsh criticism of the public eye and media. I think same sort of thing would hurt a guy as well, no one likes being called "ugly" or "unnatractive". I think that is the thing that has to change, people need to stop obsessing about looks so much. I don't see that happening in the near future, as sad as it is. I even find myself worrying about it. Some people will always be more obsessed with physical beauty, and I'm not saying that's wrong, but it needs to stop being a criteria for criticism, a criteria for judgement. I hope I didn't come off rude or anything, it was never my intention.
  3. i wasn't a member of ldr.fm, and it makes me sort of sad that i joined the boards so late (and during all the drama) but i guess better late than never, because i don't have much people around me irl that i can talk to about lana, and this place seems really nice.
  4. I'm really loving the extended snipped or whatever it is of Cola so far some lyrics of gods and monsters make me cringe a bit, but the song itself sounds so promising, so i'll have to wait to hear the full thing i think i prefer aka version of yayo. i love body electric, loved it since she sang it live, but i think "grand ole opry" part sounds better live i think i'll like american, and won't care for bel air. all in all i don't think it will be a hugely impressive album, but from experience i'm sure it'll grow on me, and in the end i'm still glad we're getting something new from her.
  5. omg i was going to add the lip-licking thing but it's also covered in this vid.
  6. I'll go first, -I actually used to really hate her nails, but now I can't get enough of it, love her claws. -The first time I listened to Blue Jeans, when she says "we don't need no money, we could make it all work, but he.." i thought she actually said "we could make it all work buddy" and i was like "lol sure buddy" it was quite an embarrassing moment.
  7. do we (or could we) have a lana confessions thread ? not like unpopular opinions, but just confessions in general. (ie. i used to hate blue jeans but i love it now)
  8. ~let's discuss this, i'm delicious~ (ldr - delicious if it was not obv.)
  9. -I actually don't care about her lyrics coming off as "un-feminist" and sometimes even like it, if people are going to style their life choices after a lyric, i really have not much to say. -she looks fucking gorgeous no matter what, but i really cringe when she says she hasn't had any plastic surgery.... -i'm really happy about her settling down and leading a calm happy life, but it also makes me think that she'll never write songs like she did in her lizzy grant days (although this is a really selfish fan pov) -i think she's so concerned about her old songs flopping, and that she hides behind this new persona she's created for herself, but imo if she released them now, they would be far from flopping, and people would take her seriously. -i don't think i can ever like "lucky ones"
  10. i think million dollar man was the best thing that came out of BtD, i hate "lucky ones" (sorry) i don't think she'll write songs as perfect as her old ones once she settles down, (happy for her regardless) in a hypocritical way, i wish she still lived that eccentric lifestyle so she would write songs like get drunk and go go dancer and all that.
  11. go go dancer - the goddess this song is perfection i'll never get tired of it.
  12. i've come to known lana with BtD, and even though her old stuff (or leaked stuff) made me like her more on an indescribable level, sure i would still stick around and support her/talk about her if there weren't leaks. lana to me is an exception, none of the other artist i stan for have regular stuff that's leaked, and yet i've always been there for them, i don't see how it would be different for lana. if she were to quit the music industry completely though, that's a different story, then there's nothing i can do. but as long as she's willing to produce more, i'm here for her.
  13. starting with 3:37 in brings me to tears she sounds so angelic. i loved those three nights idk i think her performance live was the best. the end of million dollar man when she says "so why is my heart broke ? i don't know.." body electric in hackney. (and almost all of her pre-lana songs, they just have a different vibe that i love) oh and the demo of diet mtn dew the verse which she says "hit me my darling tonight, i dont know why but i like it.."
  14. Probably the only show that I own all the dvd box sets to, love it to death ( I love Angel too though Buffy was just a whole other level)
  15. I get the controversy about it, but putting that aside I think it was a fantastic video, and I disagree with people saying they hate the speeches, I love it tbh.
