  1. The only thing disturbing is people on Tumblr captioning gifs and edits of a rape scene with Lana's questionable lyrics.
  2. It's probably just a behind the scenes sneak peak/personal recording, and not actually part of the video. (Hopefully..)
  3. "My life, it comprises, of losses and wins and fails and falls." - Money, Power, Glory could be influenced by "I am a series of small victories and large defeats," from Bukowski's The People Look Like Flowers At Last. I immediately thought of the poem when I heard her sing the line.
  4. Every song on UV definitely has it's own personality, I totally get what you mean! I think UV is more vulnerable, or "soft" like you said, because we sort of see her shedding her "unconditionally devoted to you" attitude toward love and love lost. And I agree that her single choices for this album haven't been very strong.
  5. 1. How did you discover Lana? When and What Era? Last summer, BTD. 2. First song(s)? Born To Die, Video Games. 3. What did you think? I thought her voice was very different, and as I started looking up her other videos. I loved her music and home-made videos so much. 4. Your favourite song(s)? Methamphetamines/Old Money, Gramma, Queen of the Gas Station, National Anthem, Yayo. 5. Least favourite song(s)? Brite Lites, Sad Girl. Some of her covers like Blue Velvet and The Other Woman. Stylistically, they're okay, but I don't really like what she did with them. Eh. 6. What song(s) "grew" on you? Florida Kilos, Shades of Cool 7. Whats your favourite Lana era as of now? (May jailer, Lizzy Grant, Lana Del Rey) Lizzy! 8. Favourite Album(s)? Paradise EP, AKA 9. Least favourite(s)? Sirens. But only because I listen to it the least. It's still great. 10. Favourite song preformed live? Without You, Yayo. 11. First song/Album purchased/Downloaded? Bought Born To Die and Paradise both for myself for Christmas, then downloaded everything else because.. yeah. 12. Favourite song quote/lyric? "I don't really wanna know what's good for me." - Gods & Monsters
  6. This is actually a project I've undertaken, listening to every song and noting practically every noun/pronoun into categories, lol. I think it's so cool that she's come to form this identity through her interests.
  7. Lol, damn. I never realized Cruel World was that long of a song! Maybe a radio edit?
  8. Children Of The Bad Revolution and Blue Jeans guitar riffs are both present in Ultraviolence (song). Yeah, she reuses a lot of her lyrics and riffs, but it always works. I never think, "Ugh, she's ripping from her old songs."
  9. Listening through Ultraviolence, aside from the "I'll love you forever" tracks, songs like "Is This Happiness", "Flipside", "Cruel World", "Pretty When You Cry", etc. I fucking love. Not that I revel in her relationship deteriorating, but personally, I feel they're more relatable. And yeah, I think they're about Barrie. Feels fresh finally seeing Lana with a different attitude towards a failing relationship.
  10. Lyrically, Born to Die is vastly superior and much more diverse. But damn, sonically, UV can't be beat! They seem like two very different albums but I love it because.. any mood you're in, there's always some Lizzy/Lana you can listen to.
  11. Cruel World would make the most sense, I think. The radio would like it. It's relatable on a wide scale. Is This Happiness, I think was not only album-worthy (as opposed to a bonus track), but would be a great single.
