I think this is one of those "fuck it who cares" Lyrics. It's so oddly right on if you've had those size dogs at a bay. I once was at a Bayside house with my best friend and his German Shephard Kona and Bernese mountain dog Bo and those two always flew right in. I miss them so, but it's a very special memory-i only learned her dogs names on their bday the other week but still, I get it....that's a long as rant for some pooches this album is literally just for the stans.

An insider needs to understand that Windows 2003 was that bitch and can sit. Lololol I'm sorry I jest but like, Word 03 got me through ages and 10 sucked so I dunno, taste

Those three songs had a terrible effect on me and I don't think that I can handle more of this. My muscles were so tense that I needed 2 massage sessions to relieve it, the bruxism is almost gone by now but it still sucks. And I also don't want to keep unpacking forgotten memories and feeling guilty by them.
I talked about this many times since the songs dropped, but really, nothing ever has made me feel like that. I also never voiced any past trauma. I was sent to therapy 4 times while growing up and I never talked about my mom or my childhood. Not even to my friends or even my father and my grandmother
But I won't leave the pre-release thread. I'm really curious about her plans for the record
Oh sweet soul, I'm so sorry your travels have been so dark. It sounds awful and you certainly deserve peace. Here's a glass raised to you that she puts at least one semi shallow summer bop on the album so you can stay with us through release. If you ever want to, the album will be here for you to revisit but never feel guilty for processing at your own rate.

Tex and Mex #JusticeForNikoIf she really releases BB on the 4th of july, I guess we should expect some of the songs to be about america or influenced by americana? Or maybe about the Navajo (her „personal reparations“)?
I actually have been hoping she'd actually update us on that water project she did. But I'm ok with more America addressing-we deserve it. But off topic, stream National Anthem that day, been doing each year since it's release and it's just wonderful. Crack champagne and sing it. And then stream the BB album cus she'll probably drop it at a random hour that day so we all panic and blow up spotifys customer service.
Edit-justice for Niko indeed!! He meowed out of pocket ONCE and we haven't seen him since. I miss that cats energy.

I would HATE to be at this year's July 4th barbecue with the Grants, that's a fact.

I think one of the most striking things about her evolution, that someone else here mentioned to me, is that Lana has grown with her fans. Instead of being caught in a one note merry-go-round, like other singers. As I've grown older, I had to reorient my perspective and priorities in life many times, that I've grown to appreciate those contemplative and ambient moments that shine through these songs from Norman onwards, while still feeling and appreciating the timeless quality of her entire catalog. I truly think that she captures a snapshot out of her life, turns it into poetry and music, and places it in her life's work.
Aaahh!!! Such beautiful words. So well said my friend and so true. She can make a minute last forever, her power of distillation and the universal truths is unmatched when it comes to her lyrics.

Truly nothing else to even state. Also THANK YOU for clarifying star drip ivs, if that's confirmed, cus I could not for the life of me figure it out. How? How has she done this? Cocc is a million miles away from these. Not in quality but those stories are NOT this. In her bid to stay a mystery, she decided to rip off every bandaid and see how many are left to stare at the wounds. And without fanfare. To see who cares. Lana, queen, our hearts bleed with you. An absolute trio of 5 star Serves

Just now, Contemplating God said:Ever since I listened to Video Games over ten years ago before Born to Die was released, I knew that this was the direction and space she needed to take up. She has such a way with words and songwriting.
Oh my GOD I- friend, this is nothing but truth. Video Games was and still is that beacon. Do you know how often I see the post apocalyptic ruins of the beginning of that video? Ever since that song came out, i-the words don't really exist. Its not like I'm old but to stick with an artist this long, go through heartbreak, loss, reinvention, setbacks, life-while your favorite artist navigates the stars and the slime thrown at her...it's just been such a journey and yet she is still serving. I worried for awhile I would never get Video Games 2.0-but now I don't need it. We have everything. She's filling in the gaps of our hearts.

So proud
Your taste is Supreme. What's funny is that I LOVE Cocc. It's my car cd and it has not popped out whatsoever since release but these songs just have that Oomph to them that I think we all crave and adore with her. And they aren't charting? Fuck em!! The locals always ripped her anyway. We, the stans, won this time.

9 minutes ago, morrison said:What does she mean by "you touched the detriment"? Especially when she adds that all her friends already had it? That line confuses me.
Retweet. I have been thinking about that line cus I feel like I've understood and vibed with the rest of the lyrics but that ones a hard one to crack.

Candy references love. She seems to be in a trolling phase which alot of people deserve and I'm sure she has a whole set of cringe candy metaphors that will force the critics to want to drag her, but they can't when the lyrics surrounding the jolly ranchers are fucking gold. Cotton candy is about to become an acidic aesthetic

Just now, lustforlife said:I really want to see more from Zach in this album... she worked with him at december ..
I really hope a 15 tracks tracklist and
5-6 by Zach
5 from Jack
4 from Mike
I really hope that Mike still surprise.. But i think lana will put a lot of her view in the work.. I would like so much to see what Mike would do without lana control of everything
See I support this. Zach had a hand in Text Book yes? And sorry to the haters but Summertime The Gershwin Version slaps like a Jersey wave. I love Zach. And this trio is so different but like, I get the through-line? Also I don't think I've said it here cus I haven't been around much but I've been manifesting 17 tracks for a couple weeks now. It sounds right it just does. If I'm telling my own tale you're damn right it's the Directors Cut with every gory detail included. But that's just me

1 minute ago, lustforlife said:I think the album will go to the nostalgic pop dream of text book. I dont see Lana doing a hip hop sound with mike with those three singles out
So Mazzy Star lyrics but better cus it's Lana (we biased here) but with a Beach House synth fuzz mixed with her classic strings. SIS MANIFEST!

Here's the deal-I've been working my ass off and finally get to have a few drinks (bottles please, It's me) and listen to the trio of masterful sister songs. I really come back to BB alot, it's just really hard hitting with her delivery, so sincere and at peace yet a yearning still. But I love them all, and a double shot to the possible non delusion of June 1st!!!!
Edit-so who da fuq is partying with me cus the trio is serving!!!!

I find it accessible, but it definitely takes more time to get there...the first verse starting the way it does is a shock that’s hard to get used to, but the instrumentals and first prechours onwards really make the song super powerfulplus it has the BLM line so people are going to continue to steam to see if it’s a big deal
Controversy sells. With just mere days to digest it so far, I am not at all surprised she hasnt said nor posted anything. "Let them talk" I'm sure she said. And dropped this shit like a glass plate. Even if the songs aren't charting (does she ever) she started conversations. Again. I mean she was #2 topic on Twitter when the songs dropped with literally only us aware it was possibly happening. Girls an icon even if she doesn't want to be.

2 minutes ago, Diamantes WILD said:the let-go at " screaaaaamed for thheeeeeeem, screaaaaaamed for theeeeemmmm"
she literally didn't have to say anything about the release bc the music simply speaks for itself and herI could live with her choosing radio silence if we just knew we could rely on dates. I would take that. Being silent and also a bit of a serial liar when it comes to dates is exhausting lol

8 minutes ago, Diamantes WILD said:Yo, this is the tea. BB is like the final form of what she was going for on Cocc, and is so gorgeous and personal, TB had a chorus that just, it slaps. It's so catchy it hurts. Do you know how odd it is to have a line like "There we were, screaming black lives matter" stuck in your head all day??? Modern masterpiece. WW is an odyssey. I don't have much to say on it. It's wild, I find myself really vanishing into that one, just sinking far into the lyrics. An opus incoming. Again. She's relentless

Blue Banisters has NO RIGHT being that goddamn beautiful. I mean it trumps almost everything on Cocc in terms of sonic beauty. And the rawness, that vulnerability. It's a stunner. Her title track record continues into the clouds.

Oooof I was gonna support this till I saw the parentheses. Not manifesting that ish at all lol

1 minute ago, CinnamonGay said:Honestly.at this point ..her music is what keeps me going.
I will die peacefully the day I hear her cover of Jolene/country roads/house of the rising sun.
And yes...she seems to be revisiting her past music alot.
RCS is gonna be her unreleased album huh? And BB the new album.
She's potentially sitting on SO MUCH work, it's what we all deserve, and her too. Let that voice shine, please the masses, and then shake the ground with the new sound on BB

36 minutes ago, Rorman Nockwell said:Dropping 3 songs at once is bizarre, though. From a promotional point-of-view it doesn't seem ideal and spacing them out would almost certainly be better in that respect.
I'm very intrigued but also very suspicious because I don't want another VB/MAC situation where she drops these and then disappears for 7 months. Like what is the CONTEXT for these and where/what is RCS which is supposedly out in 12 days?
Honestly, just to chase your thoughts with delusion- RCS is still coming but it's a mixture of new songs and unreleased, and it'll be short, like 10 songs. And then BB a month later cus her and Mike aren't done with it and it's 17 songs since this is a new sound for her and she's gonna explore it-until she refines the sound and releases ANOTHER album with Mike. And then she finally gives us the folk covers album we deserved on Christmas. That's that on that. Manifest.

Will gladly take anything from her. The last album got me through those last weeks till Coccs release and it stays in rotation. She deserves more exposure
