This was incredibly difficult, but also quite fun. A lot of my all time faves got edged out by slightly more favoured songs.
    1    Cruel World
    2    Off To The Races
    3    Venice Bitch
    4    Video Games
    5    West Coast
    6    National Anthem
    7    Art Deco
    8    Yosemite
    9    California
    10    Salvatore
    11    The Blackest Day
12    This Is What Makes Us Girls
    13    Happiness Is A Butterfly
    14    Heroin
    15    Is This Happiness
    16    Get Free
(Note: I've always had the alternate West Coast as 17th on my Ultraviolence playlist, even though on the German version I have of the album, it's #12, so if it's allowed as #17, then I'll include that there).

Joe Schilling. Elle did the research here that convinces me it's correct.

That blind item ... my response to that is a big "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-U-U-K YOU". It's proof that these days, thanks to the internet, any dumbass with a smart phone thinks they're Dorothy Parker, even though they're all wit and no humour. Saying about anyone "A little tripo to rehab would work wonders" shows so little understanding of the world that I hope they wake up to themselves soon.
Also, a quick reminder, 'Lizzy Grant' is a persona as well (as is 'Fiona Apple' and 'Courtney Love' and 'Joni Mitchell', and any other artist you can name).

Some dedicated fans have been re-creating Lana's Insta, but since it's harder to do with her Twitter, here's the web archive: https://web.archive.org/web/20210912062542/https://twitter.com/LanaDelRey

If you want to see snapshots of a specific timeframe here's a link for that too: https://web.archive.org/web/*/https://twitter.com/LanaDelRey

Fun story - in 1991, I was in a band that was trying to think of a new name, because our other names were either garbage or had already been taken. I piped up 'How about we call ourselves Arcadia?' The guitarist looked at me like I was an idiot, and said, "you mean like the Duran Duran side project?" Now I can call him up and say, "No, like the Lana Del Rey single, JERK!"

The world's a little sadder now that she's not on SM anymore, usually the first thing I did in the morning was to check if she had posted something on Insta. But I totally respect her choice and I think it'll do her a ton of good to just go and live her life and not worry about the whole SM stuff.
Lately I've been reading Nick Cave's page "Red Hand Files", where fans send in questions to him on all sorts of topics and he answers them. Would be so nice if Lana did something like that... https://www.theredhandfiles.com/
Also wondering if she's maybe thinking about moving to Hawaii? She sings about being Western bound in Arcadia, and isn't the only place west from LA, Hawaii? She also followed a lot of Hawaii influencers on Insta, even following another one just shortly before she deactivated. And also the recent Edge of Paradise post.. But on the other hand, all her friends & family are in LA, and knowing how much she treasures them, she probably won't want to move. But who knows

There's no way in the world she'll be without a record contract of some sort, for any length of time. She has one of the most reliable and loyal fanbases in the world, who may not stream her songs in the billions, but will buy physical product in multiple formats (as well as sell out any tours/merch/etc). She can pick and choose who she wants to work with, or even go indie and just take all the money herself.

I don't know ... to me, it's logical that if she's been posting more than she wanted to, and she wants to find a way to stop herself from oversharing ... From a 'sober' point of view, it makes perfect sense.

very weird that there's this insinuation her deactivating her social medias is her losing her freedom or giving in when it's actually gaining a fuckton of it...some of these fans are drowning in this parasocial relationship the girl isn't dying none of us should've had this much access to a woman none of us know in the first place ?

i know EYE'd rather lana just live her life and make her music and poetry and tell us what's been happening in the in-between time via edited published work rather than cringy instagram stories or miscommunicated thoughts on her place in the "culture" or whatever

This seems to be a really good idea, tbh. And it explains her tweeting 'The Greatest' (If this is it I'm signing off ...)
(Also, this is Lana - there's no way this is forever).

I was browsing Twitter, and the top comment on her Capitol Records post is someone, who has 'Lana' as part of their handle, saying "Make better music". With "fans" like that, why wouldn't she deactivate?
