I am so in love with these two songs, I can't even find the right words.  I feel like Lana went above and beyond what was required of her.  The songs fit the story, yet they ring personal, as well. WOW WOW WOW ... Lana is finally getting the credit she deserves. To be commissioned by Tim Burton is a huge deal, and she did NOT disappoint.

I guess it'd take me days to note down all the moments I love. These short special moments define Lana Del Rey as a real musician. I often catch myself smiling while listening to her songs and these special moments appear, like in Every Man Gets His Wish "I learned how to make love from the movies [...]".

To avoid just naming every song, I was thinking yesterday (as I was driving the freeway blasting the song) that Off To The Races is a great song full of great musical moments. I can't break them all down here, but at pretty much any part of the song I can point out "that bit!". Such a great song.

I'm becoming a broken record comparing Lana and Chan, but I'd argue that CP is one of the few acts that Lana cites as an influence that she actually sounds like. And 'Get Drunk' is the best Cat Power song that Chan never wrote.

Courtney's my favorite songwriter of all time. Honestly, I think she's the best thing since sliced bread. She marches to the beat of her own drum and doesn't get her detractors the time of day, which I really admire. She's one of the most overly criticized people in the music industry (undeservedly so IMO), and I believe Lana sees that, and also sees how strong and fascinating of a figure she is.

Haha, thanks on the avatar. I was in an Iggy mood and was like "Hm... I need to change my avatar... what to?" and it just happened. I love The First Session too, and all of Hole's early work. It's a lot more aggressive and noisy than, say Celebrity Skin, but it's brilliant.

Having listened to both songs several times now, I find myself flip-flopping on my prior opinion. I had liked "I Can Fly" better; now I like "Big Eyes" better. But the sampled/synthesized trumpets in "Big Eyes" really cracks me up. I mean, if Dan Heath could use live strings, couldn't he get a couple of live trumpet players, too??

I don't dislike any of her songs tbh, idk why but everytime I hear her "bad" songs over and over I start to like them lol

About her fans...
-I really hate when people say they "miss" Auburn Lana, like wtf she just died her hair, she sure looked pretty and at that time she was kinda closer to her fans but stop whining about it over and over again
- I can't believe when people say AKA is her best album...
- I hate when fans make a big deal when someone calls her Del Ray
- I hate when people think they're better than other fans just because they knew Lana before/she follows them
- I don't like when fans criticize Lana and want to make other fans to change their mind towards that topic, I prefer to live in my perfect-Lana bubble thank u

I think it's a fair comment to make that any time Lana gives a specific detail, like a number of songs on her hard drive or a number of years of a relationship, we shouldn't take it as gospel, or even as an approximation. She repeatedly uses specific numbers in a metaphorical sense.
