Daaaamnnn, this album was really really bad.

The moment she announced the album cover I knew it had a weird vibe. I expected something basic. Then she put out Padam Padam and Tension, which are some of her best songs ever. I was impressed and celebrated the fact that at her age, she would still push boundaries and make such daring pop music. Tension in particular an extremely creative song.
However, it was all like a fever dream, because the final product ended up being boring, basic, repetitive and most importantly uninspired. One More Time is one of the worst offenders here, with terrible and annoying instrumentation and melodies -- it's an instant skip. The following track is no better; You Still Get Me High is simply horrible, and that tempo switch for the chorus did not serve the way they thought it would. Things We Do for Love, Hands and Green Light are not bad but still boring and definitely the most basic songs in the tracklist. It's exactly the type of songs writers and producers make for a pop singer in their 50s. She tried a little bit in Vegas High, but the fact that it's so repetitive totally ruins it.

Out of all album tracks, the only salvation is Hold On to Now. It's another "euphoric anthem", a classic sound from her, although its placement as track 2 is weird. Story is okay.

    It's easily a 3/10.

Comparing the trash that is solar power to Honeymoon is wild to me, like frankly quite offensive but I won't go there. Solar Power did absolutely nothing for her discography and didn't push any boundaries whatsoever. The upbeat "standouts" like title track literally sounds like music for a prescription ad for painkillers or IBS or something, generic, uninspired, forgettable, DUD..I'll give it to Oceanic Feeling though, the only song that Jack was able to rub his two active braincells together for. Cuz otherwise that man was running on FUMES in 2020/21 like SP was the biggest victim to his assault on music that year

2 years and solar power is still one of the most uneventful albums of the lifetime
R.I.P. (REST IN PISS) Solar Power

Girl Like Me's glittery sound is so reminiscent of E-boy and Tattoo which she did with Ayesha Erotica Ms. Cheeseburger back in her mixtape. It's such a standout! Honestly all the songs sound so good! Never listened to the leaks so I can't compare the mixing between the two but I have no problems with the production value of the album at all.

Maybe my only critique is that the album can still add a track or two considering that it's only 35 mins in length. The album itself is amazing but for me, the standout tracks are all tacked in the end of the album. The 1-2 punch of Purr - Plastic - Girl Like Me - Tear Me Open is so sickening!

Girl Like Me and My Body are so refreshing. I hate Purrr. How is this everyone's favorite song!?
