the thing is literally everyone dragging did they even know who she was to begin with? Did they even listen to music? Yes it may seem like Lana is over but let’s not forgot she’s has a very dedicated fan base. People are making out her controversy and stretching it into everything she does wouldn’t be surprised if someone says one of her new lyrics is racist etc... Also many celebrities Stan Lana and will continue to listen to Lana lowkey I would post a list but I’m to lazy to think of all of them

It's a good video, I watched the whole thing.
The only thing I don't agree with is that she strategically did this to get more attention for her album.
I think what she expected was responses from her fans like:
"Yay Lana is taking back her voice and is gonna sing about her fragility like she used to! Can't wait for the new album" (which is what I foolishly first thought when I first saw the post, despite feeling a bit strange about the opening sentence)
Not the response she got from the wider community like:"Lana is trying to promote her new album with a huge controversy on feminism and race".I don't think she expected that at all and she is probably more worried about her career than ever, despite saying it's not affecting her.

His other analysis is really good though, like her reactions and especially how he goes through the video she posted. On point!

I actually like watching longer videos that go through the topic/controversy completely, even if it seems late- all the better to get the perspectives.
I think there is a need for these videos (I haven't watched it yet but I'm about to so I might correct myself if I'm wrong later and the video sucks), because watching something like this can help me navigate through the billions of words written on the topic.

I like watching things like this when Im done talking about it. It helps me level out my final opinion and then move on. I hate leaving my last thought on comments that can be read differently to how the person intended them to be heard.

I am sorry I dont mean any harm
I am just not having high hopes at this moment ( I am probably just depressed from post-quarantine stress and these USA riots)

BUT I am also very enthusiastic about its release AND I am crossing my fingers for good luck + hope that I am wrong in what I wrote.
I too want to hear all of her cool new songs and read new poetry.
If that´s not possible, I will have to entertain myself by creating all new Lana Songs by remixing and mashing-up all of her old songs !

I think I will go make and drink and try to calm down

especially since records and tapes have been becoming popular again, i hope people start to rely less on streaming as the norm. maybe i'm misinformed, but it feels unfair to artists that they earn so little from streaming. plus it's so scary to me that like if u purchase a digital copy of a movie on amazon or something if ur internet is out or u cancel your account etc, you don't have that movie anymore even tho u purchased it. i just hope we go back to reliance on physical copies of things in general

WoW that was depressing to read. True, but depressing. I think the Sept 5 release will pull through. If she does a song named Quarantine Grenadine, you don’t release that very long after the quarantine. And it’s in September : a lot of things can happen until then. And Gaga just released Chromatica, I didn’t check her numbers, but people are talking about this record (mostly out of the US) even if the US are torn apart.

    THIS
it's a long process to unlearn what you were born into. It's hard to recognize it's there, and even harder to unlearn.

wish u all would realize a celebrity social media doesn't matter in this situation. u guys are so mean, it's clear she wasn;t actively trying to be racist and she's not ignoring the criticism she's been receiving. be nice, the way to get ppl to consider what you're saying is not to yell at and berate them. you know she wasn't trying to be hurtful. u guys are way performative like u were ready to disown her without even giving her a chance lmfao. she probably needs some time to process everything. i'm sure a lot of us who have been discussing this are white, wasn't there a time when you realized you needed to unlearn biases you didn't even know you had? didn't happen over night, did it? or were u all just born perfect angels, immune to the racism we've been exposed to since the moment we were born? every white person is inherently racist, it's not bc we are trying to be. it's because thats how society has conditioned us, and we benefit from it. you need to actively be aware and critical of your own thoughts. if this is her first time realizing this, wouldn't you rather help and support her in making these changes?? do u really want to give up ur fave artist just like that? idk do what u want i guess it just seems like sad for everyone involved

    You are correct,
I did not write more (so as to not bore people  )  but if you look at the links I posted, you will find some women in them too. I will add a few more !

https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/most-hated-musicians-of-all-time.html/   2. Nicki Minaj - Love her or hate her, Nicki Minaj has delivered many memorable hits  in recent years. But her overly sexual persona, her inane melodies and lyrics, and the  constant feuds she finds herself in haven’t exactly established her as the most  meaningful voice in hip-hop   5. Taylor Swift - Despite being one of the biggest stars in the world, Swift’s  mainstream success in the pop world has led to a backlash, with many people tired  of her constant appearances in the tabloids, her suspiciously perfect public persona,  and her tendency to write music about her love life. To some, she is the voice of  our generation. To others, she should just go away.   8. Miley Cyrus - This former child star went from Hannah Montana to one of the most  bizarre live performances ever (involving Robin Thicke and a giant foam finger).  We understand that the now-adult Cyrus wants to rebel against her former image,  but there’s such a thing as going too far.  Max adds = Also to add to this list are her crazy antics and drug use during a Live Music-Awards TV show.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~   https://www.ranker.com/list/most-hated-musicians-in-america/malmrphy   7 - Courtney Love - Why We Hate Her  While her attitude inspired many, it has also rubbed others the wrong way.  Case in point: she has been known to hurl insults and objects at fellow celebrities  (see her transparently "friendly" confrontation with Madonna at the 1995 VMAs).  Many conspiracy theorists also blame her for her husband, Kurt Cobain's suicide--due  to their public marital problems. And lest we forget, to the rest of Nirvana, she was  another Yoko Ono. Nowadays she is known more for being drunk and high than for her musical legacy.    17 - Kesha - Why We Hate Her   Four simple words: Lack. Of. Musical. Substance. She's not exactly a vocalist, and her songwriting  isn't anything to be excited about either. For many critics, she can easily be dismissed as a  brainless party girl. And her music does nothing to dispel that.  UPDATE: Kesha has dropped the dollar sign from her name, and has been entangled in a contract  dispute, which includes claims of rape and just wanting overall freedom.      19 - Sinéad O'Connor - Why We Hate Her The exact same thing that made her a cult-hero has also made her a target for media fodder.  Sinéad has taken complete advantage of the First Amendment ("freedom of speech"), and it has  landed her in hot water dozens of times. Beginning with the time she tore up a photo of the Pope  during her SNL performance, she has since been subjected to her music being boycotted, and being  booed off of stage. Her attitude has even rubbed Frank SInatra the wrong way, leaving "Old Blue Eyes"  to threaten to "kick her in the ass". All of the backlash, however, didn't nor hasn't stopped her  from speaking her mind and letting her opinion be heard.     20 - Lady Gaga - Why We Hate Her Let's just say she takes herself waaaaay too seriously. And, although she means well, she can be  rather annoying when it comes to her approach to trying to regulate rights within the LGBT community,  coming across as an overtly flamboyant gay man trapped in a woman's body. Maybe that's why even her  gender has came into question.      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~   Not included on these lists are other very controversial women in music which have done many  things in which critics as well as fans, have become angry at them.   Debbie Harry (aka Blondie) - Once an early punk rock singer and very controversial onstage woman,  she turned to being a Pop Princess to the dislike of many fans. She had "sold out" to the corporate  music business.  But do not forget that their song “Rapture” was the first rap song most people ever heard ! Not Run-DMC. - https://www.spin.com/featured/blondie-debbie-harry-chris-stein-january-1986-cover-story-debbies-back/   Beyoncé (Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter) - Many controversies surround her by music critics as  well as fan critics,  including racial controversies. Search Google and spend the next  couple of weeks reading about them !   Kate Bush - https://www.npr.org/2011/08/16/139579900/another-american-looks-at-why-americans-dont-care-for-kate-bush?t=1590963287671   Madonna - Way too many controversies to mention here. Search Google and spend the next  couple of weeks reading about them !       Soooo many other female singers. So Lana Del Rey is not alone and free from critical controversy.     In time, people will forgive all of them and move on with their lives.... because their MUSIC legacy will last forever and will survive

Tbh after all of this, I wouldn’t be surprised if we never see an album or anything from her ever again. The way people are dragging her, degrading her, and downright bullying her is disgusting. No one deserves that. People know that she’s sensitive and it’s not like she doesn’t read some of the things people say. She’s a human being and whether you agree with her actions this month or not, some the things I am seeing on Twitter and Instagram are not okay. I would not blame her one bit if she stops putting out music.

This will not be forgotten in the history books, but people will try to forgive, and move on, because all that matters
is the MUSIC and the good times they make us feel.
If Lana Del Rey put out bad music , surely, we would have forgotten all about her many years ago.

Do not forget that in the past many many bands (and singers) have passed through this and much worse problems and many people (fans) have continued to
admire their music and their legacy.

    Examples...
The BEATLES - The greatest band on the planet was harshly criticized due to John Lennon saying to a reporter once that "The Beatles were now more
famous than Jesus Christ" , but that reporter did not include into her interview that John Lennon was talking about a recent book
he had just read.  People did not know this and went crazy and heavily criticized the Beatles members, they made death threats, and burned their records in public.

The Doors - Also heavily criticized by the LAW and some music critics for going over the edge with their on-stage antics, their music lyrics and poetry,
and in one concert Jim Morrison was arrested for supposedly had shown his penis to the crowd (this was never proven to be true). The Doors band was Never invited to play

in 1969, so they decided to make their own free concert. It all went wrong and in Altamont Concert a man was stabbed by a motorcycle gang member. Mick Jagger´s head

Someone posted a picture of Lana Del Rey in a Spa (which is actually from 2018)
and wrote that she was just relaxing in this time of crisis that is happening in the USA.
