tysm, also did any of the Madonna's demos she recorded leak?

She didn't record any of the Rebel Heart songs other than Nothing Lasts Forever. They were mostly written collaboratively with Madonna, who recorded the demo vocals on her own.

  2. It would be a lot of work because 25 songs to remake is actually as hard as making a new album of 13 tracks. She'd have to remake the instrumentals and record the vocals again, because she cannot just put songs from 2011 and call it a day. Her voice obviously changed and it wouldn't sound good to have songs with her old tone and her newer one. In the end, I think the hardest part of making an album for her isn't the songwriting but the recording and that's why it's be kinda annoying to do. But what she can also do is reduce the amount of leaked songs she'd put out

She never said she was going to remake them. The whole point of the release was to put out the songs as we know them, with their original vocal takes from 2011 or whenever. She'd only be changing the instrumentals slightly and having all the tracks mixed and mastered for release.

  3. Last thing i have to say... i hope she actually says "Norman fucking rockwell" in the song instead of just leaving the title out of the lyrics like she did with Terrance Loves You. Luckily, the album wasn't called that bc that would've bothered me... idk i just want the album title to be song lyrics is all

I feel like the title's gonna be either a "wham line" at the end of the chorus (which she seems to have cut off right before the end) or somewhere in the bridge.

  4. So is she planning on releasing anything for herself properly again or no?

    :crossed:

Yes, but it's entirely possible that things have been delayed by the creation of new material. She said a while ago that she was working specifically on the album, rather than the next EP, and earlier this year, she was posting tons of snippets from songs she was literally in the middle of recording. I think we're getting a full-length LP rather than an EP, like she'd originally planned.

  5. where is still sad still sexy

Probably coming late summer or autumn. I think she’s too wrapped up in Mark Ronson promo to begin her own solo era just yet.

  6. You're complaining but don't forget some other artists do worse. FKA twigs released the first single of her second album in 2016 if I'm not mistaking, the second single in 2019, and we still know nothing about the album. Lana takes her time, but at least she's still releasing and we know the album is done.

Nah, you've got your info wrong. The stuff that FKA twigs did in 2016 was standalone, not part of an album. Also, her new album is supposedly titled Magdalene and she's performed a bunch of the new songs from it already; even more than we've heard from NFR, if I'm not mistaken.

  7. Tracklist?

    Venice Bitch

    Mariner’s Apartment Complex

    Happiness Is A Butterfly

    Hope Is A Dangerous Thing...

    Doin’ Time

“in ur car I’m a star”

“u don’t have to be stronger than you really are”

    How To Disappear

    Norman Fucking Rockwell

    Unknown #1 (could be Bartender)

    Unknown #2

    ? Unknown #3

    ? Unknown #4

This is assuming it’s 13 tracks long

    What else am I missing?

You forgot about Cinnamon, but that's the only thing you're missing, as far as I can tell.

  8. And we have no way of knowing whether Abagail really knows what she’s talking about, whether she’s sidestepping a touchy situation she doesn’t want to be publicly associated with, etc.

The only parties in the Norman Rockwell camp who can absolutely clarify that are the trustees and their lawyers, and not even they may be able to speak freely if there was a non-disclosure agreement.

It’s not just using the NR name, as some keep repeating, which is no doubt trademarked anyway, as it still brings in millions a year in licensing fees from Hallmark and others.

It’s that NR is associated with traditional, vintage America, and homey values like innocence, first love, selflessness, courage, appreciation, hospitality, trust, love of family, love of parents, neighborliness, grade school, gardening, Little League, etc.

Therefore, the trustees of the estate are very unlikely to allow the word FUCKING to appear between Norman and Rockwell in any public or commercial context, as it would besmirch the name in the contemporary mind and they and the family and descendants would stand to lose millions, and of course Hallmark would certainly object too, and perhaps sue them as well.

So if the album was just called Norman Rockwell and there was no profanity on the album, and the conception of NR was treated fairly and traditionally, and they approved the entire album contents, they might allow the use of the name provided the estate received some cut of the profits.

But they certainly wouldn’t approve the title with FUCKING in the middle, and would also likely withhold permission because of lines like “fresh out of fucks forever,” or, in the past, “my pussy tastes like Pepsi Cola.”

We’ll know a lot more when the album is released, in terms of what it’s called, whether there’s a title song of the same name, or if the album has another name.

The NR estate probably ALREADY objected to the name NR being used in a song that also has the line, “fresh out of fucks forever.”

NR was about a traditional and in some ways, conservative, as you get, and that is still his image.

You have to think in terms of celebrities from another, more ‘respectable’ era, like Carol Burnett, who is still living, still makes a living off her name, and would sue if someone released an album called ‘Carol Fucking Burnett.’ As I said here weeks ago, before her death, Elizabeth Taylor filed a lawsuit against people using her name and image and won.

Someone like Britney Spears might or might not object to an album being released by a popular recording artist called ‘Britney Fucking Spears,’ but she’s of this relatively of this era. I bet Taylor Swift would never allow it, even though she’s from a later era.

Dude, parody is considered protected free speech. Trademarks do not apply. This is NOT the issue. We have been over this.

  9. unreasonably bad is the best description I've heard of them lol I feel like she is going to ruin any credibility she had gained back after the SNL performance (in the eyes of the gp)

I can all but guarantee that 99.99% of the public won't even know she released a poetry book and nothing will be "ruined" whatsoever in that regard. Books are even harder to promote than music these days and she's barely promoting her music, so I expect literally nothing in terms of promotion beyond like...an Instagram post or two. That's not gonna reach the GP at all.

  10. Wait wasn’t there a registered song called Vintage?

No song under that title was ever registered, that I know of. The most recent titles attributed to her on GEMA are "Nonchalant" and "Tell the World".

  11. Ya mama! No but seriously it's a NFR pre release thread where we SPECULATE, so I don't think anyone is gonna stfu lmao. Also which record executive do you know that has confirmed to you that it's been turned in? She said FINISHED, not turned in sweetie.

Frankly, you and all the other whiny pissants in this thread are literally just shitting on everything and spreading ridiculous negativity. What fucking purpose does all this OTT speculation serve? Nothing except to entrench ideas that never existed in your mind, leading to your expectations being impossibly high, causing even more negativity when the final product doesn't meet your idea of what it should be and never was going to be.

Btw, that condescending tone just makes you look foolish, "sweetie". That's the recourse of people who don't have an actual argument.

  12. I’m confused, does Lana have a Grammy for the Summertime Sadness remix or not? I always though she did but according to Wikipedia she doesn’t. But Cedric Gervais won in 2013...

She does not. The Grammy for Best Remixed Recording only goes to the person who produced the remix. The original artist does not receive the award, unless they're the one who made the remix, like David Guetta, who won in 2010 by remixing his own song.

  13. It still says march in one of the articles I read --- how can that be true without any info? Is she just going to drop it?

Also, she tends to release records around summer - either just before, during, or just after.

It's not unprecedented. We only knew Honeymoon's release date about a month before release. She still has like two and a half weeks to announce it if the album truly does drop in March.

  14. And Dirty Lemonade is from May 2013 so it should be in Eleuthero

Didn't BB&S still exist in early 2013? I thought it wasn't scrapped for Eleutheromaniac until mid-year.

  15. Great. Now we got the stereotyping squad! You do realize there's forward thinking modern churches right? There's literally a church in montreal that has rainbows in it and encourages gays to come... Since when did throwing everyone into a box become a trend?

There's no such thing as a modern Catholic church. All "new age" churches are Protestant.
